Chapter 8: The Unveiling
Enora was excited as she stepped out of the sleek black limousine, curtesy of Natalie, with her friends Sophia, Lisa, and Levi. They were all dressed to the nines, ready to attend one of the exclusive events hosted by one of Enora’s colleagues. It had been a while since they had all been able to spend time together, and Enora was looking forward to catching up and having a good time.
As they made their way through the bustling crowd towards the entrance of the venue, Enora couldn’t help but feel a sense of anticipation building in the air. The event promised to be lavish and extravagant, with all the glitz and glamour befitting a high-profile affair.
Once inside, Enora and her friends mingled with the other guests, sipping cocktails, and enjoying the luxurious surroundings. The party was in full swing, with music pumping and laughter filling the air.
Sophia pulled Enora with her to the dance floor, both happy to let their hair down for a night and to shake off the stress from a week’s worth of work. Dancing their worries away, they were quickly joined by Lisa and Levi and a fresh supply of drinks. On the dance floor they heard whispers of a super-exclusive part of the event that was hidden from view.
“What do you think it is?”, Lisa asked Enora when the took a break from dancing countless songs later. Enora shrugged.
“I don’t know. Probably some VIP lounge.”, she said, not spending too much time thinking about it. It felt good to her to not be the one in charge of the event for once, and Enora was determined to make use of that.
Returning from the restroom, Enora and Sophia were heading back to their friends, when Enora bumped into a man that suddenly stepped in her path. She grabbed onto the man’s arms in order to stay upright, when he grabbed her waist by instinct to help her. Enora looked up to thank the man for keeping her steady, when she saw Sebastian before her. He was dressed in a sharp suit and looking as handsome as ever. Her heart skipped a beat as she took in his familiar face, and she couldn’t help but feel a surge of conflicting emotions.
“Thank you.”, Enora smiled.
Sebastian smiled warmly at her, his blue eyes sparking with mischief. “You’re welcome.”, he replied smoothly, his gaze lingering on her face. She looked beautiful tonight, and her skin underneath his hands felt like home.
He wondered how long he could continue to touch her without her stepping away from him. This pull, this draw that he felt towards her was something that Sebastian had not yet felt for a woman. It was, however, similar to what he had felt to Adam, and that fact confused him. How was it possible to have two mates? But then, Adam had mentioned that the mate bonds had been messed up for years.
Sebastian took another look at the woman in front of him and decided that for tonight he wouldn’t resist this pull anymore, and that he would see what would happen.
Before Enora could respond, Sebastian leaned in closer, his breath warm against her ear. “There’s something I want to show you.”, he whispered, his voice sending shivers down her spine. His hands moved from her waist to her lower back, and tingles raced through her body.
“What?”, Enora said breathlessly, the attraction to Sebastian was undeniable. Sebastian smiled to himself, knowing now that she felt the same. Subtly, he pulled Enora closer to his body. His lips softly touched her ear, and he heard her breath hitch softly.
Sebastian pulled her with him to a more secluded part of the venue to get a little more privacy for what he wished to do to her, before he would drag her down to the super-exclusive part of the event. He positioned Enora with her back to the wall, so that he towered over her with one hand to the wall.
“What are you doing?”, Enora asked anxiously. She didn’t know what to expect from Sebastian in the mood that he was in.
Sebastian looked into her eyes, searching for something, not quite sure what. Enora was staring up at him expectantly, waiting for him to take the initiative to do something. Sebastian leaned closer and put his lips on hers softly. His tongue licked and nipped on hers, wanting her to give him access to deepen the kiss, which Enora happily did.
Their kiss was passionate and intense, igniting a fire between them that had been smoldering beneath the surface. Enora melted into Sebastian’s embrace, her fingers tangling in his hair as she responded eagerly to his touch. His tongue explored her mouth, battling her tongue for submission. She tasted exquisite, like heaven. Sebastian’s hands moved over her body, squeezing her ass as he pulled her closer to him.
Enora could feel his arousal as there was no space between them anymore. Sebastian was taking his time kissing her, like they were in the privacy of their bedroom instead of an event. Coming up for air, Sebastian licked down her ear and kissed down her neck. He heard a soft moan coming from Enora, which ignited a spark of desire in him. Suddenly, Enora couldn’t be close enough to him, and his hand skimmed her side to graze her breast.
Sebastian leaned his forehead against hers, panting softly, rearranging himself in his pants. His large hand caressed her cheek. “I don’t want to stop, but this is not the place. Come.”, he said, and he grabbed Enora’s hand. He started to make their way to the secluded part of the event when she was suddenly yanked away from him.
Sebastian turned around in anger, but then saw Enora smiling with people that were undoubtedly her friends.
“Enora, there you are! We’ve been looking all over for you.”, Sophia exclaimed, her voice filled with concern.
“I’m sorry, I got a little distracted.”, Enora replied sheepishly, offering her friends an apologetic smile. She wasn’t that sad about it either.
Sebastian watched the exchange with a mixture of frustration and disappointment, his heart pounding in his chest as he struggled to contain the overwhelming urge to pull Enora back into his arms. He finally let down his guard and allowed himself to act on his desires, only to have their moment interrupted by Enora’s friends.
With a forced smile, Sebastian nodded to Sophia and the others. “It’s alright. Enora and I were just catching up.”, he said, his voice strained as he tried to hide his disappointment. He nodded shortly to Enora and walked away to avoid any awkward situation.
Lost in his thoughts, Sebastian was startled when he felt a presence behind him. He turned to see Lucas standing there, his expression cold and unreadable as he stared at Sebastian with narrowed eyes. Again, there was this pull, this attraction that he had felt many times already, but this was undoubtedly the worst timing.
“Lucas, what a surprise to see you here.”, Sebastian said, his voice laced with forced politeness as he greeted his old friend from the pack.
Lucas’ lips curled into a sneer as he stepped closer, his gaze locked on Sebastian with undisguised contempt. “I could say the same to you.”, he replied icily, his voice dripping with disdain. Lucas felt a pull to Sebastian, surely because of the hate he felt for the man in front of him.
Sebastian clenched his jaw tight as he braced himself for the confrontation that was to come. He knew that their rivalry ran deep, stemming from a rift between their families that Sebastian didn’t know the details. He just had not expected Lucas to be so openly hostile towards him in such a public setting.
“What do you want, Lucas?”, Sebastian asked, his tone clipped and impatient as he met Lucas’ gaze with a steely resolve. Lucas came from a bloodline of fierce warriors. He hadn’t seen Lucas in many years, but no doubt he would be able to beat him in fight.
“I want to know what your game is.”, he replied, his voice laced with venom.
Sebastian’s brow furrowed in confusion as he regarded Lucas with a wary expression. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”, he said, his voice tinged with irritation, wishing he was still kissing Enora somewhere.
But Lucas was not deterred, his gaze narrowing as he continued to glare at Sebastian with undisguised hostility. “Don’t play dumb with me, Sebastian. I know what you’re up to.”, he spat, his words dripping with contempt.
Sebastian felt a surge of anger rising within him at Lucas’ accusations, his fists clenching at his sides as he struggled to maintain his composure. He knew that their rivalry was far from over, and that Lucas would stop at nothing to thwart his plans.
Before Sebastian could respond, Lucas turned on his heel and stalked away, leaving Sebastian standing there alone in the midst of the crowded venue. As he watched Lucas disappear into the crowd, Sebastian couldn’t help but feel a sense of unease settle over him, a silent reminder of the simmering tensions that lay just beneath the surface.
With a heavy sigh, Sebastian turned and made his way back to the bar, his mind racing with thoughts of Enora and the undeniable connection they shared. He knew that their encounter had been brief, but the memory of her lips on his lingered in his mind, taunting him with what could have been.
The kiss had done nothing to help him get rid of the attraction to her. It had only left him wanting more. Sebastian searched Enora with his eyes, hoping that he would be able to take her to the secluded area later in the evening to finish what they had started.
When he found her on the dance floor with her friends, Sebastian smiled to himself, thinking about all the things that he wanted to do to her later.
