CHAPTER THREE

KIMBERLY's POV

"Sister... I'm dying here... all alone! He didn't come back ... since you left, what's happening ... it's over a week now!!" My sister was crying and screaming into the phone.

For the past week, I hadn't heard anything from her and I thought she was in the hospital with my elder brother, receiving her treatments.

"Agatha! Are you telling me now that Keith didn't come back home with the money? He took the money and left me here ... he took the money... Agatha..." I groaned, all my body aching with pain at once.

I had been working my ass out here for the past week, consoling myself that I belong to a man for the sake of my little sisters' life and yet it wasn't so.

Agatha didn't answer my question anymore, she was wailing loudly into my phone, I heard Jane's voice in the background, soothing her and telling her all would be fine.

I didn't want to talk to Jane in Agatha's presence. For now, I wanted to keep my problem out of my sick sister's face. It would destroy her if she knew what I had to do for her sake, and yet our brother fled with the money.

"I will call you back Agatha. Please just hold on for me." I promised and ended the call. I didn't want to hear her fear and sad cries anymore. It was breaking me. Instead of crying with her on the phone, I needed to act fast.

Immediately I dialed my elder brother's number and I noticed he had blocked me from reaching him. My fury grew beyond imagination. I didn't know I could be that infuriated. I tried and tried again, almost fifty times, hoping it was a network glitch or something else.

"Bastard! Bastard! You will rot in hell.... Ahaaaaaaa! Bastaaaaaaard!" I yelled into my phone and flung it to the other side of my room. The news of what our brother did broke me.

I knew at once that I was in big trouble and predicament. Unconsciously, tears began flowing out of my already swollen eye. Rhona as usual had deprived me of sleep and I was tired.

The whole frustration was compiling in my head and I just let it flow, my sister was dying and I was here rotting away, while our brother spent the money on himself only.

I knew trying to flee from the mansion was a major lie and a waste of time. I had tried it several times, almost every day since my arrival here. The last time I was caught by security. I had to plead with him to keep it a secret, I didn't want to infuriate my owner the more.

"Where is she?" I heard his cold and stern voice. Cleaning my tears as fast as I could I stumbled out of my room. He was back from work and asking after me. That was very weird. We'd hardly shared a full sentence since I arrived.

He was standing in my hallway, tall and sinfully handsome, his tattoos calling loudly unto me. I almost felt like running into his arms for some comfort. For a very brief moment I caught him darting some glances at me with concern, like he knew I was crying but in the blink of an eye, it was gone, like he never cared.

I could never understand the man, one of his powers and special powers I guess. He was so unpredictable, and what he said next confirmed it.

"You and I are going to get married this weekend. I need you to be my wife for two months and..."

I didn't intend for it to happen but the mocking and sad laughter came out from nowhere, I pinched myself afterward just maybe I was dreaming. Today couldn't have gotten worse, he folded his arm and stared at me patiently.

"You must be joking ... marry you? Marry you? Why? For what? What are you saying!" I yelled back at him. He smirked at me and then continued his speech like I didn't just interrupt him with lots of questions.

"Next weekend is our wedding and I need you to be prepared, now listen ... if you cooperate, those two months are the period you will stay in my house. I will let you leave afterward. I'm also not so keen or interested in marrying you, I need you for a court case," he informed me, his voice expressing so uninterested and angry.

I scoffed loudly at him and walked away without giving him a response.

"He's definitely saying gibberish, or maybe I didn't hear right," I thought to myself. To my astonishment he didn't stop me.

After some days I found myself in his office again, this time he didn't send for me, so I went to him myself. He looked at me all over like a police inspecting a criminal, knowing fully well that he had won.

"I will marry you... but on one condition," I added, he shrugged and urged me to speak on. I knew this was my only chance to save Agatha, the reason why I agreed to marry him, although I would have ended up agreeing to his terms because he already owned me.

Stating my conditions at once, I asked for him to treat Agatha until she was fully healed and allowed to live with me in his mansion for those two weeks. I was more than stunned when he asked me if that was all I wanted and agreed to it without any questions.

Craig kept to his word and we got married legally that weekend, my little sister was brought into the mansion where we reunited and he paid professional and expensive doctors to help treat her once. My heart was baffled and confused about how to feel about his help and international assistance.

We were having dinner one evening, and Rhona wasn't back from one of her model shoots. I threw the question at him softly as I served his dinner.

"Why did you buy me exactly... for that big sum of money? One would think you want to sell my body part or something? What do you want from me?"

He looked up at me, chuckled, and opened his mouth to respond to me, then he closed it again, looked away from my face, and took a sip of his water. Then he finally explained again that he needed to be married legally to win a court case against a business rival. He also promised to let me go after two months, "if I still wish to leave" The last sentence was repeated by him about four times.

Of course, I would wish to go, but if you ask me sincerely I didn't want to leave anymore, Craig was beginning to soften and be more open-minded toward me and my stupid heart was also falling mindlessly in love with him, whenever we stood close to each other, sparkles flew around and I feel the tension. He felt the same way too, I hoped.

I kept my distance and guarded my heart. He was a known playboy and men like him had my type for dessert and chewed us out. Finally, I was able to reach my brother with Craigs' help. What he said to me after my confrontation was alarming and ridiculous.

He cursed me and Agatha loudly and warned us never to call him again without any remorse. He agreed that he left with the money intentionally to save his own life and didn't care if we both died.

Agatha and Craig were listening to the conversation too. What shocked us the most was when he revealed that he killed our parents several years ago because of the only property they had; our small and old house. But he got very angry when he found out that it had been willed and assigned to me and my little sister.

He went on by taunting us to find the proof to call him into account for what he did to our parents.

My late parents already knew their son too well. Before they died, he dropped out of school and wasted their hard-earned money.

"I'm tired of you two! I need to move on with my life. Don't look for me. I'm warning you! Also, take what I did as payback. Your stupid parents thought they were smart with leaving the house to you? Well, I got the money back one way or the other," he boasted before switching the call off on us.

For days, I was still thunderstruck by what Keith did. I knew he was a wicked and scary person but being responsible for his own parent's death? And even boasting about it? I closed my heart immediately for any chance of redemption for him because if I meet him now, it was either we killed each other or he killed me.

I thought of going in search of him and strangling him by myself. Maybe I would do just that.

My elder brother doesn't deserve to live!
