Chapter Three

LUTHER'S POV

I hated meetings, the action of it all drove me crazy most of the time but today I was born with it a little better, the mouth around my shaft pulling and sucking had me stiffening involuntarily, it was a nice challenge most days to see how much I could stand before I came down Olivia's throat, she would make a good Luna, very accommodating.

"The Crescent Moon pack has been in chaos, they failed to carry out the rituals and now we might all suffer for it," one of my elders said,

" Hmm" I grunted hoping I didn't give away the fact that I wasn't really listening

"That is easily resolved" Andreas my beta said and I paused looking at him, I liked the man who gave me solutions instead of just problems.

" And what will that be" I asked

"The Beta of the dead Alpha has made a petition, he is surrendering to us"

" Why" I asked and he shrugged

"The girl is getting mated to Zoran," he said and I nodded, the inter-pack rivalry. Was the girl stupid or power-hungry? Zoran would use her up and toss her into the trash like yesterday's paper.

"Well then, why can't we help out a friend" I asked

"Why does Richard want this?" Andreas grinned

" He wants to be your house Alpha" and suddenly I realized what he was doing, it was what all men did when they wanted power and fame, they came to me, betraying all their people and begged

"He'll have to work for it, but what the hell?" I shrugged as I came.

Olivia pulled off and I looked at the men with me

"We'll leave tonight"

We walked through the clearing, we had traveled as wolves but the closer we drew I decided to turn back to my human form, I hid in the trees and watched.

The Alpha's daughter walked down the clearing to where Zoran stood quietly, his robe falling over his big body, his beard black and trimmed, the man looked well put together but I couldn't help but scoff, I couldn't see her from where I was but she did look pretty, her hair was black, straight and stood out in stark contrast to her skin.

What she saw in the man was the security he offered or was it the lure of power to rule over him that intrigued her? If that was the case she was quite a brazen chit.

She stood next to him trying to offer a smile that I could tell was forced and strained, he laughed, his hand landing on her waist as he pulled her close, with his hands going to squeeze her breasts, the vulgar bastard. She jumped in surprise, her cheeks burning as she flushed, which was cute except for the fact that I knew what she really wanted. The priestess looked at them and sighed, I knew her, Adelaide was the priestess who had prophesied my birth and so my mother liked to remind me whenever she thought that I was straying from the path that was meant for me

"Startup old hag" Zoran cursed at her, the man had no respect even for holy things.

She looked at him, her eyes shining with veiled contempt as she began, her lips moved slowly as she chanted the words for the ritual.

I walked to my wolves that were now spread across the clearing just like I wanted them to, I sent the signal and walked towards the wedding.

A loud howl rang through the forest, as I walked everything froze, birds, insects, plants, and everyone else.

I heard the harshness of the breath and almost laughed.

There were many stories about me. I knew most of them. It was surprising that these stories had reached them even here on the edges of the borders.

At thirty years old, I was the strongest Alpha, the Blood Moon Alpha, the one no one dared to cross because I'd rather snap your neck like a twig if you did and pick my teeth with your bones.

I had the largest pack of all packs and I had gotten them by killing and maiming people for decades, so I was not shy of death or bringing it

Blair, the dead Alpha daughter looked good, she gulped, as she stared at me trying to work out why I was here unaware, she had already been sold out, she jostled against Zoran and my wolf growled.

"The Blood king," the priestess said softly, I ignored her

"This wedding is off," I called.

"What the fuck is this" Zoran yelled, Blair moved to him like she wanted to warn him not to do that, but that didn't seem to be working because he charged.

He huffed, striding forward to meet me, with much bluster than strength, strutting into my face, his fingers stabbing at my chest, I looked at them then at him, this idiot was crazy. Blair ran to meet us, reaching for him to stop

"Now look here –" he started and those were the last words I allowed him to have.

I changed in front of them all swiftly at almost lightening speed, bones cracking and reforming right as fur grew out to cover skin, and my wolf stood I was huge, bigger than any wolf I knew of. My coat was a deep shade of black, so that I could blend into the night whenever I wanted, it was something that suited me very well.

I stalked forward and my steps seemed to echo across the forest floor.

I could hear the harsh intake of breaths as I lunged for Alpha Zoran grabbed his neck, my teeth digging into his throat, blood splashed across my skin as he pulled it out in a flash, blood splashed against her dress, bright flecks of red against the white dress she wore.

People screamed out loud, women covering their children's eyes.

I spat out the jugular as the man crumpled to the floor. Sighing in content I changed in front of their eyes, bones cracking and reforming right before them as fur receded into skin, and a man stood in front of them again just as before. I could hear the harsh intake of breaths, on my bloodstained face.

I turned to face the crowd, a dead man at my feet,

" Anyone else?" I growled.
