"You being silent means it's true?" said Zean, concluding as soon as he asked Edwin a question.

Zean took a deep breath, disappointed that Edwin kept it a secret.

“You're keeping something this big a secret, Ed? Are you my best friend? Fuck. You didn't even tell me," Zean looked angry.

Even so, Edwin didn't respond at all, the man's gaze was only focused on the road while driving while Zean sat beside him angrily. What Edwin is thinking about right now is Aneska. An uncertain feeling in his chest made Edwin want to meet the girl immediately.

"Up to you. But, since when?” Zean turned his face towards Edwin and asked again.

"Not long ago," answered Edwin briefly.

Zean looked at Edwin sharply, asking him to explain the situation so that Edwin would marry Zean, even though Edwin had no such intention at all.

"What?!" Zean emphasized.

After taking a deep breath and exhaling roughly, Edwin began to explain.

“I didn't know, but Dad had already planned it. I didn't want anyone else to know, but Mikha had a big mouth, and let the rest of the family know. I don't know how the woman knew," explained Edwin later.

"Wait. Didn't you tell Jessica?" Zean asked.

Edwin shook his head briefly but Zean could still see him.

"Then how does Jessica know that you are married?"

Edwin didn't respond this time, just silently thinking about Zean's question.

"Damn it! Mikha can't stay still at all," complained Zean finally. "So, what's your plan?"

"But this weekend there will be a family meeting to introduce Aneska and confirm my marriage," said Edwin.

"So the girl's name is Aneska?"

Edwin glanced at Zean when the man said Aneska's name, Zean's expression changed slightly into a teasing smile at Edwin.

“I suddenly wonder what kind of girl she is that you didn't give such a harsh rejection. Usually, you refuse, but this time you just seem to comply," said Zean a little sarcastically.

Even so, Ewdin chose to remain silent.

"I will come at the weekend to meet your wife," said Zean.

“You don't have to wait for the weekend to meet the girl,” says Edwin.

Zean looked at him suspiciously.

"Not if you—"

“I will take you to see that girl now.”

After taking extra time and time to convey something to Aneska, Mianca finally explained what she wanted to convey.

Aneska's ex-boyfriend is still asking about this, looking for where Aneska went and even urging Mianca to say it. But Mianca refused, and the man went crazy. Aneska's response to this was just flat and showed no expression at all. So Mianca just said that as an opening.

"I'm grateful that you don't care about that bastard anymore," said Mianca.

Aneska didn't respond because anything related to her ex-boyfriend was completely unimportant.

“Okay, through with that. You still remember the lecturer who guided you in college, right?" Mianca asked.

Aneska's expression changed and she looked at Mianca in surprise.

“Of course, I remember. Why? What's wrong with Professor?” Aneska asked worriedly because she remembered the good relationship between them.

Aneska considers Professor Alex to be a father because the man treats him like a father to Aneska, so kind, patient, and understanding. How can Aneska not worry?

"Okay. But yesterday I met Professor Alex and asked about you. He said was worried because I couldn't contact you, so asked who happened to meet you," answered Mianca.

Hearing that, Aneska breathed a sigh of relief.

"I thought there was something wrong," sighed Aneska.

"But, there is something important that Professor Alex has entrusted me to convey to you," said Mianca.

Aneska raised her face again and looked at her friend.

"What's that?"

However, Mianca stared at Aneska for a long time then sighed.

“Can you make up your mind to accept the offer I am about to make?” Mianca asked.

“What offer? What do you mean? Come on Mianca, just tell me," said Aneska impatiently.

Mianca gave up.

"Professor Alex said, you got a position at ZR Hospital after being recommended. Coincidentally, the doctor on duty was on leave and the hospital was looking for a temporary replacement doctor."

While Mianca explained, Aneska fell silent while thinking, considering the offer.

“That's all I was told. More specifics will be explained when meet," continued Mianca.

Aneska was still thinking silently.

“But even so, you have to go through an interview first.”

Aneska has to think about it more carefully, after all the situation is no longer the same. Aneska can't be free now because she has to get permission first from Edwin and Kira. But Aneska likes hospitals and works to examine sick people. Aneska misses the atmosphere of the emergency room while on duty, the smell of chemical medicine is calming for Aneska even though many people hate it because they don't like the strong smell.

“Aneska?” Mianca moved her hand in front of Aneska's face while saying the girl's name because she looked lost in thought. “What are you thinking? Are you considering a decision?” Mianca asked.

"Can I?"

But Mianca was silent. Of course, Mianca knows very well Edwin's tough nature, so to advise Aneska, Mianca also has to consider everything.

"I'm not sure," said Mianca resignedly.

"Why?" Aneska looked at her friend.

“Because you have to face the devil after all,” Mianca said with a serious expression.

Aneska swallowed hard. The girl certainly knew who Mianca meant.

“But, I miss the hospital atmosphere. I miss the smell of the hospital which makes me calm. I miss the busyness of caring for emergency patients in the emergency unit. I miss that freedom. "But, I realize now," said Aneska weakly.

Mianca repeatedly moved her head, understanding what Aneska was saying.

While other people don't like the strong smell of hospitals, Aneska is the opposite.

"I know what you mean. But, like it or not, I have to face that damn handsome devil. But, maybe you could tell Aunt Kira who is Edwin's controller. That way, you can get advice or maybe more than that."

Aneska thinks it won't be easy, even if Kira allows it, Edwin won't necessarily allow Kira to go back to the hospital. Moreover, there is still Alendra.

"I don't know." Aneska lowered her face, sad because she might not be able to leave the house.

Mianca didn't say anything either, just kept quiet. Until someone said Mianca's name from outside the room.

“Mianca!” A loud exclamation was accompanied by a knock on the wooden door of Mianca's room.

Aneska became even more silent when she heard that voice.
