Chapter 5 The Baby Blue Dress
-BEA -
The guards immediately moved into action by pulling Bea into the room and slamming the door closed.
She tried to run to her Master when the door had opened but she couldn’t move her limbs. She tried to reach for Savonnuh’s hand as it lay against her baby blue dress, but she couldn’t. Nothing would respond to her demands. She could only stand and stare as the guards moved around the room.
One of them grabbed the chair that had been knocked over and stood on top of it to untie the sheets that Savonnuh had used to hang herself with.
Bea stared on as they moved her body over to the bed. Her sightless, dead eyes staring up blindly at the ceiling.
“Fuck.” Yelled the guard that had thrown her food last night.
They had moved to stand on either side of the bed and were looking down at her.
“Why the fuck would she kill herself?” The other one asked. Then after a short pause he said, “Randy, we’re fucked!”
“FUCK!” Randy said again.
“What are we going to do?”
“Fuck.”
“Is that ALL you can say!? If we don’t deliver Savonnuh to the Prince’s castle, Visca is going to eat us and if he doesn’t then who knows what our Alpha will do!”
“I KNOW that Nick but…” He threw his hand out towards Savonnuh.
“Fuck.” This time it was Nick’s turn to say it.
“If only she had waited to off herself until AFTER we delivered her. Now we’re fucked and stuck with the ugly mutt.” They both looked at each other before turning towards Bea. “That’s right. The ugly little Beastly.”
They both started walking towards her, causing her breath to leave her body and her eyes to widen. They were reaching out to her when a bang sounded from the door behind her.
“What’s going on in there!? If there’s any damage, you’ll pay for it out of the Ex-Beta’s pocket!” A muffled yell came through the door.
Randy had his hand outstretched towards Bea as he grinned and said, “Unless you wanna join our little party, scram the fuck on.”
Bea heard more muffled words as they were receding down the hallway. She turned her head to look back at the door and that’s when she felt Randy’s hand touch her face before reaching behind her and grabbing a handful of hair.
“The ugly little Beastly.” He pulled her face up close to his. Pressing his body into hers. “One of your Master’s is dead. Cold. Do you wish to join her?”
Her stomach was constricting, causing tight cramps to wrack her body and her muscles began to shake and shiver uncontrollably. Yet she was still able to shake her head back and forth. Even though his grip on her hair had pain shooting through her scalp.
“Naaah. I didn’t think so. So, what are we going to do?” He pulled her face closer to his, allowing her to smell the alcohol and grease he’d consumed last night. “You’ve still got one Master left, don’t ya?”
Bea’s brow came together as she tried to understand what he was saying.
“You really are a dumb mutt, aren’t you? I’m talking about your Prince. We were informed to bring a bride to Prince Dax and if you want to make sure your cold corpse doesn’t join the missus then you need to make sure you listen to me very carefully.”
Still holding her by the hair, he drug her over to Savonnuh’s body and shoved her face down so that she could see the bruising around her neck and smell the death that was emanating from her.
“You will now be Savonnuh Destran. Your father is Visca Destran, ex-Beta to our Alpha. Your mother is Jules Destran and you are to marry Prince Dax upon arrival at his Castle. You will mention nothing of what happened in this Inn.”
He shoved her face closer to Savonnuh’s until her nose pressed against the coldness of her cheek. She couldn’t stop the vomit that rose into her throat, but she forced herself to swallow it instead of tainting her Master’s beautiful form.
“If you don’t wish to join the icy Lady then you will do exactly as we say. When we say to do it. How we say to do it. Is that clear, little Beast?”
She nodded but regretted it instantly as her nose drug down Savonnuh’s cold face.
Randy pulled her up to standing and slowly lifted his fingers from her hair. He stood back and bowed his head lightly to her.
“Ms. Savonnuh, please get dressed as we prepare to leave for Dax's Castle.” Her gaze followed as he raised his hand and gestured at Savonnuh's body.
No. He couldn’t mean… “Y-y-you can’t want me to put on her… dress?” She turned her head back to Randy and waited for his answer.
A disgusting grin spread across his face. “Waste not, want not.”
A wicked shiver slid up her body.
Time seemed to slip from her grasp at that moment. She knew that she’d removed Savonnuh’s dress and put it on her thin body. It hung off her form like a potato sack. She knew the guards had stuffed Savonnuh’s body into the luggage and carried her away. She knew they had left the Inn, all the while the guards were calling her Ms. Savonnuh and treating her like a lady.
She felt outside her body. Like she was watching someone else walk around and live. It was her voice when she spoke but it seemed like someone else’s words that came out.
The carriage came to a halt, and it was here that time returned to normal for Bea. She looked down at her hands as they rested in her lap. The color of her skin was so much darker than her Master’s. The memory of Savonnuh’s hand resting against the blue fabric, flashed in Bea’s mind. She bent over the seat and dry heaved. Since they hadn't fed her all day, there was nothing in her stomach to come out. She wasn't sure if she should be happy or angry over that fact.
The door to the carriage opened and a hand came into view. The guard’s words from this morning came back to her, “Join the icy Lady.” And a chill ran down her arms.
She slid her hand into his and looked behind him at the view before her. A large white castle rose high into the sky. Rows of servants stood before her and a tall, thin man in a tight suit stood in the middle.
Leaving the group, the man walked towards her and stopping in front of her, bowed his head and said. “Ms. Savonnuh.”
