Chapter 3 Two Weeks Pregnant

Lauren hit the bed so hard that her short skirt rode up a few inches.

She felt a sudden chill between her legs and frantically tried to pull her skirt down, but the more she panicked, the clumsier she got.

"It looks like you're more eager than I am," Quentin smirked.

"No, that's not it..." she tried to explain, but Quentin didn't give her a chance. He reached out and unbuttoned her top.

Her chest was exposed, the white lace of her bra peeking through, and her cleavage now in plain sight.

Instinctively, Lauren tried to cover her chest, but in her struggle, she only revealed more.

Her already prominent breasts became even more noticeable with her rapid breathing.

Quentin looked down at Lauren lying on the bed.

Her proud curves and graceful figure were fully on display.

"Tell me, what do you want from me? Seducing me like this, what's your endgame?" Quentin's hand gripped Lauren's neck, his eyes cold and ruthless.

Lauren suddenly fell silent, then slowly uttered a few words.

All she wanted was this, but she knew Quentin would never give it to her.

"Are you unhappy? Here, have some candy. It'll make you happy all day." Lauren said.

Half a month had passed in the blink of an eye.

Lauren sat on a bench in the hospital garden, staring blankly as she recalled the doctor's words. Suddenly, a little girl appeared in front of her.

The girl, dressed in a hospital gown with cute pigtails, spoke to her in a childish voice, holding a pink candy in her small hand.

"Thank you." Lauren said.

Lauren watched as the little girl smiled sweetly at her simple thank you, her adorable little teeth showing.

The girl waved and ran off, and in that moment, Lauren's confused mindset shifted.

If only her child could be as innocent and carefree.

Lauren gently placed her hand on her lower abdomen, where a small life was growing, and she smiled.

Her period had been late, so she had scheduled a gynecological check-up that morning. To her surprise, the gynecologist had referred her to the obstetrics department. "This isn't a gynecological issue. Take your test results to obstetrics."

Hearing this, a wild thought had crossed Lauren's mind, filled with both anticipation and fear.

The feeling intensified as she waited in the obstetrics waiting room.

"According to your blood test results, you're two weeks pregnant. Congratulations." The obstetrician smiled.

"I'm pregnant?" Lauren sat dumbfounded on the bench, staring at the test report in the doctor's hand.

Could a single piece of paper really confirm her pregnancy? Was there no mistake?

"Don't worry, blood tests are very accurate," the doctor reassured her, sensing her disbelief. "Come back in a month with a family member for an ultrasound. The results will be more precise, and you'll be able to see the baby."

After giving her some advice, the doctor sent her on her way.

Lauren sighed as she sat on the bench, thinking about the doctor's suggestion to bring a family member for the next check-up. Her head throbbed.

Quentin was probably the last person in the world who would be happy, or even tolerate, her pregnancy.

Lauren laughed bitterly. Being a child not wanted by their father must be so hard.

Half a month ago, Quentin had asked her what she wanted.

Her answer had been, "I want a child."

She would never forget the look of undisguised disgust and loathing on Quentin's face when he heard her say that.

"You?" Quentin had looked her up and down, full of arrogance. "What makes you think you're worthy of having my child? A woman like you doesn't deserve to be the mother of my child."

The contempt in Quentin's eyes was unmistakable. He looked at her as if she were trash.

Thinking about it made Lauren's breathing quicken again. Even after all this time, it still hurt.

She slowly moved her hand away from her stomach. Seeing the pink candy in her palm, she thought of the little girl's sweet smile, and her heart felt like it was being pricked by needles.

She couldn't give up on this child. Even without a father, the baby was still eagerly awaited by its mother.

Lauren shook her head firmly, her expression resolute. She stood up and left the hospital.

She needed to find Quentin.

With a deep breath, Lauren gently touched her lower abdomen.

She couldn't understand why Quentin despised her so much.

If it weren't for Jessica's illness, she had planned to stay quietly in the Robinson family, living as the nominal Mrs. Robinson.

Quentin's words, "unworthy" and "not qualified," had pierced her heart like a sharp sword.

"Destination reached." The cold mechanical voice of the taxi's GPS pulled her out of her sorrow.

Lauren paid the fare and stood in front of the company building, walking in without hesitation.

The building was filled with stylish, well-dressed professionals, making her stand out like a sore thumb.

Just like she had forced her way into Quentin's life, she didn't belong here.

"Can I help you?" the receptionist asked kindly.

"I'm here to see Mr. Robinson," Lauren said. "Call him and tell him Lauren Walker is here. He'll let me up."

The receptionist hesitated for a moment, then called Quentin and relayed the message. She nodded at Lauren. "Ms. Walker, this way, please."

Lauren thanked her and stepped into the elevator.

As the elevator ascended, her heart began to race.

In the quiet elevator, she couldn't help but recall the phone call she had made to Quentin on the way.

But it wasn't Quentin who answered.

A woman's sweet voice came through the receiver, "Who are you looking for? Mr. Robinson is busy right now and can't take your call."

Lauren felt like she was being strangled, her throat too dry to speak.

"Who is it?" Quentin's deep, slightly hoarse voice asked. Even a fool could tell what they were doing.

"I don't know, no one spoke. Mr. Robinson, forget the phone, let's continue. I'm not satisfied yet." The woman's voice was soft and coquettish, dripping with seduction.

"Still want more?" Quentin chuckled. Whatever he did next made the woman moan in pleasure.

Lauren had tightened her grip on the phone and quickly hung up.

But she didn't turn back. She still came to Quentin's company.

She couldn't be weak anymore. She had to be strong, for her child's sake.
