Chapter 72 - After Boss Dar Left

The next day, everything was peaceful at Gerthel's farm. Boss Dar decided to stay with Gerthel the whole day. He stayed with her even the next day.

"Are you sure you still want to stay here for a couple of days?" Boss Dar asked Gerthel. He wanted Gerthel to come with him in going back to the mansion. If only he had no urgent matters to attend to in the city, he would not leave Gerthel at her farm.

Gerthel nodded and enclosed his waist with her arms. She then tiptoed and kissed him lightly on his right cheek. "I will be fine here. I missed this place so much. Please let me stay for at least another three days," she said thereafter, pleading with him.

“Alright. Just three days, my love, and I will come to fetch you,” Boss said agreeing. He then cupped her face and kissed her deeply a couple of times before he left her.

She watched him walk toward his parked car with her heart full of love and with a broad smile. She only got inside her house when she saw his car pass through their farm’s gate.

As she entered her room, a certain longing for Boss Dar’s presence suddenly hit her. She sat on the edge of the bed and took a deep breath. Sleepiness started to cloud her senses that made her lay her back on the bed. Last night, Boss Dar almost did not allow her to sleep. He seemed to be full of energy he did not waste time making more memories, making love with her.

She did not control herself from sleeping and just after a while, she succumbed to slumber. She did not notice the passing of time. She was only awakened when one of her temporary helpers knocked on her door telling her that it was lunchtime and food has been prepared on the table already.

After having her lunch, Gerthel decided to check on her horse in their farm's stable, which she was happy and thankful upon seeing that it was well kept and her horse was still there alive and healthy.

Seeing her horse, she could not help to remember her mother, who taught her how to ride a horse. Sadness filled her heart. She caressed the back of the horse and tears slowly fell from her eyes.

Gerthel stayed in the stable with her horse for a few minutes before she left and walked toward the garden and picked some colorful flowers. Thereafter she went to the graveyard to visit her mother, best friend Karla, and the latter’s parents. She put on flowers on each of their graves and uttered a prayer for their souls. She does not want to maintain the sadness and longing that she was feeling, but she could not help it knowing that all the people she loves were gone. They were gone just like that. In a flash, they were not with her anymore. Suddenly, she was alone. No family, no close friends.

She stayed for a while in front of her mother’s grave and spoke at her mother as if she was alive and in front of her.

“Momma, I found my first mate on the day of my eighteenth birthday. He was the Alpha of the Blue Wave Pack. But, he rejected me outright and even killed Karla and her parents. I hated him for that and I swear, if I will be given a chance and enough power, I will kill him to avenge. I had lived in my darkest corner, alone, and felt like the Moon Goddess has cursed me and left me, yet she had a better plan. A beautiful plan. The Moon Goddess gave me a second mate. He is Boss Dar, Momma, Darwish Vertooz. He is a gorgeous man, and indeed a man to die for. Although they said he is a cold-blooded Mafia Lord, but to me, he is such a gentle, loving, and caring man. I could not ask for more.” Her voice started to shake but a smile settled on her lips. She is happy to have a second chance mate and she bet that if her Momma was alive, she will be the happiest mother for seeing her happy and contented at this moment.

“How I wish, you were able to meet, Boss Dar, Momma,” she muttered, still with her lips laced with a smile, although her voice broke and tears run down her cheeks.

“So, that Mafia Lord was the reason why you wanted to accept my rejection now. I am sorry to tell you this, but I cannot allow that, Gerthel, because you are my mate and not anyone else!” Suddenly, a familiar voice was heard by Gerthel a few inches from her back.

Gerthel abruptly turned her back and face the man who intrude her moment with her moment in her mother’s grave. She squinted her eyes and looked at him with disgust. “You are late already Alpha Leeno. I was marked and claimed already by Boss Dar. You cannot claim me anymore. I, Gerthel Maurii, reject you, Alpha Leeno Treeton as my mate, and from now on, our mate bond will cease!” she said immediately before Alpha Leeno could say something more.

Alpha Leeno’s eyes grew big and fierce as he heard what Gerthel has said. In one second, she already held her neck off to check if what she said was true. Seeing her mark which confirmed the truth of what Gerthel has said, Alpha Leeno’s teeth gritted and he howled with madness.

Before Gerthel could react Alpha Leeno’s hand moved swiftly and covered her mouth with a wet cloth, which suddenly caused her to slowly feel hazy, her knees weakened and she felt her eyes want to succumb to sleep. Until, she could not hold herself anymore, and she fall asleep in Alpha Leeno’s arms.

Alpha Leeno looked at Gerthel with fury still shining in his eyes. He looked around and upon seeing that no one was around except them, he immediately carried her and ran in a flash until he reached his waiting car a few kilometers away from the place of Gerthel.
