Breaking the Rules

Isadora

I glanced around the VIP area, watching everyone having a great time, including my friends, and a genuine feeling of joy spread across my face. It was my first time traveling with friends and truly immersing myself in the carnival spirit.

As the loud beats boomed from the float, a voice broke through the noise.

"Isadora!" My friend Jennifer’s voice stood out.

I moved closer to her to hear better, and she gestured with her head to where I should look. I followed her gaze and couldn’t believe what I saw.

"Professor Lucchese?!" My voice betrayed my surprise.

“It’s hard to believe, even seeing it with my own eyes,” she confirmed what I was thinking.

We shared a silly smile, completely captivated by the situation. Lucchese is one of our professors at the university. Economics classes became much more interesting after he took over, and I never missed a single one. I kept admiring the man across the VIP area, tempted to make a move.

However, our attention was diverted by our other friends, who joined us, handing out drinks and pulling us into the party.

We all study at the same university. This year, we decided to experience the Salvador carnival together as a group, including me, my best friend Jennifer, Benny, and Johnny. It was the first day of celebration, and we were thrilled by the contagious energy of the event.

I looked toward the professor again and met Lucchese's green eyes fixed on me. He always smiled in a way that shook me to my core, leaving my legs trembling. It was surreal to see the serious, proper professor from campus here, in the middle of Salvador’s carnival.

As I danced and had fun with my friends, I kept glancing at the professor, trying to maintain eye contact and convey the interest I felt for him. Each time our eyes met, a new wave of emotion swept over me, filling me with a mix of anxiety and excitement. I knew exactly what it meant, but finding the courage to act on it was an entirely different challenge.

Lucchese is a breathtaking man, and I worried he might realize just how much his gaze affected me. Besides being tall and well-built, his smile could make any woman fall head over heels for him, let alone me, who spent every class practically drooling over him.

He had tan skin, green eyes, and black hair—a combination that would make any sexually active woman swoon, especially me, who could barely focus during his lectures. While he seemed relaxed, enjoying the atmosphere with a drink in his hand, I was consumed by sinful thoughts, unable to take my eyes off this wonderfully crafted specimen of male perfection.

Weighing my chances, I decided that nothing ventured, nothing gained. We weren’t at the university. Here, he wasn’t my professor, and I wasn’t his student. I was fully aware of my beauty, and while I might lack experience in flirting, I knew how to put my charm to work. I began locking eyes with my professor at every opportunity, trying to send the message that I was very interested in getting to know him better—much better.

I briefly looked away from my professor, who had done nothing to encourage me so far, and only then noticed Jennifer making out with Johnny. We were all leaning against the front railing of the VIP area, and they were putting on a show with their heated kisses, tongues entwined, and Johnny’s hands roaming recklessly over Jennifer’s body.

We’ve been studying together for almost two years, and they had never shown any interest in each other before. It seemed like that had changed, and now I’d be the odd one out, especially since Benny was also in a romantic mood with a girl standing right next to me.

I searched for Professor Lucchese again, scanning the crowd, but this time, I couldn’t find him. I looked everywhere, dreading the thought that he, too, might have found someone to enjoy the night with.

Feeling my excitement for the first day of carnival begin to wane, I suddenly felt someone wrap their arms around me from behind, and I tensed up immediately. Despite having had a few drinks, I wasn’t the type to let just anyone get close to me, especially not like that.

I tried to turn around to see the man who was holding me so intimately, but the scent that enveloped me filled me with hope before I could. It was the same fragrance Professor Lucchese always wore. My heart raced, but I couldn’t confirm it was him because he gently held my head, stopping me from turning to look.

I considered pulling away, but then he leaned in and pressed his lips to my ear, about to say something. The mere sensation of his mouth brushing against my earlobe sent shivers coursing through my entire body.

“Enjoying the party?” he asked.

There was no mistaking that voice—deep, sensual, and the same one that always stirred something within me during his lectures.

“Lucchese?” I breathed my excitement barely contained.

“Who else?”

I could hardly believe it as he began to plant soft kisses along my neck before I even had a chance to recover from my surprise. But the sensations quickly overwhelmed me, and I gave in to them. His kisses turned into gentle nibbles on my earlobe, leaving me completely at the mercy of desire.

As much as I had fantasized about this exact scenario, it was almost impossible to reconcile the image of this passionate man kissing me so provocatively in the middle of a carnival party with the serious and demanding Professor Lucchese from university. Yet here he was, driving me wild with desire, and I had no intention of stopping him.

“I can’t resist you anymore,” he murmured, his lips never leaving my skin.

His kisses became more fervent, alternating with light bites and nibbles, and I began to wonder if I was dreaming. It felt too good to be true. Still, I surrendered to the moment, letting the sensations consume me completely.

Despite locking eyes with him since I first spotted him in the VIP area, I hadn’t truly believed I stood a chance with the most attractive—and strict—professor at the university. But it seemed I had been entirely wrong.

“I still can’t believe this is happening,” I admitted, unable to contain myself.

“What do you say we just enjoy these moments and forget all the reasons we shouldn’t be doing this?” he suggested, a captivating smile on his handsome face.

His words made perfect sense. I was his student, and he was twice my age. But none of that mattered. I wasn’t going to let anything stop me from savoring this night with him.

“Well then,” I teased, pulling away slightly and extending my hand as if for a formal introduction, “I don’t think we’ve been properly introduced… I’m Isadora.”

“And I’m Matteo,” he replied, playing along. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Isadora.”

No sooner had the words left his mouth than he pulled me back into his arms, claiming my lips in a searing kiss.

"I want more," I said, still feeling unsatisfied and yearning for him.

Those stolen moments amidst a crowd weren’t enough to quench the desire I felt for my professor. I needed so much more.

"I want to spend the night with you. I promise it’ll be worth the wait," Matteo whispered in my ear, his warm breath sending shivers down my spine.

"I have no doubt about that," I replied, my heart racing with excitement as he pulled me onto the dance floor.

Our bodies moved in perfect sync, our hands exploring each other’s contours as though trying to memorize every curve.

As the night wore on, the music grew louder, and our dancing became more uninhibited. Matteo and I were no exception, casting off any hesitations as we moved together. It was a side of him I’d never seen in the classroom—relaxed, carefree, and full of life.

At one point, Matteo leaned close to me, his lips brushing my ear.

"What do you think about coming to my apartment?" he asked, his voice sultry, leaving me speechless.

There was no denying the gleam in my eyes at that moment. I didn’t think twice before replying.

"I need to let my friend know I’m leaving with you."

"Of course. I noticed you’re here with Jennifer," Matteo remarked, a slightly wry smile on his lips. "The others I didn’t recognize."

"They’re not in the same program as Jennifer and me."

Matteo didn’t seem concerned about the fact that other students might see us together, and I wasn’t about to dwell on it either. All I wanted was to seize this chance to be with Matteo Lucchese.

"I can’t believe it," Jennifer said when I told her I was leaving with our professor.

Matteo waited at a slight distance, and when he noticed Jennifer staring, he gave her a quick wave.

"We’re leaving now too," Jennifer declared, signaling to Benny and walking over to Johnny.
