Engagement

The next day early morning Kyler Young and Stephen Young finally left for their headquarters in Devil City. Spring Island has basically seven districts, and each district has two cities. The whole island is very developed and advanced in technology, but while the rest of the world gives more importance to the entertainment industry, the focus of Spring Island aims to nurture martial arts talent in their youth. Thus, every family in every city on the island had to spend at least 10 years in martial arts training.

As for Kyler Young, he lives in Devil City, but its initial name was Star City, based on the northern star in the sky, which shines the brightest. However, as Kyler Young's organization started taking over in the past 10 years, people started calling it Devil City.

As for Arielle Reynolds, her organization was built in Crystal City, as in old times, many crystals were found there.

When Kyler Young reached his headquarters, all the guards greeted him, and his assistant Nikolas came to welcome him. After reaching his office, Nikolas started telling all the details of events that happened in the last two days when he left for Eldoria City in the north region and informed him of a meeting scheduled for that afternoon. Kyler Young listened to everything in detail and asked him to leave, but Nikolas didn't immediately leave, seemingly having something on his mind.

Kyler Young's brows furrowed in curiosity as he asked, "What's wrong?"

Nikolas hesitated, his tone tinged with concern as he replied, "Boss, earlier, the Young Master of William Family came by."

Kyler Young's expression remained unreadable as he inquired, "So?"

Nikolas continued, a hint of apprehension in his voice, "He wanted to invite you to a painting exhibition happening two days later." He knew his boss never attended such events, but the William Family couldn't be taken lightly.

Kyler Young's eyes narrowed slightly in contemplation as he questioned, "Did you decline?"

Nikolas responded, his voice tinged with cautiousness, "No, boss. I told him I would respond to them after letting you know."

Kyler Young's expression shifted slightly, his brow furrowing slightly. "Don't you know my answer already?"

Nikolas hesitated, a hint of concern evident in his tone as he replied, "But boss, I think you should attend. After all, they are from the William Family, and we have several business deals with them too."

Kyler Young pondered for a moment, then decided with a nod. "Okay, free my schedule that day."

Nikolas's relief was palpable as he nodded in agreement. "Hehe, boss, I already cleared it."

Kyler Young was speechless when he heard it.

At the same time, at a certain mansion in Crystal City under the Reynolds Family, Arielle Reynolds was sitting at the dining table. Seated next to her was her elder brother, Asher Reynolds, and across from her were her mother, Celine Brown, and Father Nathaniel Reynolds.

Nathaniel Reynolds is a tall man with broad shoulders and a commanding presence. His hair, once dark, is now streaked with silver, giving him a distinguished look. He has piercing blue eyes that seem to miss nothing, and his jaw is strong, adding to his imposing demeanor. Meanwhile Celine Brown has an elegant appearance with refined features and graceful movements. Her hair, a lustrous chestnut brown, cascades down her shoulders in soft waves. She has warm hazel eyes that exude kindness and wisdom, and her smile lights up the room. As for Arielle's Brother Asher, He has tousled chestnut hair that falls casually over his forehead, and his piercing blue eyes hold a hint of mischief. He has a strong jawline and a confident posture that adds to his charm.

They were having breakfast when a servant came by, leading a man who looked to be in his mid-twenties. He had a handsome appearance with dark hair neatly styled and dark brown eyes sparkling with intelligence, and his attitude made people automatically try to befriend him.

When Nathaniel Reynolds saw who had arrived, he automatically smiled at the young man and asked him to take a seat, inviting him to join them for breakfast. He asked, "Ryan William, how come you came over early in the morning? Is everything alright?"

Ryan William, the young master of the William Family, which owns various properties on Spring Island, was well renowned in martial arts and arts and culture, especially paintings. He first greeted everyone and politely refused breakfast, saying, "Sorry, uncle, I already had breakfast at home. I came here to invite you to my painting exhibition that is two days later, and you all must come." As he spoke, he handed out invitation cards to everyone.

Asher was the first to take an invitation, which he immediately opened without caring that he had oil on his hands from the food he was eating. When his mother saw her eldest son's behavior, she was immediately enraged, scolding, "I say, son, is someone taking away your invitation card? Can't you open it after cleaning your hands?"

Arielle Reynolds just sighed when she saw her older brother's manners.

Asher Reynolds immediately retorted, "Mother, what do you know? It's Old Brother William's painting invitation. Of course, I have to open it immediately."

Arielle Reynolds's father, Nathaniel, witnessed his son's disrespectful behavior and felt a surge of anger. He promptly slapped him on the head, saying, "Punk, watch your manners and how you talk to your mother."

Asher Reynolds felt a surge of indignation at his father's reaction, his brows furrowing as he exclaimed, "Dad, what's wrong with my manners talking to my mother?"

Arielle Reynolds's father responded sternly, "The way you retorted."

Reynolds Asher defended himself, "I just spoke."

Seeing their argument escalating, Arielle Reynolds intervened, attempting to diffuse the tension. "Dad, never mind, brother. He probably got excited."

Arielle Reynolds's father's demeanor softened slightly upon hearing his daughter's words. "Learn from your sister, Asher. You are older than her but still not mature yet."

Asher Reynolds then stood up, his frustration palpable in the way he pushed his chair back with a screech against the floor. With an exasperated sigh, he started walking away with Ryan William, their footsteps echoing through the room as they retreated from the tense atmosphere at the table. "I am full," he muttered under his breath, his tone tinged with annoyance. "I am going back to the academy with my old brother."

Ryan William nodded in understanding, offering a sympathetic smile and taking his leave from the Reynolds Family. With a polite nod to Arielle Reynolds's parents, he followed Asher out of the room, the weight of the unresolved tension lingering in the air even after they had departed.

Later that afternoon, the atmosphere in the conference room at Devil Organization was heavy with tension, palpable enough to make the air feel thick and suffocating. Kyler Young, seated at the main head seat, exuded an aura of authority and seriousness, his features set in a stern expression as he surveyed the room. Beside him, Nikolas, his loyal assistant, stood at attention, mirroring his boss's demeanor with a sense of unwavering dedication.

On Kyler's left sat Stephen Young, his presence adding an extra layer of gravity to the room. The other heads of different departments, scattered around the table, wore expressions ranging from concern to apprehension, their collective focus honed on the discussion at hand.

The subdued lighting in the room cast elongated shadows across the polished surface of the conference table, further enhancing the somber atmosphere. The occasional sound of shuffling papers and the soft hum of electronic devices were the only disruptions to the heavy silence that hung over the room like a thick fog.

The goal of today's meeting was to discuss the traitors of the Young Family.

Kyler Young asked everyone to track all the data of their activities a few days back. Now it was their time to show the information they collected in the past few days.

Thus, he asked his assistant, Nikolas, to collect the relevant documents that were placed before them. When Nikolas gave these documents to Kyler Young, he skimmed over them but didn't find anything special. Thus, he said coldly, "I gave you so many days for this task, and this is all you got?!"

When they heard Kyler Young, everyone looked at each other's faces and remained quiet.

"I am asking you something, Manager Isaac. Research is your specialized area, so where are the results?!" Kyler Young's stern inquiry pierced the room, causing Manager Isaac to shrink back in fear, unable to respond.

Turning to another department head, Kyler continued, "Manager Mason, head of travel tracking, where are all the reports of his movements?" Manager Mason, hearing his name, also rose with a bowed head, mirroring Manager Isaac's apprehension, hairs raising on both of their heads.

Kyler Young asked every other manager for their assigned work, but to his dismay, silence met his inquiries. The lack of response weighed heavily on the atmosphere, intensifying Kyler's frustration and anger.

Then Stephen Young said to Kyler Young in a low voice, "Bro, how about we directly tell Grandma about the Harper Family? I am sure she will believe you."

Kyler Young directly denied him, saying, "Without evidence, no matter what we say, it will be in vain."

Stephen Young persisted, "But it's related to Grandpa. She will believe you."

Kyler Young responded with a hint of frustration, "They have taken years to build this trust. It can't be shaken easily."

Kyler Young's tone grew stern as he urged them to persist in their search. "If you can't find anything useful within a month," he warned, "you will all be dismissed." With a decisive nod, he concluded the meeting and left, leaving behind a sense of urgency and tension in the air.

When they all witnessed Kyler Young's departure, a collective sigh of relief escaped their lips. "That was close," they mused in unison.

Observing their relaxed demeanor, Stephen Young interjected, "It's still too early to relax. After all, you only have one month, so work hard!"

Then Manager Isaac, unable to contain his frustration any longer, addressed Stephen Young, "Young Master Stephen, Boss has an engagement with the daughter of Harper Family, so why is Boss hellbent on investigating them?"

The others echoed their inquiries to Stephen Young.

Meanwhile, Stephen Young was taken aback by this and retorted, "Enough! There's no such engagement, and my brother is still very much single. Manager Isaac, ensure you never raise this question again, or if my brother hears, he will fire you before a month's end."
