Chapter 9 - No money involve

As Giselle's expression shifted to one of anxiety, her parents, Robert and Helen, couldn't help but notice the sudden change in their daughter's demeanor. Concern etched their features as they exchanged worried glances.

"What's wrong, sweetheart?" Helen asked gently, reaching out to place a comforting hand on Giselle's arm. "You seem tense. Is something bothering you?"

Giselle hesitated for a moment, her gaze flickering uncertainly between her family members. Finally, she took a deep breath and spoke, her voice tinged with apprehension. "It's Shane... he's different."

Robert furrowed his brow, his concern deepening. "Different how?" he inquired, his tone filled with curiosity and concern. "Did something happen during the interview?"

Giselle nodded, her anxiety mounting with each passing moment. "Yes, something happened," she admitted reluctantly. "But it's not what you think..."

Cindy, Giselle's older sister, frowned in confusion. "What do you mean?" she asked, her brow furrowing with concern. "Did Shane do something to upset you?"

Giselle shook her head, her nerves getting the better of her as she struggled to find the right words. "No, it's not that," she explained, her voice faltering slightly. "It's just... Shane isn't exactly what he seems."

Jon, Giselle's older brother, raised an eyebrow in confusion. "What do you mean by that?" he asked, his curiosity piqued. "Is he hiding something?"

Giselle took a deep breath, steeling herself for their reaction. "Yes," she admitted hesitantly. "He's a werewolf."

The room fell silent as Giselle's words hung in the air, her family members processing the shocking revelation. For a moment, disbelief clouded their expressions as they struggled to comprehend the truth of Giselle's words.

Robert's eyes widened in surprise, his mind reeling with disbelief. "A werewolf?" he repeated incredulously. "You can't be serious..."

Helen's expression mirrored her husband's disbelief as she shook her head in confusion. "But... how is that possible?" she asked, her voice tinged with uncertainty. "Are you sure you're not just pulling our leg?"

Giselle nodded solemnly, her anxiety mounting with each passing second. "I wish I was," she confessed, her voice barely above a whisper. "But it's true. Shane told me himself."

Cindy's frown deepened as she exchanged a puzzled glance with Jon. "But why would Shane tell you something like that?" she wondered aloud, her confusion evident in her voice. "And why now?"

Giselle shrugged helplessly, her nerves fraying at the seams as she struggled to find an explanation. "I don't know," she admitted, her voice tinged with frustration. "He just... he seemed different, and I felt like I had to tell someone."

Jon's brow furrowed in thought as he considered Giselle's words. "So... what does this mean for you?" he asked, his voice filled with concern. "Are you in danger?"

Giselle shook her head, her anxiety giving way to a sense of determination. "No, I don't think so," she replied, her voice steadier now. "Shane assured me that I'm safe, but... I just needed you all to know the truth."

Robert and Helen exchanged a knowing glance, their concern for their daughter evident in their eyes. "Well, regardless of what Shane is, your safety is our top priority," Robert declared firmly

Helen nodded in agreement, her expression determined. "Yes, we'll do whatever it takes to protect you," she affirmed, her voice unwavering. "But for now, let's try to stay calm and figure out our next steps."

Giselle felt a wave of relief wash over her as she looked around at her family, grateful for their unwavering support.

Jon, sitting across from Giselle, furrowed his brows in concern as he voiced the question that had been on his mind since Giselle dropped her bombshell. "Do you still want to marry a werewolf?" he asked, his tone laced with apprehension.

Cindy, seated beside Jon, leaned forward anxiously, her eyes wide with disbelief. "I never believed werewolves still existed," she interjected, her voice tinged with incredulity.

Robert, Giselle's father, nodded thoughtfully, his gaze drifting to his daughter. "That might explain why this Mr. Shane David seems so secretive," he mused, his tone reflective. Beside him, Helen, Giselle's mother, silently concurred, her expression mirroring her husband's contemplative demeanor.

Giselle, feeling the weight of their collective gaze, shifted uncomfortably in her seat. She hesitated, grappling with the complexity of her emotions. How could she possibly articulate the whirlwind of thoughts swirling within her?

As Jon's question hung in the air, Giselle sighed heavily, her shoulders slumping under the weight of uncertainty. "It's... it's all so overwhelming," she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper. "But there's something about Shane..."

Cindy's eyes widened in realization as she connected the dots. "Wait, so you're serious? You're actually considering marrying a werewolf?" she exclaimed, disbelief coloring her tone.

"I know it's a lot to take in," Giselle began, her voice steady despite the turmoil roiling within her.

"Giselle, sweetheart, please tell me you're not considering marrying Shane just because he's wealthy," Helen implored, her gaze piercing as she searched her daughter's eyes for reassurance.

Giselle, taken aback by the intensity of her mother's question, shook her head adamantly. "No, Mom, of course not," she replied, her voice firm with conviction. "Money has never been a priority for me when it comes to matters of the heart."

Robert, Giselle's father, nodded in agreement, his expression reflecting the gravity of the situation. "We've always raised you to value love and integrity above all else," he added, his tone gentle yet resolute. "We just want to make sure you're making this decision for the right reasons."

Giselle's older brother, Jon, chimed in, his brow furrowed with concern. "But Giselle, marrying a werewolf? That's a whole new level of... complication," he remarked, his voice tinged with uncertainty.

Cindy, Giselle's older sister, nodded in agreement, her expression mirroring her brother's apprehension. "I mean, what do we even know about this Shane guy?" she questioned, her tone skeptical. "He could be hiding all sorts of secrets."

Giselle sighed, feeling the weight of her family's apprehension bearing down on her. "I understand your concerns, I really do," she began, her voice tinged with frustration.
