CHAPTER 1

"What is this?" Chloe Faracdo asked looking at me with a disgusted expression etched on her face.

"The food you asked for." I said looking down at the shoes that I had on.

"This isn't what I asked for you piece of shit. Didn't you hear what I said? Or are you just deaf?" Her words were harsh and filled with spite, however none of them phased me in the slightest.

"But you said that you wanted a chicken wing, coated in thick gravy, along with apple juice."

"I said, I wanted a can of apple juice. Apple Juice," she put enough stress on each letter as if she was talking to a child. Sometimes that's what she usually do, speak to me like a child despite the fact that I am two years older than her.

Chloe Faracdo is the daughter of one of the high ranking warriors that works directly for the alpha. Due to her high status she treats everyone around her like they bottom barrel trash.

"Anyways, you very lucky that I am in a good mood. Prince Kurt is coming over her to once again grace us in his presence." She said, then she looked at me, "and you should steer clear from me or him."

Why is she even acting like as if she stands a chance, when Rachel Clark is literally there?

"I won't stand in your way ma'am." I said in a sarcastic tone, and she left me standing there. I let out a sigh while using my fingers to rub my temple to try and calm my throbbing headache.

She is always trying so hard to be a mean girl, just because her father spoils her with so many things. Stupid bitch.

Since Alpha Kurt or rather Prince Kurt as he likes to be addressed is coming over, might as well follow Chloe's advice and avoid him the best way that I can.

I have encountered Alpha Kurt once–well not technically encounter, more like just observe his behavior from the sidelines–and trust me the encounter was not one that I liked or would like to remember. All I can say is that His Royal Majesty Prince Kurt is a douchebag.

From always seemingly thinking that he is better than other people, to being rude to people that he is suppose to protect. I sometimes wonder if the girls that swoon over him just choose to ignore the glaring red flags that is being thrown at their face just because he just happened to be hot.

Even I myself can't deny the fact that he is a goodlooking man, sadly he is a terrible person with a terrible personality.

I entered inside my room, and sat on the bed. I didn't realize that I was hungry till I felt my stomach grumble. I groan in frustration at the fact that I forgot to bring food here to eat with me.

And I can't go out, cause I was avoiding Kurt, and God knows how long it would take before he actually leaves.

There was a knock on my door, and then the door opened up and in came Dennis, with a tray of food. I  looked at him like he was an angel, well technically he is an angel that has been standing up for me for the longest time now.

He came closer with the tray of food gently balanced on his hands. He sat down on the bed and shot a smile at me.

"I am one hundred percent sure that you are hungry." He said handing a spoon over to me, I took it from him without hesitation.

"You have no idea," I said taking a spoonful of rice along with curry and eating along with it.

"Hey did you know that Prince Kurt is currently outside addressing all the females? Why aren't you there with them?" He asked opening a bottle of water and drinking out of it.

"Cause I don't want too. What is saying to them?" I asked out of curiosity.

"Oh, he is talking about The Mate Picking Ceremony. He is just telling all the girls that his mate can never come from any of them that is at the bottom of the Level 3."

Typical. I absolutely despise him so much, and usually whenever I despise someone I would feel guilty for doing so, but for some reason I do not feel an inkling of guilt. So that means I was right for despising him in the first place.

"Let me guess, all of them are sad that they won't get picked as his mate?"

"And you are correct. You know I don't like Kurt, I pray he doesn't get anyone from here. If he does God knows what he would do to them."

"The Moon goddess isn't that much of a heartless person to even do something as mean as that in the first place," I pointed out.

Dennis nodded his head, agreeing to what I was saying. "Yeah you are right with that one. But what if you end up with someone of the same status as yourself."

"Better than ending up with someone that wouldn't care about me cause I am considered a weakling."

"So you wouldn't mind if I end up with you?" He asked with a glimmer of hope in his eyes, he was probably praying for me to say yes.

"You are a great person and you have been nothing but a good friend to me, so of course I wouldn't mind if we end up as mates for life," and I actually mean it. Of everyone in this place he was the only that I could trust, we have been friends since I got to this place when I was eight and he has always had my back since then.

"Awwwn, I am touched." He said, his hand touching where his heart was which made me roll my eyes at him.

Suddenly there was a loud noise outside, which made us startle a little. We looked at each other, then we both stood and went outside, only to see that a fight has broken out.
