Chapter 5 Bring Them Here, I Want to Meet Them
'Explosives?'
Frederick put down the file, his expression darkening.
'How could a kid get their hands on explosives?'
Even someone as experienced as Frederick found it hard to believe.
'Even if the kid somehow managed to get the explosives, being able to control the amount precisely enough to destroy the car without harming the people inside required a high level of skill.'
'A kid couldn't possibly pull that off.'
'Unless someone else was controlling him.'
Thinking of this, Frederick's voice turned cold. "Have you found the kid's parents?"
Elliot nodded. "We found the mother at the train station."
Frederick didn't even look up. "Bring her here. I want to see her."
Meanwhile, Justin was running breathlessly towards the station, grateful for his speed.
'If I got caught, that bad woman would find his mom and cause more trouble.'
Inside the station, Hugo had already calmed Paul down.
Hugo patted Paul's head. "Paul, be good. When Mom comes out, don't tell her you got hurt."
"Otherwise, she'll worry."
Paul's big round eyes blinked seriously as he nodded.
"Paul doesn't hurt anymore. Paul doesn't want Mom to worry."
Isabella came out of the restroom, only seeing Hugo and Paul.
She asked Hugo, "Where's Justin?"
Hugo thought, 'If Mom found that Justin chasing the bad woman, she'd be mad.'
So he covered for Justin. "Justin probably saw something interesting and went to play."
Just as he finished speaking, Justin came running over.
"Mommy!"
He threw himself into Isabella's arms, his voice soft and sweet.
Isabella scolded, "Where did you go? Why didn't you tell me?"
Justin glanced at Hugo, who gave him a knowing look.
The two brothers were in sync.
Justin said, "It was so busy here, I just went out to play for a bit."
"Mommy, I know I was wrong. Next time I'll tell you before I go."
Isabella ruffled Justin's hair. "Alright, but don't run off again. There are a lot of people here, it's dangerous."
Justin, still acting cute, took the suitcase from Isabella's hand.
"Got it, Mommy."
By the time they left the station, it was already dark.
Justin rubbed his growling stomach and looked up at Isabella. "Mommy, when are we eating? I'm so hungry."
Paul chimed in, "Eat, eat."
Isabella laughed. "Okay, Mommy will take you to eat first, then we'll find a place to stay."
The four of them found a restaurant and ordered a few dishes.
Isabella put the meat from the dishes into her three sons' bowls.
"You guys are still growing, you need to eat more."
Paul stood on his tiptoes and gave Isabella a gentle kiss on the cheek, his voice soft and sweet.
"Thank you, Mommy."
Hugo and Justin exchanged a look, then took the meat from their bowls and put it into Isabella's.
Hugo said, "Mommy, we need a balanced diet too. We can't just eat meat."
Isabella looked at her three sons, feeling warm inside.
These kids were always more mature than their peers.
After dinner, Isabella rented a room at a motel.
The motel was quite basic.
"Mommy, are we staying here tonight?"
Hugo looked at Isabella, puzzled.
Hugo had a serious cleanliness issue, but cheaper motels usually weren't very clean.
Isabella sighed softly but reassured him. "Mommy didn't bring enough money, so we'll have to make do here for these days."
She took out some alcohol wipes from her bag and started cleaning meticulously.
"But we..."
Hugo tugged at Isabella's clothes, but she cut him off.
"Hugo, be good. Mommy will clean the room. You take your brothers to shower. I'll change the sheets and covers to our own."
Hugo was conflicted.
How could he tell Mommy?
They didn't need to stay in a cheap motel because he had billions of dollars in his account.
But Hugo knew that even if he told her, she wouldn't believe him.
She'd just worry.
Two years ago, he showed her the $200,000 he earned. For days, she worried that bad people were after him, and she couldn't eat or sleep well, looking very worn out.
After that, he earned another $2 million, but he didn't dare tell her.
He didn't want her to worry. He wanted her to be happy.
Since then, Hugo's earnings kept growing, but he just kept it in the bank, not spending a cent.
The money just sat there, growing and growing...
"Okay, Mommy, I'll take my brothers to shower."
Hugo nodded obediently, keeping his thoughts to himself.
While Hugo took his brothers to shower, Isabella changed the sheets outside.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.
She didn't think much of it, assuming it was the motel staff.
But when she opened the door, a man in black clothes and a mask stood before her.
