Chapter 6 Want to Give it a Try?

Everyone present looked at Noah in shock.

They thought, 'He really bought the jewelry from Tiffany & Co.?'

"No way!" Evelyn shook her head, unable to believe that a poor loser like Noah could afford it.

However, Amelia had confirmed it already. It was indeed Noah.

"Noah..."

Lisa widened her eyes, slack-jawed.

"Am I dreaming? Did he win the lottery?"

"Maybe. Or how come he had that kind of money?"

Those in the office were whispering to each other.

Noah didn't bother to waste his time on them. He handed the jewelry box to Lisa, saying with a smile.

"Lisa, we've been married for almost a year, and I haven't given you a gift. It's my first gift to you."

He thought, 'And of course, there's gonna be a second, a third, and plenty more.'

"Thank you, Noah!" Lisa was so excited that tears were welling up in her eyes.

She spread her arms and hugged Noah.

"How sweet!"

"She receives such a valuable gift in front of all of us!"

"I envy Lisa so much. I want a boyfriend like hers, too!"

Some of her female colleagues looked at her enviously.

"It's still business time!"

Evelyn frowned, sweeping a stern look at everyone present.

She was not at all pleased, as the way things developed was like a slap in her face.

Furious and unconvinced, she thought, 'Surprisingly, Noah indeed bought the jewelry. Where the hell did he get so much money?'

Sensing Evelyn's fury, her employees looked away and went back to work, a bit terrified.

"Noah, I'm going back to work." Lisa let go of her arms.

"I'll stay with you," Noah smiled.

Lisa was always busy at work and often worked overtime. Noah stayed with her until 9 p.m., and only then did they return home from Pinnacle Wealth Management.

With a click, the door was opened.

"Working overtime every day exhausts me."

Lisa massaged her shoulders, looking a bit weary.

She leaned against the wall with one hand and began to change her shoes, allowing Noah to see her perfect figure.

Lisa was very tall, with a height of 5 feet 7 inches. With her perfect body, pretty round face, and gentle temperament, any man would be attracted to her.

Looking at her, Noah felt his mouth dry.

But in the next second, he regained self-control.

He sighed silently, thinking, 'Still...'

"Noah?"

Lisa had finished changing shoes. When she looked back at Noah's expression, she seemed to have thought of something.

She blinked and asked softly, "Wanna give it another go?"

Meanwhile, she looked at him charmingly.

He nodded, holding her in his arms and smelling her sweet fragrance.

Soon enough, he was turned on again.

Lisa blushed, seemingly noticed.

Unfortunately, the feeling only lasted for a few seconds, and then it vanished completely.

Noah shook his head helplessly, sighing, "Why is this happening to me? I'm a young man. How come I suffer from this?"

Ever since he was a teenager, he was impotent.

For men, especially those who had wives, it was devastating and a great threat to couples' relationships.

He married Lisa a year ago. One night, she had too much to drink and fell into the river accidentally. He jumped into the river and rescued her.

The kind Lisa married him to repay him.

"Noah, the medical technology nowadays is very advanced and improving rapidly. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before you're cured," Lisa comforted.

"Besides, I'm not that into sex anyway. Now all we've gotta do is working hard to make money. We'll save lots and lots of money."

She looked serious. "It's the only way to cure you."

Noah nodded but disagreed inwardly.

He thought, 'I'm no longer restricted. I don't think it's gonna be a problem asking my family to come up with solutions for my condition. Yeah, I'll talk to Xavier about this tomorrow. Given my family's strength, developing my cure will be easy peasy.'

"By the way, Noah, how come you had all that money for the jewelry?" Lisa kept wondering about it.

"I passed by a lottery shop today and happened to win 80 thousand dollars," Noah smiled. Worried that things might get complicated, he decided not to tell Lisa the truth.

"80 thousand dollars?"

Lisa widened her eyes. "And you used the money to buy me the jewelry?"

"Yeah. What's wrong?"

"Noah, you..." Frowning, Lisa gritted her teeth. At last, she sighed.

"Forget it. What's done is done. Noah, it's just... It's a bit of a waste of money, don't you think? 80 thousand dollars! I'll have to work for years for that kind of money!"

She looked sad.

Then she pleaded, "Noah, why don't we return the jewelry? Perhaps we can get most of the money back. You know how we're doing. If we return the jewelry, we can use the money to find more doctors for you."

Touched, Noah thought, 'Lisa is such a great wife. I'm lucky to have her.'

He stroked her hair tenderly and said gently, "Lisa, I didn't get you a ring when we got married. Consider the jewelry my apologies. It means a lot, and of course, we ought not to return it. We can always earn money. But we can never return jewelry that means something to us, right?"

Seeing how firm he was, Lisa nodded after a moment of hesitation. "OK then. But promise me that we'll save every penny from now on. After all, we're under so much pressure, and everything costs."

"Sure. You have my word," Noah smiled.

The next morning, after Lisa left for work, Noah dialed a number. The last time he called it was ages ago.

The call was connected.

"Hello, Xavier," Noah said calmly.

"Mr. Anderson? Is it really you?" An elderly voice came through the phone, filled with excitement and disbelief.
