Hidden Revelations

POV

Dimitri

Twilight cast a soft light over the forest as I found myself in my study, lost in somber thoughts. Shadows danced on the walls, a reflection of the turmoil consuming me.

It was then that Marcus, my beta, entered the room. His steps were silent, but his gaze carried a seriousness I knew well.

"Alpha Dimitri, I have news that needs to be shared," Marcus said, his voice laden with thinly veiled urgency.

"What is it?" I asked, my own voice heavy with anticipation.

"It's about Angel, Alpha. She's back," Marcus began, his eyes meeting mine as he spoke.

A wave of conflicting emotions swept over me. I remained still, my gaze fixed on the window as I saw my current wife, Luna Haizel, and my daughter, Antonia, approaching through the garden.

"I see," I murmured, my voice tinged with forced serenity. "Thank you for informing me, Marcus."

He nodded, but there was a hesitation in his gaze, as if there was more he wanted to say.

"Is there anything else?" I asked, sensing his hesitation.

"Yes, Alpha. There's a ceremony tonight. The Moore Pack is about to announce their new leader, and we've been invited."

Marcus's words brought a new wave of concern. The prospect of facing Angel amidst so many unresolved emotions was disconcerting, but I knew I couldn't refuse the invitation.

"Understood. We'll be there," I said, determination ringing in my voice.

I watched as my wife, Luna Heizel, and my daughter, Antonia, entered the room, their presence bringing a sense of comfort amidst the uncertainties lingering in the air. We had been married for four years, and we had a monotonous and peaceful life. She had posture and knew how to run the household with excellence.

"Luna, Antonia," I greeted with a nod.

"Daddy!" exclaimed Antonia, running into my arms. I enveloped her in a tight hug. With her golden hair and bright eyes, her laughter was contagious.

"How was your day, sweetheart?" I asked, brushing a loose strand of hair from her face.

"It was good, Daddy," Antonia replied, her voice brimming with excitement. "We learned about wolves at school today!"

"That sounds fascinating," I said, genuinely intrigued by her enthusiasm. "Did you enjoy it?"

Antonia nodded enthusiastically, launching into a detailed account of her day. Luna watched us with an affectionate smile. She, with her elegant posture and serene presence, always knew how to balance the authority of a Luna with the tenderness of a mother.

"I drew a picture of a wolf family, Daddy," Antonia continued, pulling a sheet of paper from her backpack and proudly showing me her work. "Mommy is the big she-wolf, and you are the strong wolf next to her, and I'm the little wolf cub!"

I smiled, seeing the simplicity and beauty in Antonia's perspective. "It's wonderful, sweetheart. I'll hang it up in my office." She went upstairs with her things, leaving us alone in the room.

"We both have the Alpha ceremony to attend tonight. Luke Moore will be announced as Alpha, and as his allies, we'll have to go," I said, watching Luna Heizel tense up upon hearing the surname she both feared and respected. I knew the reason why she was afraid of it. It was the memory of my previous marriage, which she knew she couldn't match. "Angel will be there, Heizel," I said, interrupting, wanting her to realize what that meant. Her eyes widened, and she nodded as if trying to process what I was telling her.

"Dimitri..."

"I don't expect any trouble," I said, looking her in the eyes. I had more important things to take care of, and none of them included her now. "Don't wait for me for dinner. I'll be leaving shortly. I have things to take care of..."

I watched in silence as Haizel struggled to maintain focus on appearing happy as we arrived at the dinner.

"Dimitri, everything alright?" Alpha Luke said, smiling at me. I smiled back and reached out to shake his hand. We didn't have much intimacy, but our reality required us to be polite.

"I'm fine, Luke, how are you?"

"I'm doing well, thank you," he said, and I nodded. He glanced at Haizel, looking her up and down for a moment before nodding. He didn't speak to her, not once, and it was for well-known reasons. She avoided his gaze for a moment, but it was only when a hand gently squeezed her shoulder, her scent filling my nostrils, that both Katherine and I tensed.

Her eyes met mine, and it felt like it was yesterday since we had divorced. Her eyes were sharper, and her smile wider, but it was her extending her hand to Haizel that caught us both off guard.

"Alpha Dimitri, Luna Haizel, thank you for honoring us with your presence at my brother's ceremony," she said, watching Haizel hesitate before extending her own hand, shaking Angel's.

Angel took a step back, but it was only when I heard a small voice speaking behind her, asking a question, that everything around me seemed to stop. And it was only when my eyes met his that I looked at the woman, shaking my head in question as she kept her eyes on the boy, placing her hand on the back of his head, bringing him forward to greet my wife and me.

He stood timidly by her side, and she ran her finger through his hair gently, locking eyes with me as she did. My wolf stirred as she spoke the next words that made everything around me stop.

"I would like to introduce you to my son," she said, her voice trembling. "Lowrence..."
