Chapter 6
“Let's have some fun, my Luna.”
He tried to kiss me. I pulled my hand out of my grip and pushed him. I slapped him hard on the face, and it made his face turn to the side because of the force. His jaw clenched in anger. I lifted my hand once again to slap him when he grabbed my hand. I winced in pain when he did that.
“What is happening here?” Nera came from behind us. My heart was still beating fast in fear, and Nera's presence gave me some kind of relief. I don't know what this man is capable of doing to me. I would lie if I said I was not scared.
"Baby, she tried to seduce me. She threw herself on me, asking me to break up with you and be with her. When I refused, she tried to slap me,” he said, like an innocent man. It made me gasp in disbelief. He changed his colour so fast. He was now acting like a victim in front of my best friend. He is such an evil man. Nera was shocked when she heard that. She looked at me with wide eyes. I could see a look of disbelief in her eyes. I pulled my hand out of his hold.
“If I'm lying, then listen to this,” I said, and I played the recording. Everything he said and talked about was recorded. His face lost its colour when it was played.
"Baby, she is lying,” he tried to say, but Nera slapped him hard on the face. She broke up with him.
“Don't ever show me your face again,” Nera said despite his face, asking him to get out. His jaw clenched, and he looked at me with resentment. I glared back at him. He walked out of there in anger. Nera burst out crying. I took her back to our table and comforted her. She was so in love with him.
“Thanks to mood goddess Nera, you are out of that cheater's claws. You deserve a good man,” I said while moving my hand on her back to comfort her. She kept sobbing.
“I loved him, Rosyln. I thought he was the one,” she cried out. She has been searching for her mate, but he has still not shown up. Some wolves don't have mates, and I don't want Mera to be one of them.
“You will find your mate soon, Nera. I know,” I said while blinking away my tears. I would never let her go through the things I was going through. I hope her mate is not like mine. I kept calling her down.
“How are things going on between you and Mason?” she asked, and my hands stopped moving on her back. My body went stiff.
“I heard Lilian is back in town,” Nera asked with a worried look in her eyes.
"Yes, she is, and Mason has been by her side since the day she came back,” I said in a sad tone. I blinked my tears away.
"What, but he is your mate?” she said in disbelief, sounding even more worried now. It seems like she forgot her sorrow. I told her everything. All the emotional trauma I was going through. I couldn't control my tears when I told her how he left me last night to see Lilian while I was burning with fever. She was so disappointed in him.
“I'm going to leave him for good and start my life now,” I said with tears running down my eyes. I wiped them immediately with the back of my hands.
“The moon goddess has chosen you for him, but he is so ungrateful. He doesn't deserve you if he can't respect you. You have made the right decision,” she said while taking my hand in hers and squeezing it. Tell me she is with me in my decision.
“Once I leave the pack, I will do freelance design. If they love each other, I won't come between them. I will build my own life and be far away from them,” I said while sniffing. It pained me to say it, but it was true. I have to start my life far away with my child. I will never come back to Mason's life, nor will I let him know about my child's existence.
“You deserve the best, and I know you have a very bright future. You can build so much on your own. You don't need Mason to do that. I'm with you,” she said while side-hugging me. Her words and warm embrace warm my heart. It gave me hope to live my life again.
“I know,” I whispered with a small smile on my face.
“Now that you are going to leave Mason, why don't you think about Hudson? He was always a good match for you,” Nera suggested with a smile on her face. I smiled and moved my head back.
“Hudson has always been nice to me. He is kind, but I don't have such feelings for him. He is a good friend of mine and Mason's younger brother.” I discarded that idea. Not wanting to talk about it more.
“Look who we have here. Losers” Talia appeared while we were talking. She smirked, looking down at us. A smile vanished from my face. I know how much she hates me.
“What are you doing sitting here in such an expensive restaurant? Of course, stripping Mason of all his money,” she mocked, and I saw people looking our way because of her loud voice. Nera tried to fight back when I stopped her by grabbing her hand. I don't want to make a scene knowing how Talia is.
“Low Omega, like you don't deserve to be our Luna. Lilian is my Luna, you bitch,” she said, then grabbed the glass to throw water on me. I closed my eyes when someone caught her hand.
“Talia, please don't do this. It's not her fault if she is Mason's mate,” Lilian said, stopping her. She was dressed so well and was graceful, even with her illness. Her complexion was so white, and she had a beautiful face. I was nowhere near her. I know why Mason loves her.
“Mason has assured me that he is not in love with her, so please don't do this to her. They both are in a relationship by force of law,” she said softly, keeping her poise even when she was in a wheelchair. She was humiliating me with her grace.
"See, this is how Luna should be. Always think about her people, even though they are low; life's like you,” Talia taunted. She looked disgusted. All eyes were on me, and I felt so humiliated.
“Accept it. You don't deserve to be Luan of our Moon Pack.”
