Chapter 7 Alex's Background
Silas's Perspective:
I always thought of myself as the most disciplined and powerful Alpha of the werewolf pack. Over the years, countless female werewolves had thrown themselves at me, but I never felt any interest. But when I pinned her down, her alluring figure, slender waist, and soft skin captivated me.
I never expected that just a couple of her struggles and slight friction would provoke a reaction in me.
The last time I lost control like this was four years ago.
Her shocked face turned bright red, like a ripe, juicy peach. Her watery eyes burned with anger, almost destroying my sanity, making me want to possess her at all costs.
I was startled by my thoughts, and in my moment of distraction, she broke free and ran away.
"Mr. Everhart," Harris suddenly said, holding his phone, "Alex has returned."
Returned? As I watched her vanish, my anger and impatience instantly dissipated.
Lucas's Perspective:
A group of werewolf bodyguards escorted me to a luxurious mountaintop villa. The grand and opulent architecture left me in awe.
I was taken back to Alex's room, which was filled with all sorts of fun toys.
"Such a big airplane model," I exclaimed, running to the display case. The model was over three feet tall, and I couldn't help but marvel at it.
With so many toys and such a grand house, why would Alex sneak out? It was really strange.
As I pondered, I heard a man and a woman talking at the door.
Silas's Perspective:
I returned to the house, ignoring Cecilia waiting at the door, and headed straight to Alex's room on the second floor.
"Silas," Cecilia urgently grabbed me and said, "It was my oversight that Alex ran away this time, but I didn't expect him to be able to leave in his condition."
"What condition?" I looked at her angrily.
I knew she was referring to Alex's autism. While other werewolves found Alex strange, to me, Alex was as normal as any other child.
Cecilia was frightened by my expression and lowered her head timidly.
Her timidity irritated me even more. The smart and bold woman from four years ago seemed like an illusion. I had been drawn to her bold, clever nature four years ago, but her increasing timidity had quelled my interest. For some reason, I thought of the woman at the fast-food restaurant.
"Anyway, as long as Alex is safe," Cecilia said with a smile, "I was so worried when he ran away, afraid something might happen to him. Luckily, he's fine, so I can relax."
I already had a feeling about what she was going to say next.
"Silas," sure enough, Cecilia affectionately wrapped her arms around mine, deliberately pressing her chest against my arm. "Alex has run away several times now, and after all these incidents, I think he feels lonely as an only child. Maybe having another child would give him company."
Cecilia's red-painted nails slowly traced down my chest.
I grabbed her hand before it could reach into my pants, squeezing hard enough to make her cringe in pain.
I felt no pity, forcefully pushing her hand away and coldly looking at her hurt and embarrassed face.
"Alex is still young. I need to focus all my attention and love on him. I'm not considering having another child. Besides," I said, glancing at her with disdain, "Alex has just been found after going missing, and your first thought isn't about his well-being but about initiating sexual relations with me. Is this appropriate behavior for a mother?"
Indeed, she seemed indifferent to her non-biological son's plight. No true mother would entertain thoughts of intimacy when her child faced trouble. It was utterly preposterous!
"No, it's not like that!" Cecilia protested, her normally impeccable makeup unable to hide the panic, twisting her features into a comical expression. "I'm just worried about Alex. If he continues down his current path, he could end up in serious trouble. I'm only trying to look out for him."
"Even though Alex isn't my biological son, I've always loved him as if he were my own. I don't think I've been any less of a mother to him than his birth mother, who abandoned him to thugs right after he was born," Cecilia argued, her voice laced with sorrow. She clutched her collar, tears welling up in her eyes as she continued, "I just don't want Alex to be alone. He should have a companion."
"Alex is never alone. He has me!" I said, seeing that she still wouldn't give up on the idea of having a child. My already irritable mood worsened.
I didn't want to hear her talk anymore, so I knocked on the door twice.
Lucas's Perspective:
Standing in the room, I overheard the conversation outside, which left me deeply perplexed.
So, Alex doesn't have a mother, and the woman outside isn't his biological mother either. Where did his real mother go? Did she really abandon him to thugs?
Just as I was lost in thought, there were two knocks on the door, and then Silas walked in.
