Chapter 6: Subconscious Archery Fusion

Lori glanced at Elbert, competing in archery with kids?

Childish!  She followed her elder sister back to the main building and didn't come along.  At the back of the estate.  A racetrack, a small golf course, a huge swimming pool...  Elbert was amazed!  There was actually an independent archery range.  It was a delicate little wooden house and a double archery field covering at least 3 acres.  Various photos hung on the walls of the wooden house.  They were all of Rex standing on the podium with his archery trophies.  Elbert counted, there were 6 championships and 4 runner-ups!  Rex adjusted his glasses, still elegant in style but unable to hide his pride, "These are all in the past, don't laugh at me!"  So hypocritical.  Elbert curled his lips.  "By the way, Elbert, do you know how to shoot arrows?" Rex squinted his eyes, touching his chin as he asked.  "Subconscious archery fusion complete!"  Just as Elbert hesitated, Robert's prompt came through.  "I just scanned the competition footage of all the Olympic archery champions and summarized all their archery techniques!"  "It has been compiled into subconscious neuron information and mapped onto your cerebral cortex!"  Elbert was a bit puzzled, "Subconscious?"  "Science fact: 70% of human consciousness is subconscious!"  "It can also be called the unconscious!"  "It's an action that can be performed 'without thinking'!"  "For example, when you were looking at the photos just now, you didn't even realize you blinked 6 times!"  "Now your subconscious has increased archery skills, and you can use them at will!"  "So, you're saying I can shoot arrows now?"  "Yes! In human terms, god-level archery skills! Crushing Rex is more than enough!"  Alright then.  Elbert inexplicably smiled, nodded, and said, "I know a little."  Then, Elbert shrugged and looked at Rex, "How about we have a match?"  "Elbert, you must be joking, didn't you see my brother-in-law's photos?"  "He's an archery champion, has won many gold medals!"  "You've just learned a little and want to compete with him, it would be embarrassing!"  The two twin beauties heard this and laughed heartily.  In their eyes, Elbert was boasting too much!  He didn't know how to respect his seniors.  "Being a champion isn't that hard."  Elbert crossed his arms and observed the bows and arrows displayed in the showcase one by one.  "You two, stop laughing!"  Rex's face was serious, but the corners of his mouth were twitching slightly, as if he was trying hard not to laugh, "Maybe Elbert is a master!"  "Since Elbert is interested, as hosts, we must oblige."  Rex said seriously, "We can compete, but since I'm a professional, I must give Elbert a handicap. How about this, I'll shoot blindfolded at a 25-meter target, that shouldn't be considered bullying."  Shooting blindfolded was basically ignoring Elbert.  The two young beauties' eyes lit up when they heard this and clapped their hands in approval. They knew Rex's skills well, and shooting blindfolded at a 25-meter target was no big deal!  "But...""Since it's a competition, there should be some stakes."  Rex squinted his eyes like a fox, "Susan, don't you have a lot of punishment measures for losing in your livestream PKs?"  Rex said, giving the two young girls a knowing look.  "Yes!"  Susan looked at Elbert, covering her mouth and giggling, "There are many, like doing squats, eating wasabi, drinking Coke while doing a handstand, and so on!"  "Drinking Coke while doing a handstand, that sounds interesting. How about the loser eats lunch while doing a handstand?"  Rex, suppressing his eagerness, smiled and said, "What do you think, Elbert, do you dare to bet?"  "Sure."  Elbert shrugged lightly, a slight curve appearing at the corner of his mouth.  The twin beauties couldn't hold back and burst into laughter.  Brother-in-law is indeed impressive!  Without a word, he set a trap for Elbert!  Just thinking about Elbert having to eat lunch upside down in front of everyone made their stomachs hurt from laughing!  Let's see how he handles it then!  "Then I'll go first."  Rex picked up a black professional bow, his expression instantly becoming serious.  He truly lived up to his professional background, first judging the wind direction, then focusing intently on the target's position.  Mary took out a scarf and gently tied it over her brother-in-law's eyes.  Rex let out a clear shout, his arm exerting force, pulling the bowstring to its full draw.  A series of actions left the two young girls full of admiration!  Rex took two deep breaths and calmly said, "Archery requires a steady hand and a calm heart. I've practiced diligently for 10 years and have almost reached a state of unity between mind and body. Although my eyes are covered, that red bullseye is firmly imprinted in my mind!"  "Elbert, watch closely. Today, I'll show you what champion skills look like!"  The cheers of the two young girls rang out directly!  Rex smiled slightly and slowly removed the scarf.  The arrow was embedded straight in the center of the 25-meter target, a perfect bullseye!  "No wonder you're the best brother-in-law! Your archery skills are unmatched! Haha!"  The two young girls laughed even more joyfully. With this shot, their prank on Elbert was complete!  "So, I have to hit a farther target to win, right?" Elbert's lazy voice came from the side.  Rex heard this and showed a speechless, exasperated expression, "Elbert, this is a 25-meter target. Any farther would be 30 meters, which is the distance for professional competitions!"  At this point, Rex turned to look at Elbert and was suddenly stunned!  Rex could no longer maintain his elegant demeanor and burst into laughter!  "Elbert, what are you holding?"  Elbert was holding a massive horn bow, with a rustic design and rough craftsmanship, even the bowstring was made of thick hemp rope!  Rex had found this bow with its ancient design and unique appearance, so he brought it back as a collectible.  This bow was made using traditional methods, with no precision to speak of.  Most importantly, it was used by local hunters in the mountains to hunt wild boars, usually requiring two people to draw the bowstring!  In terms of data, this bow had a draw weight of at least 180 pounds!  In other words, it required an arm strength of 80 kilograms to draw!  Even Rex, a former archery champion, could only admire it but couldn't easily handle it!
