Chapter 2. She was a virgin
Adeline tried to wash off the icky feelings from the previous day under the running hot water. It was only the first week of school, and she already had to deal with dumbasses like that watered-down version of Damien. What was his name again...Nik? And now it was a new day, and she hoped not to run into those guys or Damien again.
She heard the bathroom door open suddenly, and there came Jimmy, casually walking in. She stood there horrified as she heard him peeing. What the fuck?
She opened the curtain, covering her naked body with it. "What the hell, Jimmy! I'm in here!" she screamed.
Jimmy's lips curled into a smile. He looked at her face and trailed his eyes down as if to try and see her naked body through the curtain. Adeline held the curtain tightly against the body, feeling uncomfortable. "GET OUT!" she cried again.
"Jeez, Addie, keep your panties on. It's not like you have anything I've never seen before," he shrugged. "Well...not that you're wearing a panty in there," he cackled.
"What the fuck is wrong with you!" Adeline looked at him wide-eyed, almost tearing up.
"Alright, I'm leaving. I just had to take a whizz. No need to be a bitch," Jimmy laughed out loud then left.
Adeline held back her angry tears, finished her shower as fast as possible, and then strode toward her mother's room.
Her mother was propped up on her bed, looking worse than the day before. She raised her heavy eyelids halfway to acknowledge Adeline but closed them back up.
"Mom!" Adeline cried.
Her mom opened her eyes again then looked at Adeline. A scowl formed on her face. "What are you screeching about so early in the morning? I have a terrible headache so make it quick," she said.
"It's Jimmy. He is a goddamn pervert!" Adeline complained.
"Don't swear at me. What are you talking about?" her mother looked at her with contempt.
"I was taking a shower, and he...he walked right in. And then he made nasty remarks instead of apologizing to me. You have to do something," Adeline pleaded. Nothing good ever came out of complaining to her mother, but she had to try at least.
"Addie, for fuck's sake, Jimmy didn't mean any harm. He was just joking around. Stop being an overdramatic stuck-up bitch. Now leave before you miss the bus because I'm not driving you anywhere," her mother frowned again and lay back down.
"Jimmy is not my brother. I have no brother!" Adeline screamed and stormed out of the house. She ran towards the bus stop. Her mom meant what she said about not driving her to school.
"No," Adeline whispered under her breath as she saw the bus leaving. She ran faster, hoping to get the bus driver's attention. "STOP!" she screamed, but the bus drove off without mercy.
She stopped running and panted heavily, trying to catch her breath. This is already beginning to be a terrible day. She heard a car near her, so she looked up. A poison green Corvette convertible pulled up next to her, and she found herself staring into the smirking face of Damien. Next to him was Robbie, who gave her a welcoming smile.
Of course, he drives a corvette, Adeline thought irritably. She remembered Robbie only lived two houses away, and he was friends with Damien. This meant Damien now knows where she lived. As if it wasn't bad enough that she had to see him at school almost every day. Well, that's just fucking great.
"Need a ride?" Damien grinned mischievously. His blue eyes twinkled under the sunlight. He probably enjoyed himself watching her struggle.
"I'd rather walk than get in a car with a rapist," she barked.
Damien laughed. "A rapist, huh? I see. Well, have fun walking five miles to school. Hope you'll have a good excuse for being late." With that, Damien zoomed away.
Adeline sighed. Maybe she shouldn't have been rash and insulted him. He was her only hope to get to school on time. She walked for another block and a half and stopped. Damien had pulled up next to the curb. He saw her approaching but didn't do anything other than staring at her intently.
"Change of heart?" he flashed her those annoying dimples again.
"Come with us, Addie. You don't want to be late to class," Robbie urged her.
Adeline nodded and proceeded to open the door, but Damien started the car and zoomed away before she could. Again.
"YOU IMMATURE PIECE OF SHIT!"
Damien laughed as he heard her yelling.
"Dude, stop being an asshole and help the poor girl. I think you've punished her enough," Robbie sounded annoyed.
Good ole Robbie with his tender heart, Damien thought to himself and scoffed.
"Well, I'd be nicer if she wasn't a bitch, but since you insist..." he stopped the car and waited for Adeline to catch up again.
Adeline walked over to them and just stood there. Her face was red from heat and anger.
"I'm sorry for Damien's rude behavior Addie. Please get in the car," Robbie said.
"Fine," she said and took a seat behind Robbie. "I'm only listening to Robbie because he protected me from those idiots yesterday." Adeline declared.
"What idiots?" Damien demanded.
"Nik something or the other. He cornered me and harassed me for no reason. But what else would you expect from a guy that looks just like you?" she said bitterly.
Damien didn't say anything else.
"Well, here we are. Now get out of my car," Damien barked. Adeline got out of the car and looked at Robbie.
"Thank you," she said quietly.
"Glad we could help. I swear Damien isn't as bad as he acts," Robbie grinned. Damien looked away and snorted in response.
Adeline walked to her class quickly. The fastest she could get away from Damien was better. She felt eyes staring at her, so she looked and saw a group of girls standing around and whispering. Where they talking about her?
"Hi guys," she tried to sound cheerful as those girls were nice to her the previous day.
The girls didn't respond and looked away.
Slut...she heard one of them say under her breath.
