Chapter 3: Leave

"He's right Thea." One of the girls stood beside the still fuming Thea and whispered, "Even though they managed to snatch almost all our guys in school, can't you see that they're still single? The thought they had high standards but I know that no sane guy would be safe dating either of them."

Thea's eyes lit up and she nodded with a smug smile. "You're right, Joey, why should we even worry that these poor guys are smitten by them, tsk tsk tsk, the guys are just hopeless."

They both walked forward and joined the others on the couches.

Very soon, the atmosphere inside the room once again lit up as everyone started chattering as they mostly talked about the times during their university days.

"I'm still astounded you know." One of the girls suddenly raised her voice and everyone looked at her. "Among all the guys in our class during our school days, didn't you all notice that it's only Jai that hadn't make a hit on the girls?"

"Yeah."

"Sure."

"Now, that's a very good question."

"You're right."

Everyone nodded in agreement and turned to Jai who was drinking without a care.

As also one of the most rich and handsome guys, everyone was surprised that he was the one that hadn't approach the girls throughout their four years at the university. He wasn't the silent type to make them think that he was shy. Could their be any reason behind it, or was he just not interested in the girls? That was impossible.

Even they guys were now eager to know his answer, and Lucy and Gina glanced at each other with frowns.

"I truly have to commend him for that, seems like he's the only sensible guy in this room." Thea clapped her hands and chuckled. "So Jai, tell us... What defect do you see in them, I want all they guys in this room to know that after all, our little Princess are not at all... Whatever they think they are."

"That's it!" Gina sprang up with dark expression. "What's your problem Thea, can't stand being outshine by others? Why don't you cage your stupid boyfriend and tell him to stop gawking at us... Is it our fault that your face has so many creases that even an old person would call you Big sister!?"

"Gina?" Lucy gasped and quickly held her down. "You have to calm down, don't let her get through you... She's just insecure, she'll soon get over it. Am I right Thea?" She glanced at Thea whose face was now red with anger.

Everyone inside the room knew that Thea was not on good terms with the girls, and were used to their squabbles whenever the girls meet.

Thea was practically the most pretty girl in the campus, until the two girls got admitted into the university.

Even after graduating, Thea still held the grudge in her heart, and would jump at any opportunity to get into a fight with the girls.

They were all used to it, and couldn't be bother with the fight that slowly brewing up between the girls.

Turning their attention to the nonchalant guy who was sipping his drink slowly, they all resumed their questioning.

"Jai, we're all hears... Please tell us."

"Yes, Jai, there most be a reason why you didn't make a move on either of them."

"For those for years, no one would believe that you haven't glance at them once. Stop keeping us in suspense and tell us your reason."

Jai raised a hand, causing everyone to halt their questioning. He twirled the glass in his hand with a chuckle, as their expectant gazes were fixed on him.

"Why chase something that already belong to you," he muttered finally and sipped his wine.

"What do you mean by that?" One of the guys asked with a frown and everyone else had on the same expression.

"Do you mean you're dating one of them secretly. or are you speaking about some one else?." Another guy chipped in.

"Enough everyone." Groaned one of the girls. "Are we going to continue partying or what? Now I'm regretting coming here..." She rolled her eyes then glared at the two girls who were acting nonchalant despite being the topic of discussion.

A lot of girls inside the room had the same reaction. Not only had the girls snatched their spot light during university days, but we're also the center of attraction where ever they are. It was as if their were magnets, and every guy in the city was made of a metal. Even the young professors at school were not spared.

Lucy turned to Gina who was enjoying the looks of envy on the other girls face. She pouted and said,"It's obvious that we're not really needed. I think we should leave."

"Nah." Gina waved her hand with a chuckle. "We aren't going anywhere, Lucy... The party had just begun, don't let them dampen your mood. Besides, aren't we here to have fun in the first place?... Hehe, now this is way too much fun."

"Yes, Princess." One of the guys chipped in. "You know what, I actually came here hoping I would get a glimpse of you, how could you think of leaving just now? Please don't do this to me."

He held his chest while extending one hand toward her in a dramatic gesture, and laughter could be hear inside the room.

He took out a huge lollipop from his pocket and Lucy's eyes lit up.

"I searched far and wide, crossed many desserts, endured blistering cold in icy mountains, before finding it... Please accept my heartfelt profession of love," he muttered with a wink while taking his time to peel off the wrap.
