Chapter 2 The Parachuted Big Boss

Matthew's hand, which had been playing with her hair, paused, and a hint of fierceness appeared in his eyes.

His big hand gripped her sharp chin, adding a bit more pressure.

This year of boring routines had left a thin layer of calluses on her fingertips.

Mary's face stung painfully, and her clear eyes got a bit misty.

Matthew's fingertips brushed her blood-streaked lips, his voice cold, "Mary, I'm not negotiating. This marriage is over, whether you like it or not."

Mary turned her head, shaking off his hand, and then stomped on his foot.

His pricey handmade crocodile leather shoes were instantly smeared with mud.

"Shameless!" Mary pressed down harder with her foot.

He had enjoyed the sincere love of an ordinary girl, yet now planned to toss it aside and marry a wealthy heiress without any burden.

Mary might be poor, but she wasn't some toy to be discarded by the rich.

Matthew's eyes darkened as he glanced at his hand.

It still seemed to hold the warmth of her cheek.

His tone grew colder, "From the moment you knew who I was, you should've known that whether we divorce or not is up to me."

With that, Matthew tapped a few times on his phone screen.

A second later, Mary got a message notification.

Matthew pointed at his phone, saying, "The divorce agreement is in your inbox. Sign it if there are no issues. The sooner we divorce, the better. Let's not waste each other's time."

After saying this, he turned and left without a care for Mary's reaction.

Mary gritted her teeth, "Matthew! You jerk!"

Turned out, when she saved him, didn't care about his background and disability, and took care of him wholeheartedly, he saw it all as just a means to an end!

She had done nothing wrong, yet just because she came from an ordinary background, she was being forced to divorce!

It was not fair!

But the only response she got was Matthew's quickly retreating figure.

Anger flared up in her chest.

With tear-filled eyes, Mary looked at the divorce papers Matthew had sent her and let out a bitter laugh.

It seemed he had indeed been prepared for this. But what did it matter? Their marriage was protected by law.

As long as she didn't sign the divorce agreement, this marriage couldn't end! The love and sincerity she had given shouldn't be trampled on like this!

The next day.

Mary showed up at the office looking exhausted.

As soon as she sat down, her closest colleague excitedly nudged her, "Mary! I've got some great news! Our company's big boss is visiting today! You're so pretty, why don't you go greet him?"

However, when Mary turned to look at her with a dazed expression, the colleague screamed in fright. "Oh my God!"

Mary just yawned slowly.

The colleague leaned in, curious, "Mary, did you pull an all-nighter? Your dark circles are so serious."

Recalling everything that happened last night, Mary bitterly shook her head.

Matthew had left gracefully, but she hadn't gotten a wink of sleep after returning home.

"Look at me, I might affect the company's image. Better let someone else go."

The colleague sighed regretfully, then had a dreamy, almost girlish look in her eyes.

"I heard the big boss is the third child the Montagu family just found. He's handsome and wealthy, and was directly placed into the CEO position. I wonder if I can catch his eye..."

Before she finished speaking, Mary's face suddenly changed.

She grabbed the colleague's sleeve, "Who did you say the CEO coming today is?"

The colleague blinked in confusion, "Mr. Montagu."

At that moment, the office suddenly became agitated.

The next second, a tall figure appeared at the entrance of the DK Group.

Matthew, with broad shoulders and a narrow waist, made the expensive dark gray custom-made suit look even more distinguished.

His brows were sharp, and his handsome face exuded the authority and ruthlessness of a true leader.

He walked in leisurely amidst the colleagues' exclamations of amazement.

Mary looked at the familiar figure and slowly stood up from her seat.
