Sylvina wields a rare but illegal form of magic that, if discovered by the infamous Alcove Academy, would lead to her being stripped of her power. But a mysterious blight that only affects the supernatural forces her out of hiding and into crossing paths with Kazimir Devorak, the very man tasked with persecuting Magians like her. 

To save her best friend from the blight, Syl must hide who she is and seek out Kaz’s help. And the only way of doing so, is to enrol into Alcove Academy where Kaz works, and where she will have the resources to search for a cure. 

But between having Kaz as her professor and working closely with him to research the blight, the lines between right and wrong are bound to blur, and Syl finds herself falling for the last man on earth she’s allowed to pursue. 

Because aside from being her professor, he is also the man who will bring her to justice when he learns about her magic.
