Chapter 1

Elizabeth Clark opened her eyes and took in the familiar room from her past.

She was utterly astonished. She had clearly died, and yet here she was, alive once more!

She had been reborn!

Checking the date, a sly smile crept across her face. 'The timing of her rebirth was absolutely perfect,' she thought.

At that moment, a knock on the door interrupted her thoughts.

Elizabeth got up and opened it to find a handsome man standing there.

"Why didn't you answer my call earlier?" he demanded.

"I didn't feel like it," Elizabeth replied coolly.

This was Richard Clark, her current agent.

"Can you stop messing around?" Richard said, clearly annoyed.

Elizabeth raised an eyebrow. "Can you come up with something new? I'm tired of hearing that."

Ever since she returned, the Clark family had been telling her to stop messing around.

Richard was at a loss for words.

"Brenda wants to be on that variety show. What harm is there in allowing her to do so? Do you have to make everyone miserable?"

Elizabeth's eyes turned icy. "I fought for that spot. I'm not giving it up. If you're unhappy, that's your problem."

She had not been raised with her family.

When she was four, Kevin Clark took her out to play and lost her.

The family then adopted a girl her age and named her Brenda Clark, which was Elizabeth's original name.

A year ago, the Clarks found their biological daughter and brought her back.

But they still favored Brenda and treated Elizabeth, their real daughter, like an outsider.

Whenever she clashed with Brenda, she was always the one blamed for causing trouble.

Elizabeth had entered the entertainment industry on her own and, through hard work and talent, climbed from obscurity to minor fame.

After being recognized by her family, the Clarks made her terminate her contract with her original company and join the family’s entertainment business, with Richard as her agent.

Brenda, who originally studied music, suddenly developed an interest in the entertainment industry. Both sisters ended up under Richard's management.

Over the past year, Brenda took the resources that should have been Elizabeth's, quickly rising from an unknown artist to a somewhat famous one.

Last month, Elizabeth saved Arthur's wife and secured a spot on a highly anticipated new variety show.

Brenda also wanted to be on this show and subtly hinted her desire to Richard.

However, the show was fully booked, and the Clark family wanted Elizabeth to give her spot to Brenda.

Knowing Brenda was deliberately trying to steal her opportunity, Elizabeth refused and was subsequently condemned by the whole family.

Richard took a deep breath. "I'll find you a better opportunity. Just give this variety show spot to Brenda."

Elizabeth sneered, "I don't want your so-called better opportunity. Give it to your Brenda."

Not wanting to waste more words with Richard, she shut the door in his face.

Richard stood there, stunned.

This was the first time Elizabeth had shown him such disrespect since returning home.

With the conversation failed, Richard left with a dark expression.

Elizabeth closed the door, her heart as cold as ice.

In her past life, Elizabeth craved familial affection. After being brought back, she constantly tried to please the Clark family, humbling herself to the extreme.

But she never managed to warm their hearts.

Later, when she and Brenda were kidnapped, everyone except her father, Paul Clark, who wasn't there at the time, chose to save Brenda first.

As a result, she was killed by the kidnappers.

At the moment of her death, she completely lost hope in the Clark family.

She never expected to be bound by a system that offered her a chance at rebirth by completing various tasks.

Elizabeth stretched out her right hand and looked at her palm; her lifeline was very short, indicating she had less than a year left to live, just until the time she was killed in her past life.

To extend her life, she needed to be liked by more people.

The more people liked her, or the more she helped others gain affection, the longer her life would be extended.

It was like exchanging faith for life points.

Now, her priority was to stay alive; she had neither the time nor the energy to continue entangling with the Clark family.

Elizabeth packed up and only took her belongings.

The family members were all sitting in the living room, and when they saw Elizabeth coming down with a suitcase, their faces showed displeasure.

Her mother, Betty Anderson, frowned at Elizabeth. "What are you trying to do now? Ever since you came back to this house, there's always been trouble."

Elizabeth found it amusing. "Was it my idea to come back? I remember it was you who brought me back."

"And what trouble have I caused? Brenda wants my opportunity, and I'm the one causing trouble by not giving it to her?"

"If you look at it that way, it's actually you and Brenda who are being unreasonable."

Betty didn't expect Elizabeth to talk back, and her displeasure deepened. "Brenda just likes that variety show."

"You're now the Clark family's daughter, while Brenda has lost that identity. Isn't it right for you to compensate her?"

Her third brother, Arnold Clark, chimed in, "I think you just can't stand Brenda, so you're deliberately targeting her."

Her fourth brother, Enrique Clark, impatiently said, "Elizabeth, can't you just be a good daughter of the Clark family? Why do you have to cause trouble?"
