Chapter 4 An Encounter at the Restaurant

"Arrest the fugitive?"

Everyone was shocked.

Jessica nodded and explained what had happened at the airport.

"So that's it. Just some low-life. I thought Ms. Gray had arrived and worried all afternoon," Mr. White said, relieved.

Since Ms. Gray wasn't here yet, Mr. White still had time.

Others jumped in to flatter him. "A jerk making Mr. White worry? Unforgivable."

"I'll ask my friends to find out where that fugitive is and get updates!"

"I know people in prison, too. I'll have them teach him a lesson!"

Jessica felt a bit sorry for Fergus, supposing he would have a rough time in prison, but she quickly dismissed it, thinking he deserved it.

Seeing Mr. White smile, she planned to bring up their collaboration again.

Just then, her phone rang.

Jessica got up, took the call, and walked out of the private room. Suddenly, she screamed, her face pale, dropping the phone!

The scream startled everyone.

Several people from the private room came out.

"Ms. Henderson, what's wrong?" they asked, surprised.

Jessica didn't hear them, her eyes wide with terror as she looked at a man in the hall. It was Fergus. How could he be here?

"I just wanted to have a meal!" Fergus muttered, equally frustrated. 'Why did she have to come out now?' he thought.

Though he wasn't full, he put down his utensils and got up to leave, not bothering to talk to her.

"Stop!"

Jessica snapped out of it, furious. She couldn't understand why he was out, but since he was here, she thought Fergus must be following her!

She walked up to him, fuming. "I told you, we're not from the same world. Stop following me. Got it?"

Everyone understood. So, he was a pursuer. Pursuing was understandable, but stalking? No wonder Jessica was furious!

Fergus was speechless, thinking she was flattering herself.

He said with a sullen face, "Which eye of yours saw me following you? Move aside!"

His tone annoyed the surrounding customers. Jessica was a classic beauty, and everyone was ready to play the hero.

Mr. White also came out and asked, "Ms. Henderson, who is this guy?"

Jessica glared at Fergus and instinctively said, "He's the fugitive I mentioned, the one caught at the airport. I don't know why he's out again!"

The entire restaurant's atmosphere froze, making it hard to breathe!

A fugitive? This guy was a fugitive?

The customers who were about to beat up Fergus collectively trembled, and those who had been discussing Fergus in the private room were dumbfounded.

Mr. White also stiffened!

Fighting with a fugitive? Was he out of his mind?

Everyone thought, 'Why didn't you say earlier!'

Everyone regretted it, fearing Fergus would notice them.

Fergus was annoyed by her introduction. However, seeing the customers were too scared to shout, he didn't bother explaining and tried to leave.

"Stop!"

Jessica blocked him again, saying, "Promise never to appear in front of me again, or you won't leave here today!"

Jessica thought, 'If I let him go now, he might follow me again. Better solve this now!'

Fergus's eyes narrowed. He hated being threatened. If she weren't a girl, he would've dealt with her already.

He stared at her and said, "How do you plan to stop me?"

Jessica, not afraid, said, "Mr. Adams, call your cop friends!"

Mr. Adams had just bragged about knowing where Fergus was held. Now, just call the cops!

"I..." Mr. Adams almost fainted from fear and quickly waved his hand. "I don't know any cops, I don't know any!"

If he called, they'd be dead before help arrived. Only a fool would make that call.

"Mr. Adams?" Jessica was stunned and looked at the next person. "Mr. Olson, you know people in prison. Maybe they can help!"

Mr. Olson almost choked. What if he called someone who was Fergus's enemy?

He quickly waved his hand. "No. I don't know anyone either!"

"Mr. Olson?"

Jessica's face burned with embarrassment. She looked around for help.

Everyone avoided eye contact. Only a fool would help her fight a fugitive!

Jessica was still unwilling and looked at Mr. White. He was the strongest here!

Mr. White cursed inwardly but couldn't refuse. He forced a smile. "Buddy, just got out and need a job? I can offer you a job, starting at a thousand dollars a month!"

Mr. White was worried Fergus would lose his temper, so he tried to appease him.

Fergus sneered. A thousand dollars? In prison, people would pay at least ten thousand to avoid a punch!

He coldly said, "Get lost!"

Mr. White and the others turned red with anger but didn't dare speak out.

"Fergus!"

Jessica was furious. Mr. White was a potential partner, and Fergus insulting him was worse than insulting her.

She exploded, "Stop fronting! You ain't scaring me. This is reality, not a game. Fine, I'll let you go today, but if I see you again, you'll regret it for the rest of your life!"

Today's encounter was sudden, and she wasn't prepared. Once ready, dealing with a fugitive would be easy.

Mr. White and the others were also planning. They'd definitely find someone to teach him a lesson!

"Who are you going to make regret for the rest of their life?"

A voice suddenly came. An old man entered with six bodyguards behind him.

Seeing the old man, Mr. White and the others trembled.

This was a big shot!
