21- Pretty Good Intentions

I am working to be the person you deserve, and even though we are physically separated, I want you to know that my heart is always with you. —

As Everth let the words flow, the letters piled up like chapters of a story still unfinished. Each fold in the paper carried with it the hope of a reconciliation, but also the uncertainty of whether those words would ever reach receptive ears.

— Perhaps these letters are not enough to repair the past, but they are a step forward. A step toward the possibility of a new beginning. — Everth commented as he reflected.

Saving the letters carefully, Everth clung to the hope that, one day, he would be able to deliver them in person and that the written words would seal a new story between him and Jade. Meanwhile, in her new home, Jade continued her own journey, oblivious to the

flow of letters that patiently awaited their destiny.

As Jade organized her new home, excitement flowed through every corner of the

space she now called her own. Every decorative choice and personal touch resonated

with a sense of rebirth. The scent of new candles mingled with the

freshness of freshly washed sheets, creating an atmosphere that inspired hope and

promises of better days.

— This is for you, Grandma. You wanted me to always be okay, and here I am,

building a new life full of possibilities. I know you are somewhere,

guiding me and watching over me from wherever you are. — Jade smiled as she

placed a photograph of her.

Every step Jade took in her newly furnished apartment was like a dance

between nostalgia for the past and anticipation for the future. The once bare walls now came alive with vibrant colors and lovingly selected memories. One photograph in particular transported her to moments shared with her grandmother, reminding her of the strength and wisdom she had passed on to her.

“This is our new beginning, Grandma. Even though you are no longer physically with me, I

feel your presence in every corner of this place. I am determined to live the life you

always dreamed for me,” Jade said as she whispered.

The evening light filtered through the newly hung curtains, illuminating the room

with a comforting warmth. Jade allowed herself a moment of reflection, contemplating the

change she was experiencing and the strength she had found in herself to

keep going.

“This is my space, my refuge. And I am determined to fill it with love, joy, and new

opportunities. For you, Grandma,” Jade said as she smiled passionately.

The possibility of losing Jade affected him deeply. He realized that he had made mistakes, and the need to make amends became more pressing with each day he spent behind bars.

“I didn’t realize how important she was to me until she was out of my reach. But if there is a chance to get her back, I will do everything I can,” Everth says thoughtfully.

What Everth didn’t know was that while he was pondering and planning how to rebuild his life with Jade, she was already forging her own path. The distance between them was widening, and their lives were going their separate ways without either of them knowing.

Meanwhile, in a small hostel near the beach, Jade was busy setting up her new home. She decorated enthusiastically, seeking to turn the place into a cozy refuge. However, her heart carried with it the echoes of the memories she had shared with Everth.

— It's time to start over, to build a life for myself. But what does that mean for us, Everth? Can we find our way back to each other?

—Jade commented thoughtfully.

The physical and emotional distance between Everth and Jade became increasingly palpable, and

while both tried to rebuild their lives separately, the future remained shrouded in uncertainty.

In the silence of his cell, Everth immersed himself in the task of putting his thoughts on paper.

Each word was a whisper from his heart, a sincere attempt to communicate his deepest feelings to Jade, the woman who occupied his mind and soul. Although the physical

distance between them seemed insurmountable, the written letters became invisible threads that tried to weave an emotional bridge.

— Dear Jade, these letters are my way of connecting with you, of expressing what

sometimes spoken words cannot convey. I don't know when they will reach you, but

I hope that one day you will find them and feel the sincerity they contain. — Everth said

while murmuring as she wrote.

Each letter became a window to her soul, revealing her regrets, her

longings and her determination to build a different future. The ink on the paper

became a witness to her fervent desire to make amends for the mistakes of the past and the

hope of a reunion.

Everth (continuing the letter)…

— I miss every moment we shared, every laugh shared and every challenge

overcome together. There is not a day when I do not think of you and the life we could have.

The cell, though austere, became a temporary refuge for Everth as he

awaited news. Time seemed to stretch out, and the uncertainty about his future

kept him in suspense.

Days later, Ivan finally managed to make progress in finding the lawyer. However,

complications arose unexpectedly, and the need to manage previous matters

further delayed the hiring of the legal professional.

Ivan (on the call with Everth)

— Friend, things are more tangled than I thought. But be patient, I

am doing my best to speed things up. I found a lawyer, but there are some matters

that need to be resolved before I take your case. —

I understand, Ivan. I don't want you to get into trouble for me. Just do what you can, and

I appreciate your effort. — Everth comments frustrated, but understanding.

Even though the situation was tense, the connection between Ivan and Everth remained strong. Ivan’s loyalty and determination resonated in every word, giving Everth a ray of hope in the midst of adversity. “Ivan has always been there for me, even when things get complicated. I can’t let this situation affect our friendship,” Everth says, reflecting.

In the cell, Everth took the time to reflect on friendship, loyalty, and the importance of having someone to trust. As he waited patiently, the certainty that his friend was doing everything he could to help him gave him strength to face the challenges ahead.

As the days passed, uncertainty remained the only constant in Everth’s life. However, his determination to face the situation bravely and Ivan's promise of support provided a glimmer of light amidst the darkness that surrounded him.

As Everth waited in the cell, his mind became a labyrinth of thoughts. Not only was he worried about his legal situation, but he also reflected on his personal life. Jade occupied a prominent place in his thoughts, and the idea of how he could get her back and offer her the life she deserved became a constant in his mind.

"I must fix things with Jade. Not only for me, but for her. I want to give her the life she deserves, a life full of happiness and stability," Everth said introspectively.
