44- When waves move faster

She herself noticed that Helena had a flat belly, confirming that she had already had her

baby.

The redhead said no more, closing the apartment door tightly.

-Helena, please..." the blonde begged, resting her hand on the door. -You hate me, I know, I

deserve that and more.

-How do you have the nerve to come to my house? You never liked me.

-I still don't like you... -she started to say and cursed herself for being so mouthy- Listen

Helena... I didn't come here to be your friend or anything like that, I just want you to know the

truth.

Helena stood at the door, looking through the hole where she could breathe out, she

observed the blonde and noticed her sad face, she looked really sorry.

-If it's one of your games I won't hesitate to kick you, even if you're pregnant," he threatened.

-I promise you it's true.

Helena sighed and thought:

"I don't know why I do this, I should stop being so nice."

Helena slowly opened the door and stepped aside.

Katlyn smiled sideways and shyly walked through-

-Permission.

Helena closed the door and sat down on the couch with her arms crossed.

Katlyn sat in the armchair across from her.

-David, stay with the children," the redhead exclaimed seriously.

The man didn't say anything else and left, later he would ask Helena who the fuck that

strange woman was.

-I see you're in a couple, I'm happy for you.

-David is just a friend," she exclaimed curtly.

-Oh, I see.

"Too late for regrets" The little voice in her head spoke to her.

She reached the floor and stepped out of the elevator, feeling her knees go weak and she

would fall to the floor fainting, since she had become pregnant she had become a fragile

woman and she had to take extra care of herself so she wouldn't fall ill, her baby was taking

all her energy and vitality, Even so, the blonde did not hesitate to continue with the

pregnancy, it was not because she no longer wanted an inheritance, especially because she

could not share it with her now dead husband, but because she felt that this child was the

only thing that was hers, because she had nothing left.

Without realizing it she was already at the door and without much hesitation she knocked

twice, taking a few steps backwards and waiting for the door to be opened.

He swallowed his fear and took courage, he would tell the truth and leave there forever.

A young man she didn't know opened the door for her and she wondered if he was the

young woman's new boyfriend, unable to help but feel jealous of it as she saw that the

redhead had managed to turn over a new leaf quickly after the death of her secret lover.

The blonde felt that she would never be able to get over Sebastian.

-Hello?" the man asked, seeing that the blonde didn't say anything.

-Oh, sorry, hello," she exclaimed nervously, "Is Helena here?

David looked her up and down with suspicion, he didn't know this woman, but luckily Katlyn

had been smart and hadn't worn branded clothes that would give away her status, she could

be mistaken for an ordinary woman.

-Wait a minute..." she exclaimed, leaning against the door, "Helena!

-What?!" she heard from inside and Katlyn felt her heart pounding.

It had definitely been a bad idea.

How was she sure that woman wouldn't beat her up right there for how cruel she had been

to her since her first day at Aller Company?

There was a good chance that would happen. If she hadn't been pregnant she would have

let it happen. Because she deserved it.

She half-turned, ready to run away from there before the redhead peeked out, but no sooner

had she turned her back than she heard the voice of that young woman who had irritated her

so much a while back.

-Katlyn?

Helena looked at her in shock, her light blue gaze drifting down to the blonde's belly.

8I just wanted you to know the truth

Katlyn waited patiently for Alan to leave the house to go to his company, she felt the sweat

running down her forehead and on the palms of her hands that she kept rubbing nervously,

she had planned it for days, she needed to talk to Helena, she was not going to be able to

endure one more sleepless night with guilt swirling around in her head.

She waited an hour longer since her husband had obligingly left the house, trying to be

cautious that he didn't suspect she was about to sneak out for a while.

Thanks to one of her friends, whom she had to make up a silly excuse so he wouldn't

suspect, she managed to get the redhead's current address. She wrote it down on a piece of

paper and erased the message, getting rid of any evidence Alan might take against her.

With her now bigger belly, sunglasses covering most of her face and a sports cap, she

headed downtown, taking several cabs to confuse anyone who might be following her, until

finally arriving at Helena's building.

She glanced at the communicator at the entrance of the building and held her index finger a

few inches from the button.

What would she tell him? She was sure Helena wouldn't want to listen to her and wouldn't

open the door.

To her luck, an elderly couple came out of the building and gave her time to get her foot in

before the door closed, entering the building and quickly getting into the elevator.

As she walked up to the floor where the apartment was located, she thought over and over

again if this was all a good idea, she was risking her own life, but it was too late to regret it,

whether she talked to him or not, she had already gotten there and if Alan discovers her he

wouldn't believe her that she didn't get to talk to the redhead.
