Chapter 4 My Mate's Young Brother

Solaine's POV

I experienced excruciating agony. He is completely blind to it. He turned a blind eye to the undeniable truth that Selene relentlessly tormented me, despite my relentless efforts to restore her to the esteemed role of Luna. I've relinquished my title, and now I'm being scrutinized as if I've committed a grave transgression. The weight of my actions has finally dawned upon them, as they come to the horrifying realization of the life I have stolen from my own sister.

"Hey," I gently placed the glass of freshly squeezed orange juice onto the rustic wooden table. Just as I did, Selene sauntered into the room, her face adorned with a mischievous grin that stretched from ear to ear.

"Sel, don't have time to argue with you. You possess the very things that ignite your desires. Congratulations!" I said, feeling a profound ache in the depths of my heart.

Her perfectly arched eyebrow ascended gracefully, adding a touch of intrigue to her approach. "Solaine, your congratulations are unnecessary for me. I wish for your life to be extinguished at this very moment. I am still unable to fully embrace and come to terms with the reality of things."

Her once clear eyes are now transforming into a fiery shade of crimson. Her body tensed, muscles coiling like a predator ready to pounce. The glint in her eyes hinted at a primal instinct, as if she were on the brink of transforming into her wolf form and launching a ferocious assault.

I let out a sharp gasp, my breath catching in my throat, as she bursts into a joyous laughter that fills the air. "Solaine, you truly are a peculiar being. Did you sleep with him?" she accused, her voice dripping with suspicion and anger. My eyes are stretched wide, taking in every detail, while a tight knot forms in my throat. I vigorously shook my head, my disbelief palpable.

"Speak the truth," she commanded, her voice firm and unwavering.

"I am fully aware of the truth. Xander told me everything. He claimed that you coerced him into sleeping with him, leaving him feeling completely powerless." she delivered her words with a deadpan expression, her laughter devoid of any trace of humor.

I confronted her, my eyes filled with unmistakable anguish.

"What is it that you desire-"

"This is what I want," she interjected, her fingers tangling in my hair, tugging me towards her with an irresistible force she drew me closer, I could feel the warmth of her body enveloping me, her heart pounding against my ear like a rhythmic symphony.

Her voice, barely audible, slithered into my ear like a venomous serpent. "I want to extinguish you," she hissed, her words dripping with icy malice.

"I crave the piercing sound of your scream, the desperate pleas that escape your lips, and the tears that flow uncontrollably from your eyes." With a fierce desire burning in her eyes, she forcefully shoves me to the ground. The impact is brutal, my face colliding with the unforgiving marble floor, causing a sharp, agonizing moan to escape my lips. I am utterly defenseless, unable to muster any resistance.

"Stop!"

"I shall put an end to this seething hatred within me, but only if you kindly refrain from uttering another word." with a menacing warning, she lunged towards me, her foot aiming for my face. But in a swift move, I seized her hand, preventing her attack. As her balance faltered, she tumbled to the ground, letting out a piercing scream that echoed through the room.

I sprang to my feet, my heart pounding in my chest as panic surged through my veins. "Enough with the theatrics, Selene!" I pleaded with her, desperately reaching out to grasp her hand, but she twisted my actions into a forceful push.

In response, her cries escalated, resonating through the room with the dramatic intensity of a seasoned theater actress.

"Damn it! Do you honestly believe that I will be moved to pity you?" I curled my lip in contempt, and a delicate whimper escaped her lips.

"Selene!" Xander called out, his voice echoing through the empty hallways.

Xander burst into the kitchen, his presence catching her off guard. In one swift motion, he scooped her up into his arms, his touch both gentle and firm. As she let out a soft whimper, he leaned in and pressed a tender kiss to her forehead.

"It's alright,"

"What in the world did you do to her, Solaine!?" Xander's patience reached its breaking point as he released Selene from his grip, carefully putting her down-he tucked her hair to her ear.

I vigorously shook my head, desperately attempting to form words, but his piercing gaze sent waves of agony coursing through me.

"You have to stop this, Solaine. Why do you keep doing this to your sister?" He pleaded desperately, his voice filled with anguish and desperation.

No. Please, don't. I want to tell him that. I want to tell him I didn't do it.

"I-I couldn't hurt her-"

"God damn it, Sol! I witnessed it with my very own eyes, the pain you were inflicting upon her. If you persist in repeating this behavior, I may be compelled to expel you from our pack. Consider yourself fortunate that I have bestowed upon you the rare opportunity to remain in our presence!" His words slice through my heart like a relentless barrage of razor-sharp blades, each strike leaving a searing pain that reverberates with every beat.

Xander, I'm telling you. I swear, I didn't lay a finger on her.

Just as I was about to share my thoughts with him, Denver burst into the room.

"Seize her tightly and confine her within the impenetrable walls of captivity. It's the ultimate solution to put an end to her meddling with Selene." I can't help but shake my head, tears welling up in my eyes.

"Xander, I beg of you, please don't go through with this-"

"S-She hurt me, Xander." Selene's voice trembled, her words stumbling out as tears streamed down her cheeks. She pressed her face against Xander's chest, seeking solace in his embrace.

He gently pressed his hand against her back, offering a comforting touch. "Hush. Rest assured, she won't be able to inflict any more harm upon you," he whispered, his words barely audible over my piercing screams.

I pleaded with Denver, desperately urging him not to confine me within the suffocating walls-with a firm grip, he yanked my hand, forcefully dragging me away from the bustling kitchen. As I emerged, my eyes locked on Selene, her radiant smile beaming with an absence of any trace of pain. She's a deceitful and duplicitous individual.

You despicable, spiteful creature!

All I yearned for was to unleash a piercing scream, but it remained trapped within the confines of my being, unable to break free. Denver couldn't care less. He's pulling me forcefully, his grip tight around my wrist, as we navigate our way through the desolate hallway towards the eerie, forgotten room.

"You're hurting me," I whimpered, my voice barely a whisper as waves of pain threatened to consume me. I teetered on the edge of consciousness, my body growing weak, but he callously hoisted me up, his gaze refusing to meet my pleading eyes. I can vividly perceive that he remains unchanged.

As I gently placed my hand on his shoulder, a sharp pang shot through my stomach, causing me to wince in discomfort. "Release your grip on me, Denver." I bellowed with authority.

"Stop it, I'm hurting," My heart raced as I stumbled over my words, my speech faltering with each syllable.

A surge of fear shot through me, causing my eyes to widen in disbelief. At that moment, my gaze fell upon my leg, a horrifying sight that made my blood run cold. It was drenched in crimson, a macabre tableau of my own life force seeping out.

"Release me!" I bellowed, my voice dripping with fury, as I mustered one final command. With a forceful shove, he sent me crashing to the ground. As I fell, his eyes widened and his nostrils flared in a mix of shock and anger, taking in the sight of my legs drenched in a pool of crimson.

I can clearly perceive the sheer panic that has taken hold of him.

"Fuck, I have to call Xander-"

"No," I interjected, my mouth trembling and my lips parched. "Lead me swiftly to the doctor," I added a voice that quivered with fear and uncertainty.

"Allow me to seize her." In a low, resonant voice, a man declared, I sensed the world fading around me, but I recognized him instantly. It was Axel Zephyr Havoc, Xander's younger brother, who shared my exact age.
