Chapter 4
Candance's POV
I pleaded with you in a feeble manner, "Let my child out of this." There is no need for you to hold a grudge against her.
He punched me in the face and said, "Bold of you to believe that you can talk back at me!" as he left the room. He drew a long line with the knife down my sides and said, "Because you have a cursed mutt for a child, that is the reason why you wish to hurt my child and my partner."
As he thrust the knife into my sides, I let out a scream from the pain.
It was necessary for me to implore Beta Louie to "please, please." I pleaded for pardon because I could not bear the amount of suffering any longer. He gave me an evil grin and muttered, "I believe I have had enough with you," before hurling the knife away and removing the handcuffs from his wrists.
While I was falling, my head hit the ground, and I immediately started crying.
He yelled at me while kicking me hard and told me to make sure I got back to the packhouse in time to make supper for everyone and to be at Jasmine's side to tend to her needs. "Make sure you get back to the packhouse in time to make dinner for everyone!"
When he emerged from the torture cell and abruptly shut the door behind him, I was startled. As he walked away, I was lying in a pool of blood, and I had no idea how I was going to get out of there alive.
When she flung the dish at me, I dove to avoid it, and it smashed against the wall and shattered into pieces.
She wailed and exclaimed, "I don't want anything!" As she proceeded to insult me, I began to tremble out of dread that the Beta would re-enter the room and punish me for disturbing his mate. "That stinks fucking nasty, hell, it smells as bad as you."
Today, he was responsible for my injuries, and I was still bleeding and in pain all over my body.
I was able to escape the torture chamber and find my way back to the packhouse. As soon as I got there, I went straight to the kitchen to start preparing dinner, all the while being ridiculed and teased by the other members of the pack about how I looked, why beta didn't kill me, and why I shouldn't be putting blood in their food.
I had accomplished my goal of making their dinner without being smacked or suffocated. I was also able to escape the kitchen without being discovered by the warriors, who, if they had caught me, would have used me for the entirety of the night as was their tradition.
I halted my movement and stood in front of Jasmine as she moaned. She made it clear that she wanted a certain dish, which I prepared for her, and now she was moaning that it had an unpleasant flavor.
I staggered into the kitchen as I heard her cry, "Go prepare some soup for me right now!" and she demanded that I do it for her. I finished it up in a hurry and handed it over to her. When she glared at me while accepting the meal, I waited for her to give me instructions while I waited for her to accept the food.
"Get away!"
In response to her comments, I exited the area she was in and went into the kitchen. I was in charge of finishing the dishes and cleaning up the messes that the other members of the pack had made. After I had finished for the day, I made my way down to the basement while still carrying the pancakes that I had planned on selecting earlier.
Since I hadn't seen Chloe since we left the institution where people were being tortured, I believed that she was probably in the basement with Fluffy playing. After arriving at my destination, I went inside. The object I was holding gave way as I let out a piercing shout in response to the scene that I saw, and then it plummeted to the ground.
I approached her and yelled, "No!" as tears streamed down my cheeks. What I was seeing was unbelievable.
Chloe lying on the ground, dazed and soaked in her own blood. I knelt beside her and pulled her up.
"What happened, baby?" I inquired. "How did you end up?"
"It's the Beta," she coughed, spitting blood from her lips. It happened when he kicked me."
I kept my mouth shut. I dashed over to the mattress and threw her down. I couldn't take her to the pack doctor because we couldn't enter a hospital and I couldn't heal her on my own.
I brushed her blonde hair to the side and touched her face as I noticed her face become paler as she became weaker and coughed up spurts of blood. When I removed her top, I noticed a gash-like wound on her torso.
"How could he have harmed our pet in this manner!" shouted Dahlia.
"First, we need to find a way to heal her, and I don't know what to do," I informed Dahlia, "so please calm down."
Dahlia stayed silent for a long time, and I turned my gaze to Chloe. She suffered numerous sicknesses since she relocated at the age of three. She turned out to be a silver wolf like myself because, unlike her, I had not gone through premature shifting, which had considerably debilitated her owing to the difficult shifting process.
"That's all there is to it! Encourage her to talk to her wolf to help her heal; I'm confident it will work!" Dahlia made a remark.
I agreed with Dahlia and reared Chloe.
"Baby," I said to her as I leaned her up against the wall.
She said gently, "Yeah, Mama," adding, "I feel so wobbly. Is it possible that I will perish? "Will I get to meet Grandma?"
