Dream or Reality?
“Leander, can you hear me? Wake up, darling.”
That voice was so faint at first that Blaze Davies couldn't believe his ears. However, over time it seemed more real. He also felt a delicate caress on his face.
‘What?’
The black-haired man opened his eyes and gasped immediately as he noticed a strange woman on top of him. The room was dimly lit at that time so he couldn't see her clearly. Even so, he could catch how beautiful and voluptuous her body was.
"W-Who..."
"It's me, Leander. Your mate." The woman whispered and drew closer. Only then did he realize that they were touching skin to skin. He could even feel her breasts bump against his chest. "It's Lillianne."
Lillianne?
He thought he had heard that name somewhere. Wait, isn't that the name mentioned by the woman he met at the bar earlier? Now he remembered that he also recognized her voice.
"Y-You? What are you doing here--" He was about to get up, but he realized he couldn't. His hands were tied which restricted his movement. "Wh-What is this? Release me!" He tried to break free but he couldn't.
"Relax, baby. I just want to play a little game with you. No need to worry," she answered with a giggle.
"What?" He was speechless a little. "Untie me! Why are you even here?" he asked angrily, still struggling with the handcuffs. How did she even get those things in the first place? Crazy!
"That's such a hilarious question. Why am I here? Of course, it's a must. I will find you no matter what." She whispered into his ear, making him shudder. The woman drew even closer. She tightened her embrace and clung more and more to his neck. "I missed you, Leander. I missed you so much..."
"I told you that I am not him. Oh, please, untie me! Are you insane?" Blaze screamed, getting more impatient. "Hey--"
"Shh..." She shushed him. Her slender index finger touched his lips. "Come on, don't make a fuss, darling. Save your energy for later. Just follow my lead and everything will be fine. I promise to make you feel good."
This woman was mentally ill. Talking to her seemed to be useless. However, there was nothing he could do. He was completely under her control.
The hug got tighter. She rubbed her body more and more against his. Blaze couldn't help but hold his breath. The tension was so crazy.
"Leander, no, I mean, Blaze. Blaze Davies." And the way she said his name. It was hard for him to explain, but there was something different about it. "How have you been all this time? Did you miss me as much as I missed you to death?"
Blaze didn't answer. He needed to control his breathing as it rapidly increased, just like his heart did the same thing.
"Tell me, Blaze. Don't hold back," she whispered again, stroking his broad chest sensually. Her nose sniffed his neck. "Let me know..."
"S-Stop it..." His voice only grew weaker.
Blaze can't help but think about how this woman had been bothering him from the moment he first laid his eyes on her. He didn't want to admit it but immediately felt an unusual sensation. Not only a little stunned by her beauty, his heart skipped a beat for her. That was why he ignored her before. He felt it was so wrong.
Things got worse at the moment. While he wasn't sure whether this was real or just a dream, he realized that every touch of hers made him aroused. He wanted more of it. He wanted her.
'No. What am I thinking? I can't do this to Rhea.'
“Stop this and release me. This is so wrong." Blaze tried to struggle again, shaking those dirty thoughts out of his mind. “I can't do this. I-I already have--“
“I don't care. You are initially mine anyway!" The woman seemed disturbed by that. She pressed his shoulders harder, gritting her teeth. "Look, stop talking about anybody else, Blaze. It will only ruin the mood."
"But, I--"
His words were interrupted when she suddenly kissed him. Blaze froze as an even more intense stinging sensation hit him.
She was such a good kisser, he must say. Her lips skillfully ate his with both hands resting on his cheeks to make it deeper. It got even crazier when their tongues touched. Blaze could taste the sweet flavor of Rum from there. That was quite addictive.
'N-No. Come back to your senses, Blaze. Get your shit together."
He closed his eyes. It was increasingly difficult to resist her temptation. On the other hand, as if she understood his struggle, the wild woman teased him even more. It stimulated something down there.
At that moment, he felt the ties on his hands had been released. He was free. However, instead of following his thoughts to push the woman away, Blaze grabbed her small waist to bring her closer. He even rolled over so he was the one on top.
'You are stuck in shit, Blaze. You'd better retreat now.'
He heard it in his head, but he didn't listen to it. Instead, he kissed her back very passionately. He couldn't stop himself as the woman put her arms around his neck to make it more intimate.
She was so beautiful. That was something he couldn't deny. And seeing her lying beneath him like this, as the moonlight hit her figure, made him even more unable to take his hands off her. He was trapped!
'It's okay, You don't need to worry about anything. You just need to focus on me.' Strangely, he heard her voice in his head after that. 'I love you, Blaze. I am yours and you are mine. Nobody can separate us anymore. Let's love each other forever.'
'I-I love you too, Lillianne. Let's love each other forever."
He must be crazy. How come he heard those in his mind and what's with those confessions? They had just met a few hours ago, though. He was also in a relationship with someone else.
However, he didn't want to think about that. His head was full of her and all the pleasure she might offer. He was lost in it.
"Lillianne..."
Blaze Davies gasped as he opened his eyes. He jolted awake and scanned the room, finding no one but himself in there.
He checked himself after that, finding he still had his boxers on. The mattress also looked quite neat. There was no sign of any passionate activity going on here like his last night's memory. There was no trace of her either.
"Was that just a dream?" he muttered while checking his wrists. There should have been scratches from the handcuffs from how hard he tried to take it off last night, but there weren't any.
His cell phone rang shortly after that. Blaze's expression tensed a bit when he saw the name 'my Sweetest Eve' there. He even needed time to prepare himself, before finally picking it up.
"Yeah, baby. Daddy is awake now. I am going to get ready for my flight."
Throughout the flight, Blaze kept thinking about the mysterious woman. He was still confused about what happened last night. If it was just a dream, why did it feel so real?
'For God's sake, why do I keep thinking about it? I have to stop. What the fuck!' Blaze was frustrated with himself so he smacked his head. 'Whatever happens, I shouldn't be like this. I can't do this to Rhea and Evelyn. Get your head straight, bastard.'
Blaze chose to distract himself with his work. He was determined to bury those crazy fantasies deep inside him forever. He couldn't mess up his perfect life. Besides, he would never see that woman again anyway.
He landed in Los Angeles after a twelve-hour flight. He decided to leave whatever happened back on Gozo Island. He had the perfect life in the US. He just needed to focus on that.
"Dad!"
He heard a familiar voice as he exited the arrivals terminal. Among the crowds, a little girl ran excitedly towards him.
"Hey, my baby. How are you?" The man knelt to match the girl's height, letting her run into his arms.
"I miss you, Dad," the girl whispered while hugging him tight.
"Miss you too, honey."
Blaze's gaze was fixed on the most important person in her life. Guilt hit him again. He always loved Evelyn Davies more than anything. After her mother's tragic passing, Blaze wanted nothing but the best for her. It included his vow to never marry again. He will dedicate his life to be loyal to the late Rhea for Evelyn's sake.
That's why his wild imagination last night was a mistake that shouldn't have happened. During these six years, he has never wavered at all. He won't let everything change just because a random stranger he met once.
"Let's go home, honey. I have a special gift for you," said Blaze as he took his daughter out of there. They left the airport with laughter. Happiness looked good on them.
A few days later.
"Sir, your new secretary is here. She is waiting to see you." Theo Greg, his assistant, told him that when he arrived at Blaze Davies' office.
"Let her wait for a while. I am quite busy here," Blaze Davies replied without looking at him. His eyes were glued to his computer screen. "Honestly, I still can't believe we lost Sofia so suddenly like that. She was the best secretary ever. She had been with me for three years. I am not sure we will find a replacement as good as her," he mumbled.
"Me too, sir. She looked normal that day. She laughed and joked a lot as usual. Who would have thought that she chose to take her own life like that?" said Theo. "But you don't need to worry about the new secretary, sir. The HR team has chosen the best for you. I have also checked her resume and I am quite impressed. I think she will suit you too."
"I hope so or she will end up out of here crying." Blaze finally raised his face to look at the assistant. "Bring her in," he ordered.
"Yes, sir."
Blaze returned his attention to the computer screen. He needed to study their plans for the coming month. As a perfectionist, he always worked hard for the company.
The sound of the door opening was heard again a few moments later along with approaching footsteps. Blaze was still indifferent while focusing on his job.
"She is here, sir." Theo Greg's voice was heard again, but the boss was still paying no attention. "Please greet him," he encouraged the newbie.
"Hello, sir. Nice to meet you. I am your new secretary. My name is Lillianne Guinn."
Blaze was very surprised to hear his secretary's voice for the first time. That familiar name also rang a bell in his brain. He raised his head to see her, only to gape in disbelief at what he saw.
"Y-You..." He was at a loss for words.
The woman flashed a smirk. It struck him even more because it reminded him of that strange dream again. He had just gotten over it, though.
"I hope we can get along well, sir. I will work hard on it," she added, sending a confident smile to her potential boss.
