Little by Little

"Mr. Davies did get married about eight years ago. He has a 6-year-old daughter from it. However, misfortune happened to them. His wife passed during the childbirth."

"It left a deep wound on Mr. Davies. I heard that he decided to devote his entire life to his daughter and late wife. He was known to be loyal to her because he never was with another woman after that despite his looks and wealth. Many women tried to approach him, but they left empty-handed. It was said that his heart has been closed to anyone."

Lillianne took a deep breath while recalling Theodoros' narrative a few minutes ago. It bothered her so much that she kept thinking about it.

'How annoying. How could he be crazy over another woman when I was fighting tooth and nail for him. What's more ridiculous that he believed that she would be his last love? He was destined to be mine, though.'

The Luna couldn't control her jealousy again. She was such a very possessive lover.

'Well, I am relieved that she is no longer in this world, so I don't have to be a homewrecker to get him back. Even though I am sure that I can easily snatch him from her, at least I didn't have to do that immoral thing.' She paused for a moment as another thought disturbed her. 'But, I still need to think about his daughter instead. I believe she can be the biggest obstacle for me in the future.'

Lillianne checked the time. It was less than an hour before they were scheduled to meet the important client. She can't wait to see Leander again.

'I can't waste any more time.'

The Luna snapped her fingers. Her appearance changed in the blink of an eye because of that. She switched the broken white blazer with a soft pink one. By comparison, it looked more close-fitting and revealing than the previous one. Her make-up and hairstyle were also magically redone to give her a fresher look. The distinctive scent also wafted away from her voluptuous body.

'I am ready to be worshiped by you again, Leander.'

The secretary grabbed the telephone again to notify her boss.

"Hello, sir. I just wanted to remind you that our meeting with the client is approaching in thirty minutes."

The man didn't give her any response. He hung up the phone just like that. However, from her position, Lillianne could hear him moving closer to the door.

'Let's see how long you can pretend to ignore my charms, honey.'

Lillianne demonstrated her supernatural abilities again. She moved in the blink of an eye from the chair to the front door just as it opened. Blaze Davies, who was pushing the door, looked surprised by her presence in front of him.

"W-What are you doing here?" He stammered a little, even though he was trying to stay cool again.

"I thought you were having trouble inside, sir. Thus, I wanted to check on you," she reasoned while showing her sweet smile to him.

"You don't need to do that. I am not a child who can't do trivial things like that." Blaze scanned her body down. Is it just her, but did his face turn red instantly? He seemed hesitant to ask at first, but then let it out, "But, since when did you get change? Why?"

Lillianne smiled even wider. She felt satisfied that he recognized her efforts for him.

"Oh, I accidentally spilled my coffee during lunch, Sir. I decided to go home to get change."

Blaze frowned. It seemed he didn't believe what she was saying.

"This is only your first day and you messed it up so easily. I am becoming increasingly unsure to make you as my secretary."

"Isn't that not a problem as long as I don't ruin anything, sir?" she sought an excuse again, chuckling.

The boss didn't respond to her again. He chose to look away from her. He then spotted the figure of Theo Greg, who had only been watching the two of them from the doorway of his office.

"Well, everyone seems to be ready. Let's go then. We can't keep the clients waiting for long," Blaze said as he led them to leave the place.

Theo Greg immediately escorted him, followed by Lillianne who swam gracefully to catch up with them. She started to think about her next plan.

The situation did not match the Luna's expectations again.

All the way to the restaurant, Blaze completely ignored her. The man focused on his notebook while occasionally talking to Theo in the passenger seat. He ignored Lillianne who was sitting beside him.

She actually didn't give up just like that. She tried various ways to get his attention; deliberately sat sexily to show off her milky long legs to him, secretly spread more of her scent to attract him, and even initiated some conversation with him. However, everything was pointless. He acted like she was not there.

"Ms. Guinn, keep checking and studying the project before we get there. This deal is so important for Pageant. I won't forgive you if you mess it up. Understand?"

Yeah, that's all.

It was the only thing Blaze said to her throughout the ride. The man kept his cold attitude around her. It made Lillianne a little frustrated.

"Yeah, sir. I will do that," she said with a forced smile.

It only took about ten minutes until they arrived at the destination. Even there, Blaze Davies just left her in the car and went out first. He had warned Theo to help the newbies, though.

'So, you seriously want to keep being cold to me like this? Just wait, Blaze. I will break down your defenses. Like in the past and your two previous lives, I will captivate you again until you bend your knees in front of me. You will regret treating me like this,' she grumbled in her mind as she followed him down the car.

Mr. Jake Bolton of Black Coal arrived at the same time as them. The two companies greeted each other before the negotiations.

Lillianne realized that Mr. Bolton and his assistants paid too much attention to her since the beginning. She even easily sensed that the two men had fallen under her charm. Not only them, but several other visitors in this restaurant also couldn't take their eyes off her.

'Well, this is me. That's the real reaction. No one can resist my charisma.'

Liliianne was so proud of herself. Even though she ended up sighing in annoyance again when she glanced at the man beside her. She couldn't believe that the man she was flirting with kept being indifferent.

"Is she your secretary new, Mr. Davies? This is my first time seeing her," said Mr. Bolton. He kept stealing glances at Lillianne.

"That's right, sir. My old secretary has left for personal reasons." Blaze looked at her. "Say hello. This is Mr. Jake Bolton from Black Coal."

She flashed her signature seductive smile as she said, "Hello, sir. I am Lillianne Guinn, Mr. Davies' new secretary. Nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you too, Mr. Guinn. Woah, you have such a beautiful name, just like yourself," the married man was flirting with her.

"That's so sweet of you, sir. Thank you."

Lillianne stole a glance at her boss again. The man still didn't look like he was impressed.

"So, should we start the meeting now?" Blaze changed the topic.

“Yeah.”

It kept happening throughout the conversation. Mr Bolton couldn't seem to take his eyes off Lillianne at all. The man shamelessly kept looking at her, smiling, and occasionally inviting her to have small conversations.

It started to annoy the Luna. The man's face started to piss her. However, she knew that she needed to do well in this to maintain her position in the Pageant Corp. Apart from that, there was an idea inside to take advantage of this. She wanted to provoke Blaze's jealousy towards them.

"That's the detail related to this collaboration, Sir. I hope this can convince you to invest in our company," Lillianne concluded her long explanation to the client.

"Bravo... bravo!" Unexpectedly, Jake Bolton applauded enthusiastically as if Liliianne's explanation was a talent show or something. "Mr. Davies, you seem to have found a great secretary. Not only is she extraordinarily beautiful, but she also has the brain. She even quickly learned about this collaboration even though she just joined the team. You have a good eye for finding her," said the client, sounding exaggerated. He didn't realize that his own secretary frowned slightly at his remark because of envy.

Meanwhile, Blaze Davies never failed to give the blandest reaction ever.

"I am glad you like it, Mr. Bolton. So, should I assume that it was an agreement to invest in this project?" he asked the client again.

"Of course. It's not a difficult choice. Let's seal our deal." Mr. Bolton pulled out his fountain pen from his pocket. He glanced at Lillianne again before signing. "However, I just want to let you know that I am very impressed with Ms. Guinn's abilities. She was one of the reasons that convinced me to take this collaboration. She is so good," he said, sending a flirty look again at Lillianne.

"Thank you again, Mr. Bolton."

Lillianne and Blaze exchanged glances at that moment. Even though the man was still cold to her, Lillianne was confident that he didn't like every interaction she had with his client. She would take it as a sign of his jealousy towards her.

"Little by little before you realize your feelings and become mine again, my mate."
