Chapter 36 Explain Clearly to Henry
Ethan thought Henry was being a bit of a jerk since Alice had already bent over backwards to make peace.
Meanwhile, Alice stared at her phone, fuming after Henry hung up on her.
She chucked her phone onto the bed, then snatched it back up to open Facebook. She clicked on Henry's profile and started spamming him with emojis to blow off steam.
In her emoji frenzy, she didn't realize the messages were actually sending.
By the time she noticed, she'd already sent over a hundred emojis.
Alice jumped up from the bed. "He took me off the blacklist? No way! Oh my God! I need to withdrawn those emojis, like, now!"
She quickly typed: [Uncle Henry, I didn't mean it, my bad.]
But the message didn't go through because Henry had blocked her again.
Alice pressed her hand to her forehead. Those emojis were a perfect representation of her current mess.
Henry, who had been bombarded with over a hundred emojis, had a cold, dangerous look in his eyes.
He had taken her off the blacklist to hear her out, only to get a flood of emojis as her "explanation."
Was this her way of explaining things?
Henry was so mad he actually laughed, a sinister chuckle that made Ethan shiver.
Henry was seriously pissed.
Alice lay on the bed, feeling utterly hopeless. She had never felt so dumb in her life.
It had been hard enough to get Henry to soften up a bit, and she had blown it.
In her frustration, she made a bold decision.
She stood up and dialed a number. "Hello, Mr. Murphy, I'd like to discuss the share transfer contract for tomorrow."
At 1 AM, a black Volkswagen pulled up in front of the Savoy Villa.
Mia, half-asleep, heard the doorbell and cursed as she opened the door.
Mia rubbed her eyes and saw Alice standing there with a strange man. Her eyes were full of disdain and contempt, and she snapped, "Why are you back?"
Alice's face darkened. "Do I need to report to you when I come back?"
Since Alice returned to the Savoy Villa, the servants had never treated her like a lady of the Savoy Family. They didn't even bother to hide their sarcasm and disdain.
Mia sneered, "You really think you're the lady, huh? What, you found a random guy and can't even afford a room, so you came back to hook up?"
Alice raised an eyebrow. "Are you done?"
Seeing Alice's cold, sharp gaze, Mia felt a bit intimidated. "What do you want?"
Alice flexed her wrist and slapped Mia, knocking her to the ground and causing her to spit out a tooth.
Alice turned to Micah. "Mr. Murphy, did you record what she just said?"
Micah nodded, looking displeased. He hadn't expected Alice to be treated so poorly in this house, even by the servants.
He said to Mia, who was wailing on the ground, "I will sue you for defamation."
Mia finally realized what was happening and wanted to beg Alice for mercy. After all, even though working as a servant for the Savoy Family was tough, the pay was decent.
Alice gave her a cold glance, and her icy demeanor pinned Mia to the ground, unable to move.
The lights in the rooms upstairs gradually turned on, and Lester, Elodie, Zoey, and Clara came downstairs.
When they saw Alice standing in the living room with a sly smile, their expressions immediately turned sour.
Zoey, with disheveled hair, shouted, "You jerk! Do you know what time it is? Why did you bring a man here?"
Alice sat on the sofa, legs elegantly crossed, and looked up at the four on the stairs. "The shares needs to be transferred to my name today. I'm here to get the contract."
"You're doing this just to piss me off!" Zoey clutched her head in anger, and Clara quickly stepped forward to support her.
Lester angrily said, "Alice, do you know what time it is?"
Alice tapped her watch with her finger. "Of course I know. I came at this time on purpose."
After all, she was upset and needed some company.
Fuming with rage, Elodie stormed down. "Your dad has a heart condition, and your grandma gets headaches if she doesn't rest well. How can you be so heartless?"
"You have no place to speak in this house!" Alice shot her a cold glance.
Zoey, supported by Clara, slowly came down. "If she has no place to speak, do you?"
Alice looked around the room. "This villa and even the Savoy Family company originally belonged to the Capulet Family. Lester, you had nothing back then. Don't tell me you built the company yourself; it was all Capulet Family property. I initially just wanted the shares my mother left me, but now I've changed my mind. Anything that belongs to the Capulet Family, I want half of it!" She turned to Micah. "Mr. Murphy, give the contract to Mr. Savoy."
Micah pulled the contract from his briefcase and placed it on the coffee table.
Lester picked it up and read through it, "25% of the Savoy Group's shares and the dividends from the past 15 years, the subsidiaries of the Savoy Group..."
He listed over a dozen companies.
Then he looked at Alice. "What do you need so much for?"
Alice replied, "You're lucky I'm leaving you half, and that's only because you're my biological father."
Lester gritted his teeth. "I don't agree!"
Micah chuckled, "Mr. Savoy, it's not up to you. My client and I would only see you in court. By the way, I forgot to remind you, Mr. Savoy, our chances of winning this case are one hundred percent."
Alice smirked, "Clara is getting engaged to Oliver in half a month, right? I don't mind you receiving a court summons on their engagement day."
Lester was so furious that he felt his head aching, his face darkened. He sat down and picked up a pen to sign his name on the contract.
He then threw the pen on the ground, shattering it into pieces. "Are you satisfied now? Don't forget, you're part of the Savoy Family. When you marry Rupert, those gifts will belong to the Savoy Family too!"
Alice didn't want to waste any more words on him. She just took the contract and left with Micah.
Micah dropped Alice off at the entrance of her apartment complex and drove away.
Holding the documents in her hands, Alice felt no joy or sense of victory. If money could buy family affection, she would gladly trade all her money for it.
Alice slept until dawn. She tried to contact Henry, but he still hadn't taken her off the blacklist.
She decided to go find Henry and explain everything. He could dislike her, but he couldn't question her character! She, Alice, wasn't the kind of person who played around with people's feelings!
Of course, Alice didn't go empty-handed. She brought freshly made food to the Howard Group building.
The receptionist had seen her before and had even accepted the cakes and cookies she brought. Though Oliver had taken them, she was still grateful and treated Alice politely.
Moreover, Oliver had said Alice was his fiancée, and rumors were that they were getting engaged next month, making her a member of the Howard Family.
"Miss Savoy, you're here."
Alice smiled and nodded. "Hello."
The receptionist said, "Mr. Oliver Howard is so lucky to have such a wonderful fiancée who even brings him treats."
Alice sneered internally. This was a misunderstanding.
She didn't explain.
If she said the treats were for Henry, the receptionist would definitely change her attitude and kick her out.
After all, she had seen the receptionist kick out over forty women who came to see Henry without an appointment.
Some women refused to leave and were carried out by four security guards.
Alice nodded slightly. "I'll wait on the sofa over there."
"Alright, please go ahead."
In the CEO's office.
Ethan stood by the desk while reporting the upcoming schedule to Henry, "At 11 AM, Harper Hughes from Harvard Real Estate has invited you to inspect a new property and have lunch together." Then he cleared his throat, "Ms. Hughes is worried you might decline, so she's waiting in the lobby downstairs."
"Decline."
"Yes." Ethan cleared his throat again, "Mr. Howard, Miss Savoy is waiting downstairs. She said she has something to discuss with you and has brought some homemade treats."
Henry lifted his chiseled face with a barely noticeable smile. "Are you her assistant? Speaking so highly of her?"
Ethan stared at his feet. "No, I just thought since it's almost noon, Mr. Howard, you might want to have some treats to whet your appetite."
"If this happens again, report to HR!"
Ethan nodded and turned to leave.
"Wait."
Ethan turned back. "Mr. Howard, your instructions?"
Henry glanced at his watch. "Prepare the car; we're going to inspect the new property."
Ethan replied, "Yes."
Henry had just refused, hadn't he?
Why did he suddenly change his mind?
