Chapter 4 The Flames of Jealousy

In his mind, Bella is his and his alone, and she must atone for her father's sins, and no other man should even think of coming near her.

Even though Sterling went to the same school, he'd taught himself all of the school's classes, and there was nothing left for him to learn there.

He'd come today just to get some information about Bella from Principal Oliver Johnson.

“Ms. Gray does well in school and takes her homework very seriously. All the teachers speak highly of her.” Oliver said politely and smiled at Sterling.

Sterling didn't return the smile. Instead, he pulled out a check, scribbled a number on it, and set it down on the table. “I'm pleased with your assessment of Bella. Use this money to renovate the school.”

Oliver picked up the check with a bit of excitement and cracked even more of a smile when he saw the number on it.

As principal, he was probably the person who had gotten the most investment for the school over the years. His feats would surely go down in the school's hall of fame.

“Also, I have two more things.” Sterling suddenly said.

“Go ahead.” Oliver immediately sat up straight and replied respectfully.

Sterling raised an eyebrow and said, “First, I will cover all of Bella's future educational expenses. I'll make the donation anonymously, and you can't tell her it's from me.”

Oliver nodded. It was no difficulty and perfectly fine to.

Sterling then pulled out his cell phone and displayed a picture of James and handed it to Oliver.

“I don't want to see him at this school again. You arrange it.” He said coldly.

The Savoys were wealthy in the city, but they couldn't compete with the influence of the Windsors.

Oliver figured that if he relayed Sterling's message to Eddie Savoy, James' father, Eddie would make the right decision.

“Mr. Windsor, don't worry, I'll take care of it.” Oliver then said seriously.

Sure enough, things were just as Oliver expected. Eddie was still wise.

After school, James found out from Eddie that he was arranged to study abroad. He was very shocked when he heard the news.

Eddie hadn't divulged any information before.

“Dad, why would you suddenly ask me to study abroad?” James asked suspiciously.

Eddie could only sigh and relay the principal's persuasion and said resentfully, “You have offended Sterling, and this arrangement is for the sake of our entire family's cause.”

James stood by the window with his fists clenched in anger and looked out; he wasn't totally against studying abroad, he just couldn't bear to part with Bella.

James was silent in his room for a long time and finally made his decision regarding the Windsors' request.

After school, Bella had just entered the house when she was once again told by Zoe that Sterling wanted to see her.

Feeling uneasy, Bella walked to the door of her study.

Oliver had told her that a philanthropist was willing to fund her education and that the school would provide her with the necessary necessities.

Bella thought hard about it, there were other students at the school who were having a harder time than she was, so why was this this kind philanthropist only sponsoring her, no need to think it must be Sterling.

She thought, 'I'll just go and thank him and show my gratitude.'

It was only with this thought that Bella had the courage to go in, and she took a deep breath, turned the doorknob, and stepped into the study.

Sterling was sitting by the fireplace reading a book. Raising his eyes to meet hers, he said with contemptuous sarcasm.

“That scarf of yours should be warm, shouldn't it? Why aren't you wearing it?”

Bella frowned. What did he mean? Was it a reference to James' scarf?

She had asked Anna to return the scarf to him after school.

But how did Sterling know about the scarf? Had Sterling been stalking her!

Thinking about it Bella said a little angrily, “Did you call me here just to mock me?”

Sterling narrowed his eyes and said coldly, “I can tell you that as of tomorrow, James won't be around anymore.”
