Chapter 4 The Flames of Jealousy

Sterling was fuming, and it was all because of his jealousy.

In his mind, Bella was his and his alone. No other guy should even think about getting close to her.

Even though Sterling went to the same school, he had already taught himself everything they had to offer. There was nothing left for him to learn there.

He showed up today just to get some info about Bella from Principal Oliver Johnson.

"Ms. Grey is doing great in her studies, and she puts in a lot of effort on her assignments. All the teachers think very highly of her," Oliver said politely, smiling at Sterling.

Sterling didn't smile back. Instead, he pulled out a check, scribbled a number on it, and placed it on the table. "I'm pleased with your assessment of Bella. Use this money to renovate the school."

Oliver eagerly folded the check and slipped it into his pocket.

As a principal, he probably secured the most investment for the school over the years. His achievements would definitely be recorded in the school's hall of fame.

"Also, I have two more things," Sterling said, holding up two fingers.

"Go ahead," Oliver replied respectfully, sitting up straight, ready to listen.

Sterling continued, "First, I'll cover all of Bella's future educational expenses. I'll donate anonymously, and you can't tell her it's from me."

Oliver nodded. That was easy enough to handle.

Sterling then pulled out his phone and showed a photo of James.

"I don't want to see him at this school anymore. Make it happen," he said coldly.

"Alright, Mr. Windsor, don't worry; I'll take care of it," Oliver said seriously.

The Savoy family was wealthy in this city, but they couldn't compete with the Windsor family's influence.

Oliver figured that if he passed on Sterling's message to Eddy Savoy, James's dad, Eddy would make the right call.

And sure enough, things went just as Oliver expected.

After school, James found out from Eddy that he was going to study abroad. He was shocked when he heard the news.

"Dad, why is this happening?" James asked angrily.

Eddy sighed, "It's for the safety of our family."

James stood by the window, looking out, and sighed deeply.

He wasn't entirely against studying abroad; he just couldn't bear to leave Bella.

James stayed silent in his room for a long time before finally making a decision.

After school, Bella was once again told by Zoey that Sterling wanted to see her.

Feeling uneasy, Bella approached the study door.

Oliver had already informed her that a philanthropist was willing to sponsor her education and that the school would provide her with any necessary supplies.

Bella didn't need to think hard to figure out that the kind philanthropist was definitely Sterling.

She thought, 'I'll just thank him to show my gratitude, and that will give me the courage to go in.'

Bella took a deep breath, turned the doorknob, and walked into the study.

Sterling was sitting by the fireplace reading a book. The first thing he said when he saw Bella was a sarcastic remark.

"Where's the scarf around your neck? It should be very warm, right? Why aren't you wearing it?"

Bella frowned.

James had put the scarf around her neck, but after school, she had asked Anna to return it.

But how did Sterling know about the scarf? This meant Sterling had been following her!

"Did you call me here just to mock me?" Bella asked coldly, looking at Sterling.

Sterling narrowed his eyes and said in a cold voice, "Starting tomorrow, James won't be around you anymore."
