Chapter 11

"Get your hands off me, you creep!" Caroline didn't know where the heck she got the strength, but she shoved Nathan away like a boss.

In the pitch black, there was a loud thud—probably Nathan crashing into something.

Caroline didn't give a damn about him right now. She bolted up and dashed out.

That shove was no joke. Nathan felt woozy for a sec before he snapped back to reality.

The bodyguards outside were caught off guard seeing Caroline sprint out and rushed over to check on her.

Nathan brushed the dust off his clothes. "It's nothing. Back to the set." He was itching to find out which gutsy chick had the nerve to push him.

Caroline ran out and bumped into Sarah, who was just coming back from talking to the receptionist. Sarah didn't say a word, just grabbed Caroline and headed to the audition spot.

Caroline didn't have time to explain, and the two of them hustled to the scene.

Nathan had left, and Roxanne had lost her mojo and was chilling. When she saw Caroline coming, Roxanne almost crushed the cup she was holding.

"I'm Demi, here to audition for the second female lead. Sorry for being late." Caroline was out of breath but managed to apologize to William.

William's eyes lit up when he saw her. Caroline had those delicate features, tons of charisma, and eyes that told a million stories. She was exactly what he was looking for!

He was about to say something when Roxanne's icy voice cut in from behind. "For such an important audition, she actually showed up late. How can an actress with no professionalism possibly perform well?"

William's face changed a bit. Roxanne wasn't someone he could afford to piss off, and Caroline was late. He immediately barked, "Are you that Demi?"

"What's there to discuss with her? Someone so unprofessional should just be kicked out!" Seeing Nathan return, Roxanne freaked and just wanted to get rid of Caroline ASAP.

"Yes, I had an unexpected incident that delayed my audition time. I apologize for the inconvenience and ask for another chance," Caroline said, sincere but keeping it cool and respectful.

Roxanne wanted to tear Caroline apart, but Nathan was already closing in.

She forced a smile and softened her tone, "Rules are rules. If everyone was as unprofessional as you, how could we shoot this film?"

Seeing Nathan arrive, the director also freaked out. "Ms. Campbell's right. Please leave."

Caroline felt wronged and wasn't about to back down.

She was about to speak when she saw Roxanne walk past her directly to Nathan, acting all sweet and clingy. "Honey, I don't want to act with an unprofessional woman. Can you make her leave, please?"

Nathan gave Roxanne a look and then locked eyes with Caroline.

Caroline was floored, her jaw practically hitting the floor, because Nathan had a face that looked eerily like Ryan and Sophie's.
