Chapter 4

Sarah was too busy playing with the kids to really notice Caroline. "Sure thing. I'll watch them."

Caroline chuckled and headed off to get the bags.

Five years ago, she had bailed from the hospital and found a girl in the restroom who looked kinda like her.

She gave the girl all her cash, swapped clothes, and had the girl throw Nolan and Lydia off her trail, letting her escape and have the kids.

She had been unsure back then, but now she was super grateful she kept the kids.

As Caroline walked away, Sophie saw her chance and slipped out while Sarah and Ryan were distracted.

Caroline never let Sophie have ice cream, and she had been dying for some. Finally, her moment had come.

Sophie bought an ice cream and was about to head back. Just then, there was a ruckus at the VIP passage, and people started yelling, "Roxanne is out!"

Surrounded by assistants and bodyguards, Roxanne strutted out of the VIP passage, her chin up high.

She had joined the cast of "Thunder" and hooked up with Nathan. Even though her acting was meh, her career was on fire, making her one of the hottest stars in Aurora City's entertainment scene.

Sophie got caught in the chaos and crouched by a pillar, shaking with fear.

"There's a kid over there, looks scared. Roxanne, go pick him up, and we'll have tomorrow's headlines," Bianca Stewart, Roxanne's slick manager, whispered.

"You know I can't stand kids," Roxanne said, looking disgusted.

Bianca didn't get mad and kept nudging her, "Thunder 2 is about to start filming, we need the buzz."

Roxanne then walked over to Sophie, her heart full of disgust but her face showing a sweet smile. "Don't be scared. I'll hold you."

The moment Roxanne picked up Sophie, she was stunned. Sophie's face looked weirdly familiar.
