Chapter 5
Leopold shot a look at Agnes; he knew it was her who had kissed him at the bar last time!
Leopold gave Ella's outfit a once-over. If a girl Agnes's age wore that, it would look totally outdated. When he picked out clothes for Ella earlier, he barely glanced at them. Once she put them on, he lost interest and didn't bother to check if they looked good.
Now that he took a closer look, Agnes was right. Ella's clothes did look kinda old-fashioned, and it did not suit her.
For a moment, everyone was staring at Leopold, but he just said, "Yeah," and nothing more.
Ella looked at the silent Leopold with a pout, wanting to say something but too scared to speak up.
Behind them, Leopold's assistant Kevin found Agnes looking more and more familiar. Finally, it clicked. He slapped his forehead and quickly approached Leopold, "Mr. Neville, this lady is your..."
But before he could finish, a loud voice cut him off, "Kevin, it's you!"
Before Kevin could react, Agnes pulled him aside.
Kevin had helped handle her and Leopold's marriage documents! Her dad, Henry Tudor, had taken her to meet Leopold several times to build their relationship, and it was always Kevin who received them.
Leopold must not have figured out who she was. Otherwise, after what happened last time and now suddenly showing up in front of him, he would definitely think she was trying to get his attention.
"Mrs. Neville," Kevin said.
"Kevin, we meet again!" Agnes ignored everyone's confused looks, cut him off, and dragged Kevin ten feet away.
Kevin stood there, looking at Agnes in confusion, "Mrs. Neville, what's going on? Mr. Neville hasn't met you yet; I need to tell him who you are!"
Agnes wanted to laugh at this moment. She and Leopold had been married for three years, and they still needed someone to introduce them to each other.
If it weren't for the fact that the marriage document really existed, Agnes would have thought she wasn't married and didn't know any multinational group president named Leopold.
Agnes leaned into his ear and whispered, "No need. Thanks, Kevin. I've already had Mr. Neville deliver the signed divorce papers to Robert, so there's no need for us to meet."
"Divorce papers? You want to divorce Mr. Neville?" Kevin stepped back in shock, looking at Agnes in disbelief. If he remembered correctly, Agnes was six or seven years younger than Leopold!
Was she out of her mind, actually wanting to divorce a rich guy like Leopold?
Agnes pinched the corner of her clothes and said embarrassedly, "Yeah, to avoid unnecessary misunderstandings, please keep this on the down-low for us."
When Kevin returned, Leopold had just finished paying for Ella.
Leopold's cold eyes lingered on Kevin's slightly dazed face for half a second, then swept over to Agnes, who was clinging to Justin's arm, and a mocking smile appeared on his lips.
She really wasn't a good woman.
Thinking about how he had been kissed by such a woman that day, Leopold's face darkened. "Kevin, I don't care what your deal with her is. Get her out of Sunrise International Shopping Mall right now! Someone like her doesn't deserve to be here!"
He didn't get a chance to deal with her last time, but he wasn't letting her off the hook this time!
Kevin snapped back to reality and followed Leopold's gaze.
Agnes was clinging to Justin's arm, acting all cutesy, "Justin, will you buy me that lipstick? I really want that lipstick. Look, her boyfriend bought it for her."
She was trying to channel her inner Grace Lopez from their school, acting all flirty.
Justin clutched his chest, looking at Agnes shaking his arm in despair, "Agnes, what happened to you? Don't freak me out!"
Was Agnes really acting all cutesy? Judging by everyone else's shocked faces, it was clear how unbelievable this was.
"Justin, I really like that lipstick. Please buy it for me!" Agnes's smile was already stiff. If Leopold didn't leave soon, she was gonna lose it.
To gain her freedom, Agnes forced herself to act all cutesy.
Agnes's thought process was this: she had once kissed Leopold and was now acting all cutesy with another guy. If one day Leopold found out her true identity and saw her as such an unfaithfulwoman, wouldn't the divorce go more smoothly?
"I'll buy it, I'll buy it." Justin would buy anything to stop Agnes from acting crazy.
With trembling hands, Justin grabbed all the lipsticks in front of him and handed them to the sales clerk, "Check out! Hurry." His heart couldn't take it anymore.
He would send Agnes to a mental hospital as soon as he finished paying!
Only Kevin probably knew that Agnes was acting. He quietly replied to Leopold, "But, Mr. Neville..."
"Kevin, Mr. Neville has already spoken. Why aren't you acting?" Ella interrupted Kevin, finally feeling relieved. She thought Leopold was kicking Agnes out because of her.
In Leopold's eyes, she was indeed different from other women.
"But Mr. Neville, she is..." The person he was about to kick out was the wife of the owner of Sunrise International Shopping Mall! Was Leopold sure he didn't want to reconsider?
A sharp look swept over him, and Kevin said no more. He immediately ordered the bodyguards behind him, "Quick, get them out!"
Agnes had been paying attention to the commotion over here. Hearing that they were going to be kicked out? Perfect, she didn't want to buy these things anyway!
"No need for you to bother, we're leaving right now!" Agnes immediately said, taking the lipsticks the sales clerk was about to check out and putting them back. She didn't forget to pull the nearest Justin and Clara and quickly left the store.
Leopold watched Agnes, his dark eyes flashing with doubt as she continued to act so strangely.
Ella glanced at Agnes's back a few more times before composing herself and taking Leopold's arm. She spoke softly, "Mr. Neville, I'm hungry. Can we go to the fifth floor of Alioth?"
Leopold gave a command, "Kevin, lead the way!"
Kevin shook off all his doubts and quickly walked ahead to lead the way.
At the entrance of Merak, Agnes suddenly stopped and looked at Justin, "Justin, did you just say you wanted to go to the fifth floor of Alioth?"
Justin immediately took a step back, "Agnes, let's talk this out. I've spent all my pocket money on games; I can't afford to treat you!"
"I'll treat you to dinner on the fifth floor of Alioth!" Agnes said.
