Chapter 5 Ceremony
Leah's POV
"You are the famous hybrid!! What do you want with me?" I asked, my mind racing with different thoughts.
He didn't reply to me, his face was blank and he felt withdrawn. But I was drop-dead terrified, my eyes were bulging, and my hands slightly trembling.
Every word that I have heard about the terrifying and ruthless man ran through my mind, I heard he killed his mother after he was birthed, and was rejected by his father, the Alpha of the Shadowfell Pack.
He disappeared for years and came back super rich, but he still wasn't accepted in society, so he formed his pack with the few wolves loyal to him and called it the Darkwater Pack.
People say he drains the life out of his victim by sucking their blood, I also heard that he can't be killed and that's why the Order couldn't do anything about his existence.
I remembered the warnings my dad gave me concerning him. Another thing I remember clearly is the hate in his voice when he speaks about the hybrid, the existing knowledge that the hybrid is my dad's sworn enemy.
He was always reminding whoever was around and listening of how the hybrid was an abomination, a disorder in the different realms of the word.
And the rumors about him were always deadly and terrifying, tales of deeds so morbid it made me shiver to remember them.
No wonder Aiden was scared out of his hide when he was dealing with him.
I, too, am scared out of my hide sitting so close to him. I moved away from him, to the edge of the seat, and stayed still, hoping I didn't annoy him by moving too much.
I felt him turn to look at me before turning away but I still didn't turn to look at him. I was focused on not peeing myself, out of fear, before we reached our destination.
The car slowed down when it got close to a gate and after a few seconds of the driver communicating with one of the security guards standing at the gate, we drove in.
The moment we drove into his estate my fear was overshadowed by admiration. God, this place was beautiful. This is close to heaven, if not it.
Every building was a piece of art, everything screams money. I can't believe it, I feel oppressed by buildings and I have never known poverty.
Another thought ran through my mind and I sneaked a peek at the man sitting at the other side. It is a well-known fact that the hybrid was stinkingly rich and that he turned a drafty, no man's land into a place worthy of gods.
Still being overwhelmingly amazed, I didn't notice the car stopping until he spoke. I have heard him speak before, no one would say he was kind but the tone he used now was chilling.
It embodies the story of a cold ruthless man and I turned stiff. "They would attend to you," he said before leaving the car and all I could do was nod slowly.
But wait! Who the fuck is they? And how would they 'attend' to me?
I wondered until the doors of the car opened up.
Young ladies were standing at both sides of the car and one of them stretched forth their hands and I dumbfoundedly took her hands and got out of the car.
Counting them, I noticed there were ten ladies, wait, one of them looked older, so it was nine ladies and one older woman and she was the only one not in uniform.
"Ma'am, we are here to serve you," the older woman spoke up, causing me to flick my eyebrow upwards in confusion.
Serve me? Who are these ladies? And why was I being treated like a queen? What's going on?
The confusion started clearing, giving space for apprehension, "What is going on?" my thoughts were interrupted by a brisk voice.
"Please, follow the girls, they will direct you to your room," the older woman said, hands stretched forth, with the other girls already standing by, looking ready to go.
"Ok ma'am," I said, but she cut me off, correcting me.
"Please call me Nana, everyone calls me that."
Nana? Is that like his grandmother? I thought before taking another girl's hands and following her.
