Chapter 3 Have You Fallen for That Girl?

James had never seen a girl stand up to Alexander like that before, so he couldn't help but do a double-take in the rearview mirror.

Allison was gutsy. Did she even know who she was sitting next to?

"Alexander Cater, from Skycrest. I'm here to thank you for saving my life!" Alexander handed her a business card.

Allison took it and tossed it into her backpack without even glancing at it.

James couldn't resist asking, "Ms. Bennett, do you know anything about medicine?"

He found it hard to believe an eighteen-year-old could pull off surgery like that.

Allison shook her head. "Nope, my neighbor's a vet, and I help out sometimes."

So, Alexander was like a stray cat or dog to her? James shivered at the thought.

Alexander stared at Allison but kept his cool. "Do vets need to know how to remove bullets?"

Allison shook her head again. "No, but you were in bad shape last night. If I didn't take it out, you might've died. So, I just went for it."

'Using a human life as a test run, this girl is something else,' James thought.

"If there's nothing else, can I go? Please pull over at the next intersection," Allison said to the driver.

The driver looked at Alexander for approval. Seeing him nod, he finally stopped the car.

Alexander then asked, "Ms. Bennett, is there really nothing I can do for you? Just say the word, and I'll make it happen!"

Allison waved him off. "No need, I'll handle my own stuff!"

She got out of the car without a second thought, leaving James a bit impressed. "Ms. Bennett is really something!"

James asked, "Mr. Carter, is Ms. Bennett for real?"

Alexander watched Allison walk away and smirked. "What do you think?"

Such an interesting girl, Alexander had never met anyone like her before. Seeing the smile on his face, James was freaked out.

In shock, he asked, "Mr. Carter, you don't like that girl, do you? She's only eighteen."

Alexander caught the hint in James's words and shot him a cold look. "Is that your business?"

James shut up.

The next day, as soon as Allison got to school, a classmate told her the vice principal had been looking for her and she needed to go to the office ASAP.

"Allison, what did you do? The vice principal looks really pissed!"

Despite rumors that Allison was a troublemaker, she was always well-behaved in class. Apart from napping during lessons, she never caused any trouble. Plus, their class was the worst in the whole school. Napping during class was normal, and the teachers didn't care.

"It's nothing, I'll find out when I get there!" Allison dropped her backpack in the classroom and headed straight to the office.

In the vice principal's office, Vice Principal Elliot Sullivan looked at Allison with a stern face. He questioned, "Allison, what's going on? Why did you get into a fight? I don't care about your bad rep outside, but now you've fought with Mr. Morgan's son and sent him to the hospital. Mr. Morgan came to the school himself. What do you think we should do about this?"

Elliot looked at Allison with disappointment, regretting ever taking her in. Then he added, "I've already notified your parents. This incident has disrupted the school's normal order. Fighting is a serious offense, and our school can't keep you. Have your parents handle the transfer procedures."

Allison kept her head down and didn't argue. 'Wha's there to argue about?' she sneered inwardly.

Soon, a woman in high heels rushed in, looking frazzled. "Mr. Sullivan, what happened? Did Allison get into trouble again?"

Blair Ember, Allison's mom, didn't even bother to find out what happened. She just assumed Allison was at fault.

Allison stayed quiet, not reacting to Blair's assumption.

"We can't keep a student like Allison here. You need to arrange for her transfer immediately! She beat up Mr. Morgan's son, and he's still in the hospital. This has nothing to do with the school; you need to handle it yourselves! I'm really kicking myself for ever bringing her in!" Elliot said, looking both heartbroken and regretful, which made Blair even more anxious.

"Mr. Sullivan, Allison is still young. She surely didn't do it on purpose. Can't we give her one more shot? Where else could she go at this point? If she's kicked out of Maplewood High, no other school will take her!" Blair was desperate.

Elliot shook his head. "We really can't help with this. Mr. Morgan is demanding an explanation, so we have to have Allison transfer. Otherwise, we can't account for this!"

Blair stormed out of the office, and as soon as she stepped outside, she turned and slapped Allison. "Allison, how much more trouble are you going to cause me?"

The slap left a mark on Allison's face. She looked up at Blair, her eyes growing colder as she said, "Mrs. Bennett, I was kicked out of the Bennett Family long ago. My life or death has nothing to do with the Bennett Family!"

"You!" Blair was trembling with rage, looking like she wanted to strangle Allison.

Allison sneered. Five years ago, the Bennett Family had kicked her out. From the moment they chose to believe her sister, Yasmin Bennett, Allison was no longer their daughter.

"Allison, don't you feel any guilt saying that? I'm your mother. You've done such disgraceful things, causing chaos in the family. Do you know you've brought shame upon the entire Bennett Family in Skycrest? You've really disappointed me!"

Blair, her biological mother, hadn't even asked for the truth and had immediately assumed it was all Allison's fault. She had never believed in her own daughter.

Thinking of this, Allison curled her lips in a mocking smile, remarking, "If I've brought so much shame to the Bennett Family, why do you bother with me? Mrs. Bennett, have you forgotten that I have nothing to do with the Bennett Family anymore? From now on, my affairs have nothing to do with the Bennett Family. Please, Mrs. Bennett, mind your own business and don't appear in front of me or meddle in my life under the guise of being my parent!"

With that, Allison grabbed her backpack from the classroom and left.

Blair watched her walk away, feeling a mix of anger and helplessness. After all, she was her daughter. Could she really not care?

Moreover, Allison's grandfather, Hayden Bennett, was about to return. If he found out they had left Allison in Avalon City and let things get to this point, who knew what would happen.

Allison was Hayden's most beloved granddaughter. How could they explain this to him?

Meanwhile, Alexander quickly got news about Allison.

"Mr. Carter, Ms. Bennett has been expelled from school," James reported.

James also shared another piece of information with Alexander. "Ms. Bennett is the youngest daughter of the Bennett Family from Skycrest, the one who was kicked out."

The Bennett Family from Skycrest?

"Jasper Bennett's younger sister?" In Skycrest, the Bennett Family was somewhat known, though not part of the elite circles. But Alexander knew of Jasper.

James nodded and continued, "Yeah, that's him. I heard that Ms. Bennett caused quite a stir back then. In middle school, she lived with a delinquent and even had an abortion."
