♥ Chapter 2♥

Yara Blake.

13:00 '' Company. '' Eldoria.

Friday.

I enter the building and am immediately enveloped by the grandeur of the place. The hall is vast, with shiny marble floors that look like they've never been walked on. Huge chandeliers hang from the ceiling, spreading a soft light that reflects off every surface, giving the room a feeling of absolute refinement. The walls are decorated with modern works of art, and everything around me exudes luxury and sophistication, something I've never seen before.

I feel uncomfortable. I look down at my simple clothes, which, although clean and well put together, seem out of place in the midst of so much luxury. Furthermore, I take a deep breath, trying to shake off the nervousness that is beginning to consume me. I can't let it get to me now. I need to stay focused.

Likewise, I walk to reception, where an elegant woman is sitting behind a glass counter. She smiles professionally as she sees my approach.

“Good morning. What can I do for you?” she asks, her voice soft and polite.

''Good morning.'' I reply, trying to sound more confident than I really am. ''I… I've come for an interview. My name is Yara Blake.'' I say, trying to keep my voice steady.

The receptionist types my name into the computer and, after a few seconds, agrees with a slight nod.

'' Of course, Mrs. Blake. Here's your visitor's badge. '' she says, handing me a small card with a ribbon that I put around my neck. ''The interview will be on the twentieth floor. You can go to the elevator on your right.

I thank her again, feeling a mixture of relief and anxiety, and head in the direction indicated. As I enter the elevator, I press the button for the twentieth floor and take a deep breath, trying to calm my heart, which seems to want to jump out of my chest. The elevator begins to rise, and the feeling of nervousness only increases.

When the doors open on the twentieth floor, I am faced with an elegant, modern lounge where several women are sitting or standing, all dressed in luxurious, stylish clothes. They chat amongst themselves, seeming completely at ease, while I feel even more out of place in my simple clothes.

My stomach churns with anxiety. I feel like all eyes are on me, although no one seems to be really paying attention. I take another deep breath. Furthermore, I need to concentrate and do my best.

I see a sofa with an empty space, and, with great trepidation, I walk over to it. I sit down slowly, trying not to attract attention, but I soon notice some curious glances in my direction. Elegant women, with their expensive clothes and impeccable make-up, are watching me. Some whisper amongst themselves and laugh softly, clearly judging me for my simplicity.

I lower my head, feeling completely out of place. Every laugh and every look makes me feel even smaller. But I need to be firm to remember why I'm here. This opportunity could be my chance to free myself, at least a little, from the prison my husband has turned my life into.

I close my eyes for a moment and take a deep breath. It doesn't matter what these women think of me. I have to take this chance, whatever it takes.

As I wait, I try to ignore the laughter and stares I still feel when the door to the interview room opens. A woman comes out, her face pale and her eyes watery, looking like she's about to cry. She walks past me quickly, and soon after, an elegant woman, who I deduce is the secretary, appears in the doorway.

She looks around, examining all the candidates with a critical eye. When her eyes stop on mine, I feel my heart race.

''You're next, come on.'' she says, her voice firm but not hostile.

I stand up quickly, feeling the other women's looks of anger and envy at me. I try to ignore them and follow the secretary to the interview room. When I reach the door, she stops and opens it for me, gesturing for me to enter.

''Good luck. '' She says with a slight smile before leaving me alone.

I take a deep breath and step forward, ready to face whatever comes.

As soon as I enter the room, I feel my legs tremble at the sight of the three men sitting at the table. They are not only elegant, but incredibly beautiful. My heart races, and the insecurity I felt before now feels like an avalanche about to crush me.

'' Welcome. Have a seat. '' says one of the men in a firm but welcoming voice.

I take a deep breath and, with all the effort I can muster, walk over to the chair facing them. As I sit down, I keep my hands in my lap, trying to hide my nervousness.

The man who spoke to me, sitting in the center, leans forward slightly.

''My name is Magnus.'' he introduces himself, with a slight smile on his lips. ''These are my brothers, Kael and Damien. They will be present during the interview.

Magnus is imposing, with well-combed black hair and intense brown eyes that seem to observe every detail. His expression is serious, but there is something warm in his gaze, as if he were able to read my mind.

Kael, sitting to Magnus' right, has a more relaxed posture. His hair is a little longer, falling nonchalantly over his forehead. His brown eyes have a mischievous twinkle, as if he's having fun with the situation, but there's also an underlying seriousness that makes me not want to underestimate him.

Damien, on the left, is the quietest of the three. His features are striking, with a strong jaw and piercing eyes. He maintains a rigid, almost-cold posture, but it's impossible not to notice the natural charm that emanates from him.

I feel small in front of them, but I know I have to keep my composure. I try to control my breathing as I wait for the interview to begin, hoping that my nerves won't betray me.
