Chapter 14 What Can You Do to Me?

Emily was young and gorgeous, the kind of woman you would think you could mess with at first glance.

But right now, she was sitting in that chair, arms crossed, chin up, radiating an aura that screamed, "Don't even try."

Daniel pushed his way through the crowd, his face dark.

"It was just a joke," he muttered, sounding like he didn't even believe himself. "I didn't mean it seriously."

"Not serious?" Emily let out a cold laugh. "Now that I've won, it's suddenly not serious? If I hadn't saved Mr. Miller and lost the bet, would you still be saying it was just a joke?"

Daniel was at a loss for words, and so was everyone else around.

Everyone knew that if Emily had lost, Daniel would have made sure she kept her end of the deal.

Daniel had made the bet because he was sure she would lose. He wanted to take Emily home and treat her like a toy, letting his buddies join in too.

Sure, she was a Johnson family socialite, but she made the bet in public. A bet's a bet. Even if he and his friends had their way with her, the Johnson family couldn't do much about it.

After all, Emily agreed to it, and everyone saw it.

That was the logic, but now Emily won, and Daniel lost. No way was he going to admit to any of it.

"Of course. You're a Johnson family socialite. Even if you lost, I wouldn't make you strip. It was just a joke. A joke," Daniel said.

Emily laughed, then her face turned icy, her voice even colder. "But I don't joke around. If someone promises me something, they should keep their word. If they can't, they need to make it right."

"Emily, don't push it!" Daniel snapped, seeing she wouldn't back down. "I was just joking. Do you have to be so petty? No wonder Mr. Smith doesn't like you. I don't like women like you either."

Emily suddenly stood up.

Daniel stumbled back, fear gripping him, while everyone else felt a chill run down their spines.

Right then, Emily looked like she was ready to kill someone.

Emily's initial goal was to make Daniel keep his promise, not just to get back at him for his past actions, but to show her strength and integrity. She wanted to prove herself and shut up those who badmouthed her.

But when Daniel brought up James, her long-simmering anger flared up. "James doesn't like me, and I don't like him either. As a Johnson family heiress, do I need a man like James to validate me? And you, are you sure you won't keep your promise?"

Emily's cold, sharp gaze swept over him, sending a shiver down Daniel's spine.

Daniel was actually scared. Emily seemed like someone he shouldn't mess with.

Despite his fear, he had to maintain his composure in front of everyone.

"I just won't admit it. What can you do to me?!" Daniel said, raising his chin defiantly.

He had no intention of keeping the bet. What could Emily, just a woman, do to him?

Emily smiled and reached out her hand.

A quick-thinking waiter immediately handed her a glass of red wine.

Emily picked up the wine glass, gave it a little swirl, and took a sip.

She was already drop-dead gorgeous, but with her red lips stained by the wine, she looked even more irresistible, like someone you would want to take a bite out of.

Seeing this, Daniel's fear started to fade, replaced by a bit of lust. "What, if I don't keep my promise, you're just gonna drink wine? If that's the case, I can drink with you. Drink as much as you want."

As he spoke, he reached out his thick hand towards Emily.

She smiled, then abruptly smashed the wine glass against the armrest, shattering it with a sharp crack.

Emily held the remaining stem, admiring the sharp edges, and looked at Daniel with a big smile. "You know I'm a doctor, right? As a doctor, I not only know how to save people, but I also know how to hurt them. I can use this broken glass to stab you hundreds of times in the most painful places, making you wish you were dead but unable to die. When the doctor examines you, the result will only be minor injuries. Wanna try?"

Seeing the broken glass in Emily's hand and hearing her words, Daniel immediately pulled back his hand and started trembling.

From Emily's performance just now, he believed she could do it.

And minor injuries meant that even if he called the cops, there was no way to put Emily in jail. She would just have to pay him some money.

The Johnsons were loaded, and paying compensation was just a formality for Emily.

"It seems you really want to try. Alright, I'll grant your wish." Seeing that Daniel still didn't move, Emily took a step forward.

Daniel immediately dropped to his knees, looking at Emily in fear. "No, no, please don't. I'll keep my promise. I'll strip right now."

Daniel didn't care about his dignity anymore. As long as he could stay alive, anything was fine.

This time, without Emily saying anything, Daniel got up from the ground and started to twist his fat body while unbuttoning his suit.

The suit was quickly taken off, followed by the shirt.

When Daniel's trembling fingers reached for the waistband of his pants, Emily raised her hand. "Stop. That's enough. Your dancing is so ugly that I'm afraid everyone will throw up what they ate tonight."

Emily's words were a complete humiliation, but Daniel didn't dare oppose her anymore. He just bent over and flattered her, "Thank you. You're really a good person."

Emily couldn't help but laugh again. No one said she was a good person when she was saving lives, but now that she was about to hurt him, someone did.

This world was really ridiculous.

She ignored Daniel and looked around at the people. When they all avoided her gaze and lowered their heads, she spoke, "When I was in school, I never failed an exam. In the hospital, I never made a mistake with a patient's will. If you don't know something clearly, don't talk about it. Even if you want to talk, do it privately. Don't let me hear it from anyone, or else."

Emily paused and took a step forward, causing some timid people to retreat in fear and stumble into others.

"I will personally settle the score with you!"

After saying that, Emily threw away the broken glass in her hand and walked out of the banquet hall.
