Re-encounter

After ending the call with the lawyer. Bruce decided to drop his phone with a satisfactory smile on his face. With what he planned, he was sure that Alexia was not going to refuse him because this was a time when she needed that kind of help the most.

The buzzing sound of the alarm in Bruce's room was enough to wake him up.

He stood up from the bed and briskly walked into the bathroom, he had a long day ahead.

After having his shower, Bruce got out of the bathroom with a towel tied around his waist. After getting dressed in one of his finest suits, he combed his hair before leaving the room with one of his finest suits.

"Good morning baby, I've packed your lunch..." Bruce immediately raised his hand, cutting Sonita off, signaling that he won't be needing it.

As he stepped out of his mansion, his eyes fell on Ken, standing beside his car.

"I'm here with the proposal, just like you said, sir,," Ken said and stretched his hand forward to give it to him.

He took his phone out of his pocket after collecting the proposal and dialed Austin's number, "hello, Austin, I need you to handle all the meetings that I have today," He said before ending the call without waiting for a response from Austin,

"Let's move," Bruce said and got into the car with the lawyer.

As the driver drove, he got to the address that Austin had given them before, and he immediately caught sight of Rhoda and Rita, the both of them were sitting outside the building all alone.

He stopped the car right in front of them and stepped down from the car before walking towards where the girls sat.

As he got close to them, they noticed his towering presence and immediately shifted their gaze away from the ground,

"Look Rita, it's the stranger that we meet at the tea shop," Rhoda said. Her eyes were both bright and she was no longer sulking. It felt like the moment she caught sight of him, she was elated.

She stood to her little feet and so did Rita before the moment she caught sight of him.

They were both hesitant at first, considering the warning that their mother gave them but the moment Bruce spread his arms widely, they hurried to where he stood and embraced him.

"Look at the both of you, what were you doing sitting all alone?" Bruce asked. With the look on their face, Bruce could tell that they had barely eaten anything.

"We are waiting for our mommy," The both of them said in unison,

"With your things packed outside?" Bruce inquired,

"Our mommy said that she wants to gather things for camping for us while they renovate the building," Rhoda said, causing Bruce to pause for a moment. Her response was stunning and for a moment he didn't know how to respond,

Alexis had lied to them about the house. She didn't want them to worry and she wanted to take the burden herself.

Bruce chuckled softly and said, "I was heading to a restaurant when I caught sight of the both of you, why don't you join me and we have to eat and come back to wait for your mommy,"

Both of them shook their heads without giving it a thought.

"Please, I don't want my mommy to get angry with me and my sister; we will wait here for her," Rhoda said, and Rita nodded her head in agreement.

"Ouch, I thought we agreed to be friends," Bruce said causing the girls to turn and gaze at themselves before shifting their gaze back to Bruce,

"Yes, but our mommy will get worried once she gets back and doesn't see us," Rita said, and Bruce immediately squatted. He sighed softly and tapped their shoulders one after the other before saying,

"We're not going to take long. Just come with me, and trust me, we'll be back before your mommy knows it," He said.

"Okay," Rhoda and Rita agreed. They got into the car, and we marveled at the interior of the Maybach.

Rhoda and Rita couldn't stop gawking. This was their first time getting into a car like this.

"Is this a mini house? It had almost everything in it," Rita said, causing Bruce to chuckle softly.

He shook his head and said, "This is my car,"

The girls didn't utter a single word, they couldn't stop touching until the car finally stopped in front of a fancy restaurant.

"Woah!" Rita muttered as she got out of the car. This was her first time even stopping at her place like this. They mostly eat leftovers or go to shops that sell cheaper food.

Bruce carried Rita and held Rhoda's hand as he took them inside the restaurant. He walked towards a table with four chairs and sat on it.

Ken sat down close to one of the girls and they all made their order.

"Won't you finish your food?," Rita asked, noticing that Ken had eaten his food halfway and was wiping the oil off his mouth,

"I'm full dear," Ken said causing the both of them to open their mouth in shook,

"What do you want to do with the rest of the food? You're planning to take it with you right?" Rhoda asked but Ken shook his head before saying in a low voice,

"No dear, I'm leaving it here and the waiter will come and take it away," Ken said and the girls didn't fail to show the surprised look on their faces,

"My mom said it is a sin to waste food. Many people don't even have a slice of bread to eat for breakfast or even for lunch," Rhoda said,

"Yes, the food on your plate is enough to feed someone," Rita added, causing Ken to smile warmly.

He was surprised, little girls like them already knew the importance of conserving food.

"They're smart kids Bruce," Ken said and Bruce nodded his head in response before swallowing the food in his mouth,

"Yes, so you better finish that food, Ken," Bruce joked, and the both of them burst out laughing.

They finished at the restaurant and Bruce cleared the bills before they headed to the car.

The driver headed back to the house, and they immediately caught sight of Alexia looking for her kids. The kids got out of the car and hurried to where their mom stood.

"Mommy, mommy," They yelled in chorus, trying to grab her attention. She was looking disoriented and didn't know what to do as she didn't find the kids where she left them. The moment she heard them screaming her name, she turned to where the voice was coming from and she caught sight of her kids.

"Rhoda, Rita!" She yelled back and opened her arms. They ran towards her and hugged her tightly.

"Where have you girls been? You scared me!" She said and pulled away from them before pointing her finger at them,

"The both of you should not try something like this again, do you want to kill me before my time?" She asked in a rage but the both of them shook their head before saying in a low voice,

"We're sorry, Mom, but you remember the friend we told you about yesterday?" Rhoda asked and Alexia nodded her head in response.

"What about him? Don't tell me you went out looking for him!"

"No, Mom, look..." Rhoda said and pointed in front of her. All this while, Alexia was so concerned about their well-being that she didn't even notice that someone was standing a few feet in front of her.

She quickly lifted her gaze from her kids to where Rhoda pointed and her eyes fell on Bruce,

"Bruce Robin," She whispered.

"Mom, do you know him," Rhoda and Rita asked in unison,

"Something like that," Alexia said. She didn't fail to hide the displeased look she had on her face,

"What are you doing here?" She asked but Bruce didn't respond, instead, he turned to face the kids and said,

"She's your mom? Wow,"

"Don't try and play games, Bruce, what are you doing here?" She asked again but still got no response.

"Mom, why are you talking to our friend like that, you're scaring him," Rhoda said.

"I'm sorry girls but can you please excuse me and your new friend for a moment," Alexia said and took Bruce's hand before walking away from where they stood to the back of his car,

"What is the meaning of this? After all these years you suddenly decide to show up?" She asked in a rage,

"Alexia, calm down. I want to help you but I can leave if you want me to," He said.

"I want you to leave," Alexia said sternly.

"Girls, your mom said that you guys can come camping in my home," Bruce suddenly announced with a smug smile on his face
