Banished

Shyla's P.O.V.

“Banished?”

My whole world crumbled down around me as those words were like rumbling volcanoes, their fiery lava burned my whole existence. I gawked at my cheating husband in disbelief, how could he kick me out of my homeland?

“You can’t do this to me, Raymond!"

I tried to convince him to let me stay in a corner of his pack; however, that announcement was the tip of the iceberg.

The real deal was worse than this.

Raymond’s lawyers brought divorce deed and forced me to put my thumb impressions, finalizing the papers without my consent. He threw a dirty glance at me and commanded,

“You have ten minutes. Gather your clothes and leave the hell out of my land!”

Alpha Raymond looked at his Luna for proper recognition, her smile as fresh as a Daisy gladdened him. At that moment, I realized that the person I fell in love with was dead. Only Ayleen’s mate was standing there, moving heaven and earth to cheer her up.

So, I silently cried when guards escorted me back to his room in the mansion, where countless memories of our sweet time were scattered to haunt me.

“I’ll spend my whole life with you, Shyla”

“You are my sunshine, only you can understand my heart, Shyla.”

I rubbed my eyes mercilessly while cursing myself, my wishful thinking had shown me this day. Raymond was right, a slave bought for seventy bucks couldn’t be a Luna of a prestigious pack.

Just like the day of my sale, I hardened my heart and changed into jeans and a T-shirt. Some pairs of clothes with some spare cash were enough price for serving as a bed warmer for the Alpha. And for certificates, I was illiterate according to the modern world, as omegas were trained to serve Alphas and work as servants.

Raymond had taught me a lot in secret and supported my dream of education, but I had no proof of it.

“How will I survive outside?”

This issue was going to be a problem later, so I focused on leaving this pack first. Picking up my bag, I glanced at my room for the last year. A whimper escaped my mouth as a part of my soul was torn away from me, I cursed him at the height of pain,

“You’ll never live happily after ruining my life, Alpha!”

...

The full moon was shining in the sky when I came out of the mansion and went to bid farewell to Dr. Hailey, the only kind lady who took pity on omegas. The passerby, vendors, and women peeking through windows witnessed my walk of shame on the way, laughing at the fate of their Alpha's plaything.

"An omega slave and dreams of Alpha Raymond? What a joke!"

"Finally, Alpha has shown this mutt her place!"

Every word of mockery was like an arrow laced with venon, paralyzing my body with pain. My head was lowered in shame in the pack where I was used to walk with my head held high with pride.

Dragging my limp body, I reached the hospital, my Aunt was working in her office.

“I am banished from the pack, Aunt.”

Aunt Hailey pulled me into her calming embrace, shattering my brave facade in a split second. I hugged her tightly and cried my heart out.

“Raymond broke his promises, he is also like other men.”

She drew soothing circles on my back, her teary voice was laden with regret.

“Please forgive your aunt, Shyla. I am the reason behind your eviction.”

Supporting me in the chair in her room, she handed me a white envelope with trembling hands.

“This was my gift for your Luna accession, but now I think that your blood reports could save your relationship.

I destroyed your life, Shyla. The Moon Goddess will never forgive me.”

For the last month, I was feeling nauseous and dizzy all the time, my stomach flu wasn't healing on its own. So aunt Hailey did me check up and orderes complete blood work.

But now, her words about reports were ambiguous, sinking my heart. I tore the envelope and read that report,

“Pregnancy test: Positive."

This unanticipated According to this report, I was ten weeks pregnant with Raymond’s child, the one who humiliated me as an infertile woman in front of the entire pack.

What an irony!

This unanticipated news brewed an emotional turmoil in my chest, rendering me speechless. My heart raced like a galloping horse in my chest, I didn’t know whether to scream or laugh at this revelation.

However, Aunt Hailey was unfazed by my shock, she suggested.

“What about showing this report to Alpha Raymond and asking for mercy? He will reconsider his decision for his heir.”

What?

No!

A wave of sheer panic washed over me as fright enveloped my quivering figure, the possible scenarios of my grim future terrorized me to the core.

How could I even think about a miracle when Raymond had shown his blind support for his fated mate? He wouldn't even hesitate to kill my child to make her happy.

After all, he could have ten sons with his fated Luna!

Before I could raise my concerns, Aunt Hailey’s son, Warrior Allen, barged into her office.

“Thank Goddess you are here, Shyl. Alpha is searching you like crazy.”

A ray of hope emerged in my heart and was instantly crushed by Allen, he was breathless with anger.

“Luna Ayleen has reported that you stole the pack’s defense strategy as revenge. He has announced your public execution, Shyl.”

I clutched my chest as my horrified gaze fell at my aunt, she was gaped in disbelief.

“Alpha has lost it, Allen. We must save Shyla at any cost. Distract the patrol teams and take her to the nearest bus stop. Be quick.”

Without giving any heads-up, Allen picked me up and dashed out in the direction of the south border, where he oversaw security. So, crossing that border was child’s play for him.

Allen dropped me at the bus stop and advised me,

“Try to live well, Shyl. Don’t let this incident ruin your life.”

...

It was so long after Allen’s departure, but still, there were no signs of any approaching bus. My heart was thundering in my chest, my hand spread over my belly protectively.

This only ray of hope in impenetrable darkness had given me the strength to move forward in such a short time.

“I will take great care of you, my child. No one will dare to harm you.”

Although this newfound blessing was fueling my courage, it felt like Raymond’s Alpha wolf would materialize out of thin air and...

I was lost in my terrifying imagination when suddenly, the floodlights of a car caught my sight.

This was my chance!

Standing in the middle of the road, I waved my arms for lift. However, the driver didn’t slow down, adamant to crush me. As dying by Alpha’s hands was more insulting than a car accident, I challenged him,

“Bring it on, dude. I am as stubborn as a mule.”

I kept staring at the car until the last moment, the screech of tires and the smell of burnt rubber filled my nose before it came to a grating stop.

The driver came out immediately and yelled at me.

“Do you have a death wish, omega?”

I held my bag closer to my chest and replied shakily.

“No. I just want to get a lift to the train station.”

All praise for my luck, countless luxury cars identical to the first one also stopped, it seemed like Alpha’s security protocol.

Shoot!

“You have offended another Alpha. Salute for your progress, Shyla.”

I congratulated myself for my stupidity and stepped back in fear, as a tall, beast-like Alpha stepped out of his car.

His 1.96 m body towered over my 1.6 m frame easily; the red scar on his left eye was the most prominent feature on his dashing face. He was handsome like Greek gods, even he looked breath-taking while sniffing the air around me.

Alpha clutched my arm in his claw, his low deterred growl sent my heart into frenzy. His voice was rough and cold, but the authority in his Alpha tone buckled my knees. He leaned in, and said,

“Erasthai!”
