Chapter 12 Rectification

Isabella's eyes went wide when she saw Jerry. "Jerry? What are you doing here?" she asked, wiping the sweat off her forehead.

Jerry replied, "Ms. Harris, I'm your new secretary. Mr. Harris set it up."

Isabella was taken aback for a second but quickly got it. She laughed, gave Jerry a pat on the shoulder, and said, "With you on board, things are gonna run a lot smoother."

Later, Isabella headed over to check out the Sapphire Sky Hotel. As she walked into the lobby, she scanned the place like a hawk. She greeted employees from different departments, asking about how things were going.

She went up to the front desk, saw the staff handling check-ins like pros, and smiled. Then she checked out the restaurant, guest rooms, and other spots. At each place, she made sure everything was running smoothly.

Jerry was right behind her the whole time, jotting down notes in a little notebook whenever Isabella pointed something out or noticed a problem.

Isabella glanced at Jerry's notebook, packed with notes, and felt pretty good about his work ethic. "Jerry, you're doing a great job. Looks like Samuel sent me a real pro," Isabella said with a smile.

Jerry scratched his head, a bit embarrassed, and said, "Ms. Harris, this is just my duty."

After making the rounds, Isabella felt more at ease. She knew this hotel was her current gig and a big part of her new life. She wanted to make it better and better, just like her life now.

Isabella sat in her office, her brows furrowed. In front of her was a stack of documents, all problems she'd found while digging into the hotel's affairs.

The biggest issue was embezzlement, and the culprit was Brian, the deputy general manager of the Sapphire Sky Hotel.

Brian had been secretly working with VirtualHome Creations, doing shady stuff. Regarding the hotel bedding, the quality had dropped, and guests had begun to complain.. Following the trail, it turned out Brian was behind it.

Brian, to take bribes from VirtualHome Creations, brought in those crappy beddings, which made Isabella furious. So, Isabella called Brian into her office.

As soon as Brian walked in, he felt the tension, like the calm before a storm. Isabella didn't waste any time. "Brian, look at these." She picked up a financial report, pointing at the glaring discrepancies. "How do you explain these financial issues? And this," she said, holding up an anonymous tip, "clearly states everything. What's going on between you and VirtualHome Creations?"

Brian wanted to argue, but one look at the tip letter made him nervous, his face going pale. He knew he was probably screwed this time.

But Brian wasn't the type to admit his mistakes easily; he was full of resentment. In his mind, after busting his butt at the hotel for so many years, Isabella had no sympathy and exposed his issues, making him look pathetic in front of her.

He thought, 'Isabella, you think you can just crush me like this? You're too naive. I'll remember this humiliation, and one day, you'll pay.'

"Ms. Harris, I messed up." Brian's voice trembled. "I was out of my mind, just thinking about making more money, so I did something stupid. Please, Ms. Harris, forgive me this time."

Isabella looked at Brian in his pathetic state, feeling both angry and resentful. What Brian did should have landed him in court, facing real consequences.

But Isabella knew that if she took Brian to court, it would be impossible to keep this under wraps. Other senior staff might think she was too harsh, leading to rebellion, which would be bad for hotel management. Plus, Brian had been at the hotel for years and had built some connections.

Taking a deep breath, Isabella said, "Brian, what you did was despicable. I wanted to send you straight to jail, but considering your long service, I'll give you one more chance."

Brian, hearing that Isabella didn't plan to take him to court, felt like a drowning man grabbing a lifeline. He quickly nodded, saying, "Thank you, Ms. Harris. I will definitely repent and never do such a thing again."

But Isabella never expected Brian to truly repent. She turned to Jerry, who was standing nearby, and whispered, "Keep a close eye on Brian. I don't trust him at all. Especially make sure he doesn't have any improper contact with Terry. If he causes any more problems, I won't let him off so easily."

Jerry nodded seriously, saying, "Ms. Harris, don't worry. I'll keep a constant watch on him and won't let him cause any more trouble."

Isabella looked at Jerry and nodded in satisfaction. She knew that handling internal corporate issues was like walking a tightrope, requiring extreme caution. She had to teach Brian a lesson without making a big scene, ensuring the hotel's stability and growth.

After leaving Isabella's office, Brian's humble expression vanished, replaced by a look of malice. As he walked, he thought, 'Isabella, you humiliated me today and expect me to be grateful? No way! Just wait, I'll make you regret what you did today!'
