Chapter 4

"Rhiannon, is that you?" the person from the other side said in disbelief.

"Nanny, it's me," Rhiannon said with a smile and her eyes were so calm.

"How, didn't you die in the fire?" Mary asked.

"I managed to escape," she said and her eyes turned cold making the atmosphere in the room so terrifying.

"How? How did you? The fire...." Mary wanted to ask but she couldn't finish her words because just the thought itself made her start crying again.

"They wanted to kill me. Don't tell anyone that I am alive yet," she said in a cold voice.

On the other side, when Mary had a terrifying tone, she was shocked to the core. It reminded her of Rhiannon's mother when she was angry. Nonetheless, this was the first time she had the young lady talk in such a tone making her know that her young mistress was so mad this turn. She knew what kind of bloodline ran in Rhiannon's body and what they were capable of doing when they were mad. After all, she was still the one who had taken care of the young mistress' mother when she was little.

Knowing that her life and loyalty lay in the Anderson family, she calmed herself and reminded herself that all that was not her business other than taking care of Rhiannon and there was no way she was going to betray the family.

"Okay miss. Where are you right now? Are you okay? Have you eaten?" Mary asked worriedly.

"Mary, you need to calm down. What if they see you in an agitated and happy mood? Don't you think that that will make them suspicious?" Rhiannon asked while her eyes were looking at her other hand which was playing with the hem of the blanket.

Realizing that she had almost lost control of herself, Mary breathed in and out before saying, " Yes, yes. You are right. I am sorry miss."

"Okay. Make sure that nothing gets out of hand. I need you to go to my room and pack all the important documents, photos, and jewels. Everything important that belongs to me. Even my mom's belongings and take precautions so that they might not see you," Rhiannon said.

"I will do that immediately miss, now that they have not yet returned," Mary said as she headed upstairs.

"Well, that's good. I will be waiting for you," she said as she hung up the call.

She later proceeded to install some of the necessary apps that she knew that she needed before contacting her mother's trusted subordinate in the company. Even though that company belonged to her father's family company, she knew that the source of income came from her mother. If it weren't for her mother, the Flore Family would still be as poor as the church mouse as they were years ago. Therefore, it was her right to claim the company and she concluded that that was the reason that her grandparents left the shares to her instead of Kaylee. Thinking about her mother's unique and mysterious background, her eyes dimmed as she wondered whether when day, she would be united with that family. If it weren't for her mother's strategies and hard work, which the company has been using to date, it would have completely vanished from the business world.

"Hello, who am I talking to?" the man said.

"Good afternoon, Mr Charles," she said with no emotion in both her tone and face.

"Miss Anderson? Is that you? But haven't your family announced your death to the social media?" he asked as he wondered what had happened cause as far as he knew, Rhiannon got along with her family well as he had never heard of any dispute.

"Yes, they did since they think that I am but am not," she said calmly.

"That's good news then. I was wondering how I would face your mother since she told me to take care of you before she left us," he said sorrowfully as he remembered the day his madam died.

Recalling that day, Rhiannon's eyes darkened as she remembered something but later they returned to normal as she controlled her emotions.

"There is no need for you to feel guilty anymore. Aren't I alive? I need you to inform me of anything that goes on from today through this number and you shouldn't tell anyone that I am still alive," she said as she stared at the white ceiling blankly.

"Why? Your sister is worried about you. Don't you think that it is best if you inform them?" he asked as he found it difficult to believe that Miss Anderson doesn't care about her family.

"There is no need. They will find it out soon when I recover," she said as she didn't feel that it was appropriate for her to tell him what happened. "And you better remember who is your master and where your loyalty lies. Don't do anything like informing them when I have prohibited you from doing so. Remember my warnings or you will pay the price," she said coldly, making the man feel fear running down his spine.

He removed his phone from his ear and stared at it for some seconds before returning it. He wondered why the young miss sounded like the previous madam. Remembering the cold and heartless woman, Mr Charles trembled even more as he knew what kind of people he served.

"I remember Miss Anderson. My loyalty lies to both your mother and you. I won't go against your words."

"Good. Keep that in mind," she said coldly before hanging the call.

Later that day, Mary walked into the room with the things she was requested and some meals. After making sure that Rhiannon was fine and had eaten the food and taken the medicines, she left before to avoid the people in that mansion being suspicious.

The following day, Rhiannon was woken up by someone opening the door. Still feeling tired and sleepy, Rhiannon turned her head to look at the person. After sensing that the person was not a danger to her Rhiannon returned to sleep.

Looking at the woman in the bed, the man shook his head helplessly before moving towards her.

"Do you know what time it is? Wake up, we still need to go to the courthouse," he said softly.

"Leave me alone, I want to sleep," she said sleepily as she hid her head in the blanket.

The little action was enough to make the man annoyed at the tantrums.

"Do you think that you are a child? Or do you think that I am your mother so that I can entertain you here? Can you stop wasting my time and wake up!" he snapped.

His cold words hit Rhiannon's heart as she was reminded that her mother was dead and she had no way to protect her or give in to her demands. Those words put her in a gloomy mood. Even if she wanted to tell the man that she won't marry him, she knew it was impossible since she had already promised and her mother had taught her that she should always fulfill her promises to avoid unnecessary attention or enemies.

Not in the mood to get into an argument early morning, she threw the blanket, got out of bed, and walked towards the washrooms without sparing the man even a single glance.

Noticing the attitude, the man diverted his eyes from her and rolled his eyes at her childishness. Sitting on the couch, he took his phone.

Inside the washroom, Rhiannon looked at her face through the mirror after coming out of the bathroom and became sad. Previously, her stepmother and father hated to see her face since she resembled her mother. Wanting to get their attention and love, she always used a lot of makeup to disguise her real self but now that she knew that they never loved her and even plotted to kill her, she didn't see the need to disguise herself once more. She found that it was high time she showed the world how her real face looked. Taking the makeup kit, Rhiannon applied a little foundation, eyeliner, and lipstick. She later wore a floria nude O neck beaded mermaid dress, Stuart Weitsman Cinderella Slippers her mother's necklace, and the ice jade bracelet. She later took a golden Hermes latest edition handbag. She looked at herself in the mirror and smiled, satisfied with how she looked. To her, today was an important day since she was getting married.

Walking out of the room, Rhiannon picked up her phone on the bed and walked outside of the ward before saying, " I am done," to the man seated.

The man looked up and was shocked to see how beautiful she looked. He had thought that he was doing the woman a favor by marrying her but it seemed that he was the lucky one. He stood up and strolled next to her.

Upon arriving at the courthouse, all eyes were on them cause they were so eye-catching since they were beautiful and handsome respectively. For this reason, most people paved the way for them allowing them to get their certificates immediately. Hardly had they received the certificate after signing when Rhiannon's phone beeped making everyone look at her

She took her phone and her eyes darkened after she looked at the message.
