Chapter 6
"Look, everyone is staring at us. If you continue making a scene, aren't you afraid that there might be someone who knows you and will inform them that you are still alive?" he asked making her shut up.
She glared at him before turning around.
This action made the driver speechless as he had never seen his master tolerating anyone the way he had tolerated Rhiannon.
"Take us home," Octavius said coldly when he noticed the driver's eyes on Rhiannon.
He didn't want anyone to look at his belongings. The mere thought of everyone witnessing how beautiful Rhiannon was made him angry but he knew better than talking about it.
The drive was so quiet as none of them spoke to each other.
From time to time, Octavius would look at Rhiannon to see what she was doing but he only ended up annoyed that she didn't care about him.
He couldn't understand why he was feeling that way, he tried himself to seem as if he didn't care about her but he found his eyes shifting to her once more.
The car got in the most luxurious and expensive premises.
Rhiannon who had been staring out of the window since she got in, was shocked and looked at Octavius once more before glancing outside once more as she didn't want him to find her staring at her.
"Is it beautiful?" he asked as he saw her shocked face through the side mirror.
"Yeah," she mumbled as she started feeling excited as she looked at the garden full of different flowers.
"Is the whole community full of these flowers? Why didn't I see them at the entrance?" she asked with a frown.
"Not every house. Just our house."
His warm lazy voice sounded in the car making it pleasing to the ear.
Even Rhiannon was carried by the effects of the voice but after some time, she was brought into reality. Her eyes were wide open as she stared at the magnificent house in front of her. It was so huge than her parents' mansion and it screamed luxury. It was surrounded by flowers and there were sea stone crystals that made a path but she didn't know where the path was leading to. There was an open space where it was full of grass which shone brightly evident that they were well taken care of.
She was already in love with the house and the compound.
"How rich are you?"
She mumbled without looking at the man beside her as she found everything outside was more pleasing to the eye than his handsome face.
If Octavius knew what she was thinking, he would command someone to destroy the garden.
Upon hearing her question, Octavius posed what he was doing and glanced at her then looked at what she was looking at outside the window.
"Richer than you can imagine."
There wasn't a trace of pride in his voice, it was just so neutral as if to him, he wasn't rich or the house wasn't luxurious and captivating enough for him.
Rhiannon was shocked and turned to face him without fearing him.
"What do you mean when you say that? Do you be that I might witness something more astonishing and luxurious than this?"
Disbelief was evident in her tone. She searched for answers in the man's face but the man was expressionless in front of her making her pout feeling displeased.
The driver chuckled when he saw the face his new madam had made.
"Madam, this mansion is one of the cheapest mansions the master owns. There are a lot better mansions than these."
He answered without looking at her as he was busy driving the car as he needed to park it in the garage.
"What? Then why did you bring me the cheapest one? Or do you think that I am not worthy to stay in the most expensive mansion?"
Rhiannon was so mad as she wished to see how the so-called most luxurious and expensive mansion her husband earned. Also, she knew that if he was brought here, it would show her value in Octavius' life.
Although they didn't know each other, she felt that since they were already married, they had to trust each other and stop hiding things from one another. Now knowing that her value was so low, she wondered whether she had made a mistake by agreeing on getting married to him or whether he saw her as a cheap woman.
The thought of either of them made her so angry.
The driver panicked when he heard her words. He glanced at his boss through the side mirror only to meet his cold yet indifferent eyes.
This made him panic even more as he knew that his boss was displeased by his words and didn't want to get involved thus he had to settle the misunderstanding by himself.
"No, no madam. You have misunderstood something," the driver hurriedly said in a panic making his words seem as if they were a child's words.
Rhiannon didn't reply to him but raised her eyebrows unto him gesturing him to say what she had misunderstood.
"Miss, I am sure that you know that this mansion is in the best community area and one of the most expensive estates. My master isn't from this city thus he doesn't know which is the most expensive estate. Also, this is his only house in this city. The other houses are in the capital and around the country thus we couldn't go there today but I am sure you will get a chance to go there," he said after calming down a little bit.
Rhiannon widened her eyes and glanced at the emotionless man seated beside her.
She didn't know that she wasn't from the city. When they met, she had thought that he had to be a young master from a wealthy family in the city but now…
She was shocked to know that he came from the capital and his driver's words, he was so rich. Does that mean his family is one of the prominent families in the capital?
"Why are you staring at me so deeply?" a cold voice asked shocking her in the process.
Octavius wasn't pleased by what his chauffeur had said but he knew that he was the one to blame as he didn't want to explain to Rhiannon why she was brought here in one of his 'cheap houses'. He had not thought that the man would reveal more about him than what was required of him.
"I thought you were rich and from a wealthy family but not that rich!"
