Chapter 6:Divorce?
Anthony’s POV*
I grabbed the bouquet and as soon as I alighted from my car, I paced a few steps and halted in front of the entrance door. It was a nice two-bedroom flat with a conducive environment. "Phew" I exhaled sharply. "why am I developing cold feet all of a sudden," I thought then I stretched forth my right hand and reached out with a soft knock on the door, "That was quick" A voice called from behind the door. Immediately, the door swung open and a young man emerged like he was expecting someone, his eyes darted through the whole environment and from the looks on his face, I wasn't the one he was expecting.
"Who are you?" He asked with furrowed brows.
I had no energy to start explaining myself to him, I rolled my eyes dramatically and asked "Is Aileen Smith here?".
The guy glanced at me slowly from head to toe "Yeah, what's the matter?", he asked, unsure of whether to give me the right information or not.
"I....." I wanted to say something but a feminine voice interrupted me from within "Babe, who's there?" the voice asked then I saw a beautiful lady rush outside with curiosity etched all over her face and the both of them hugged each other so warmly. "Can we help you?", she asked, still in the arms of the guy.
Jealousy hit me up immediately and a series of thoughts ran through my mind "So this is Aileen, the woman I married? She doesn't even recognize me, and she's cheating on me?". "Excuse me, are you two together?" I asked to clarify.
Aileen’s eyes widened, "That's none of your goddamn goddamn business weirdo. Now leave or I'll call the police" she warned with a shot, they both went inside and slammed the door against me.
I stood there for a moment, shame and disappointment pressing down hard on me with my arms filled with a nice bouquet. I looked at the bouquet and having no use any more, I threw it on a trash can close to the entrance door then I went into my car and zoomed off.
Aileen’s Pov
The store had already closed for the day before I got there. I didn't hesitate to rush back home cause it was getting late. As soon as I got home, I saw the sleek black car zoomed off from my premises. The structure of the driver looks like someone I know "That guy kind of looks like Anthony" I muttered with furrowed brows then I paced close to the door. I saw a nice rose bouquet on the trash can beside the door "And these flowers, are they the ones I...." I asked myself in a puzzled state, trying to recall if they were the flowers I gave to my boss but Stella cut in "Oh my!" She swung the door open with worry etched all over her face.
"What" I asked to clarify, then Liam replied from behind her "Have you seen a weird guy?"
"Uh, yeah, you two, you guys are weird"
"Get inside, hurry up come on" They hurriedly dragged me inside and locked the door behind them as if a thief was walking around the neighbourhood.
I was puzzled by the whole weird drama they were putting up. I had to understand so I halted "Okay! Okay you guys, what's this all about cause both of you are freaking me out right now" I demanded, pouting my lips.
"Okay Aileen, so a minute ago, there was just a weirdo at the door who's asking questions about who lives here". Stella said, with her eyebrows raised.
"And he knows your name" Liam added, narrowing his eyes.
My eyes widened "my name?"
"Yeah, it was sus we scared him just so you know okay", Liam continued.
His words sent chills down my spine "Who could that be?" I thought but Stella revived me out of my thoughts "Okay, but anyways, he was too cute to be a robber" she said with her cheeks slightly flushed and her eyes crinkled.
"Stella!" Liam and I called in a high tone.
"You're unbelievable Stella" Liam added.
"Just saying the truth" she rolled her eyes dramatically with a weird smile.
I wanted to proceed to my room but then I remembered the bouquet "Hhh, the flowers" I exclaimed, then I rushed outside to pick the flowers but I couldn't find them there anymore, it seemed like someone had picked them up. "Gosh! Well then, I'd call it a day" I said then I went back inside.
Anthony's POV
After I left Aileen's house, I drove straight to my grandmother's place to reveal the kind of woman she asked me to marry.
"So where is Aileen, Anthony?" Her frail voice asked immediately I entered her living room. A wide warm smile spread across her aging face.
"She's with another man" I retorted bluntly with furrowed brows as I swung myself on a sofa.
My grandma adjusted her sitting position "What do you mean by she's with another man?" She asked, with a brief flash of teeth piqued by my response. She probably thought that I was joking so I had to make it clear to her "She's not that kind of girl Grandma, I saw it with my own two eyes".
"No Anthony, it must be a misunderstanding".
"No Grandma, it can't be a misunderstanding cause I called her as soon as I got into the country and I heard the man's voice on the phone, I got to see her and he was there and they were together intimately" I replied, clenching my jaw.
My grandma slumped her shoulders on hearing my words, "You brought this on yourself. So what are you going to do now?" She asked, her eyebrows drawn together.
"DIVORCE" I retorted with a straight face "I will divorce her grandma as soon as possible" I added with a grin.
"Divorce?" Her eyes widened
"Yes grandma, right away".
