Chapter 2 Why Refuse Someone That Comes to Me?

On weekends, the hospital was still buzzing with people. Catherine had to wait forever. By the time it was her turn, it was almost lunchtime.

Sitting across from Manuel, Catherine found he still had that indifferent look on his face.

Manuel asked about her symptoms in a businesslike way, like nothing had happened last night.

"Get a disposable mat and lie down inside, take off your right pant leg," Manuel instructed.

After organizing the medical records on his computer, Manuel signaled for her to wait in the innermost examination room.

With the swelling sensation in her pussy, Catherine had no choice but to comply.

Before she could lay out the disposable mat, she heard someone entering Manuel's office.

"I think I just saw Catherine waiting outside for an examination," Gabriel Perez said, pushing the door open with a few medical records in hand, his face full of gossip.

Manuel nodded perfunctorily, his eyes still glued to the computer screen.

Gabriel placed the records on the desk and, with a tone of frustration, asked, "Why did you leave without saying anything yesterday? I was calling your name, but you didn't hear me. The woman holding your arm was Catherine, right?"

Hearing this, Manuel's typing paused for a moment. "Yeah. She was drunk yesterday, so I took her home."

As soon as he finished speaking, Gabriel leaned in with a mysterious look. "With such a beauty by your side, you didn't do anything?"

Seeing that Manuel had no intention of answering, Gabriel grinned and said, "Right, I forgot about the one abroad. She was your first love, after all. I guess you wouldn't do anything to betray her, would you?"

Manuel said nonchalantly, "Why should I refuse someone that comes to me?"

Gabriel was stunned for a moment. He opened his mouth, looking incredulous. "You don't care about the one abroad? You went through so much to pursue her, we all saw it."

"She threw herself at me. It's hassle-free," Manuel sneered. "Besides, if Henry doesn't care, why should I?"

He avoided the topic brought up by Gabriel.

Meanwhile, inside the examination room, even though there was a thick wooden door between them, Catherine had moved closer to the door and heard most of the conversation.

She felt her heart sink. Even though she had no feelings for Henry after the breakup, hearing them talk like this still made her feel intensely uncomfortable.

It turned out that even Henry's friends knew she was just a toy to him. She had once considered it a precious relationship.

Catherine forced a smile. But the pain in her pussy was becoming unbearable, and she didn't have time to think about these things.

Gabriel's voice continued to come through, "Aren't you in a relationship? How come..."

Manuel interrupted him, "We broke up, okay? Now go get busy, I still have a patient."

Before Catherine could gather her thoughts, Manuel had already dismissed Gabriel and was walking towards the examination room.

Catherine quickly pulled up her pant leg and lay back on the bed.

Manuel asked her, "Where does it hurt?"

Not caring if she had heard the previous conversation, he routinely put on gloves, his cold eyes above the mask showing no emotion.

"Here." Catherine glared at him, spreading her legs openly. Her delicate skin looked especially tender under the cold white light.

Catherine's labia was swollen to twice its size, almost engorged. Her pussy was still wet.

Manuel stared at her cunt under the light for a long time, then grabbed a long cotton swab from the nearby table and swirled it inside twice.

When he pulled it out, the swab had a faint trace of blood.

Manuel frowned slightly and glanced at her.

"What are you looking at?" Catherine felt her cheeks flush slightly. She remembered cleaning herself up in the morning.

Even though it was her first time having sex, she didn't want Manuel to know she was inexperienced.

"Going out to mess around when your period is near? Being pretty isn't enough for a woman. You need to know how to take care of yourself." With that, Manuel tossed the swab into the trash and took out a brown medicine bottle, getting ready to apply the medicine.

"If you hadn't gone there, how could I have run into you?" Catherine bit her lip and retorted, unsure if he was being professional or just mocking her.

But she felt there was no need to explain. After all, meeting in a bar, the first impression couldn't be good.

"Don't move." Manuel didn't say anything more and efficiently applied the medicine.

Although his words were harsh, after the medication, Catherine felt the pain significantly reduced.

Seeing Manuel about to leave, Catherine quickly called out to him, "Do I just go pay directly?"

She didn't want to take advantage of him, even if it was just for the cost of the medicine.

"No need." Manuel didn't look at her and left the examination room.

Catherine understood his indifference. To him, she was just a toy Henry had grown tired of, while he was a successful and distinguished figure in Emerald City.

There was not just Henry between them, but also a deep class divide.

After leaving the hospital, Catherine hurried to the coffee shop in the CBD next to the hospital, where Alison Ward, her best friend, was waiting.

"Catherine, you're finally here. Do you know how long I've been waiting for you? The waiter has refilled my coffee three times!" Alison blinked her big eyes, staring at her with a face full of playful resentment, "I'm full from drinking!"

Catherine gave an embarrassed smile and sat down across from her. "You don't have to come. Really. I'm fine."

She had told Alison about her hospital visit as soon as she woke up in the morning. It was just a daily life share between friends, but she didn't expect Alison to come so early.

"Of course I came. You went to the hospital; how could I not come to see you?" Alison pouted and pushed another cup of coffee in front of her. "It's almost cold, drink it."

Before Catherine could respond, Alison leaned in mysteriously. "So, did you see Manuel?"

Catherine almost choked on the coffee she had just sipped. "How did you know?"

"Who doesn't know the most renowned doctor at Emerald City Evergreen Hospital? And he's a gynecologist, no less. I bet even women without any issues would want to find some excuse to see him," Alison pouted as she said. "But I heard he has high standards. I mean, for a man as perfect as him, it's only natural."

Catherine didn't say anything, just nodded slowly in agreement.

In fact, the waiting lines at other doctors' doors weren't long today, but Manuel's door was packed with people.

Manuel's naturally cold face, focused on his work, even made the nurses passing by the door take a few more glances inside.
