Chapter 4 Unreal

After cursing, Diana hung up right away.

When Robert tried calling again, she ignored it, blocked him, and deleted his number.

Since he couldn't reach her by phone, Robert started bombarding her with messages.

Diana's phone kept buzzing, but she ignored it and switched it to silent mode.

Her world was peaceful, but the Getty family was in chaos.

Aiden and Emily had just brought Laura back from the hospital that morning, only to find the antique vase in the living room missing.

Emily lost it. "Mia!"

The maid, Mia Wilson, rushed out. "Mrs. Getty, what's wrong?"

"Where's my antique vase?" Emily pointed to the empty shelf, her voice sharp and angry.

Mia shrank back. "Ms. Getty took it!"

Emily was stunned. "What?"

Aiden's face turned cold. "What's going on?"

"Ms. Getty came back yesterday, packed a lot of things, and then left," Mia said honestly.

Laura was shocked. "She really left? She hasn't come back since?"

"No," Mia confirmed.

Laura pressed her lips tightly together, thinking, 'What is Robert doing? Didn't he say he would make Diana come back and apologize? Now Diana has left and taken all the valuable antiques from the house. Mom said that those would be given to me when I get married! How could Diana take them?'

"Mom, is Diana still mad at me and ran away from home?" Laura lowered her eyes, hiding the malice in them, and then threw herself into Emily's arms with a look of grievance. "We should quickly find Diana and bring her back!"

Aiden was furious, "No need, if she has the guts to leave, she shouldn't come back for the rest of her life! If I had known she was so selfish, I wouldn't have brought her back in the first place! The Getty family has lost all face because of her!"

"No, I need to see what she took!" Emily shouted, heading upstairs.

Laura quickly followed, saying, "Mom, Diana must have taken a lot of good things from the house if she decided to run away. She never saw those things in the orphanage. What if she sells them at a low price to survive?"

Emily screamed in anger. "That fool wouldn't dare! Those are priceless antiques! If she dares to sell them, I'll break her legs."

Shouting, Emily pushed open Diana's room door.

It was Emily's first time in Diana's room. Unlike Laura's bright, spacious, and exquisitely decorated room, this room was so small that a bed and a wardrobe filled the entire space.

It was even worse than the maid's room. It seemed to be the storage room of the villa. How did it become Diana's room?

Emily stood at the door, staring blankly at the empty room, feeling as if a piece of her heart was missing.

Laura, noticing Emily's expression, became anxious and quickly hugged Emily's arm. "Mom, Diana really left. She must still hate me for taking her place. Maybe I should leave, so Diana won't be at odds with you."

Laura couldn't let Diana affect anyone in the Getty family. She was the only daughter of the Getty family.

She thought, 'Diana wants to compete with me? Dream on!'

Sure enough, hearing this, the awkwardness in Emily's heart disappeared instantly.

Emily lovingly patted Laura's head. "She's just selfish. It's not your fault. You're too kind and sensible, that's why she bullies you."

"Mom, with your love and guidance, it's only natural for me to be sensible. Unlike Diana, who grew up in an orphanage, she's probably used to fighting for things. Don't worry, when she comes back, I'll teach her to listen to you and be as respectful to you and Dad as I am," Laura said generously.

Emily felt a pang of annoyance at the mention of the orphanage. Diana's upbringing was like a thorn in her heart, constantly reminding her of her failure as a mother.

Emily snorted, "Forget it, she's inherently selfish and can't be taught. It's good that she's gone, so we don't have to see her and get annoyed!"

Laura was secretly pleased and said sweetly, "Mom, don't be upset. Let's go downstairs and eat. I asked Mia to make some soup for you. Drink more of it."

Emily's face lit up with satisfaction. "You're the most considerate, unlike that selfish Diana!"

Laura smiled shyly. "Diana will understand your good intentions eventually."

Laura thought, 'Diana, it's better that you're gone. Now, everything in the Getty family belongs to me. But you can leave, your kidney is still mine!'

Diana didn't know that Laura was still thinking about her kidney. She was currently carrying her suitcase out of the hotel, preparing to move to Howard's apartment.

As soon as she got out of the elevator, Howard's call came through. "Grandma heard about our marriage and is very happy. She said she's preparing a family dinner to celebrate tonight. Is that okay with you?"

Diana's car had arrived, and the driver was putting her luggage in the trunk.

She opened the car door and said, "No problem, I'm on my way to Luxe Haven Apartments."

"Okay," Howard's voice paused, as if talking to someone beside him, then continued after a few seconds, "I'll come to pick you up at six tonight."

"Okay."

This amount of time was enough for Diana to unpack and take a nap.

After hanging up, Diana looked out the window.

Even now, she still felt unreal. She had really been reborn and changed the course of her previous life.

In her palm, her phone kept vibrating with messages from Robert.

Since Diana had blocked Robert's number, he had been sending her Facebook messages. He had sent probably over a hundred voice messages and dozens of voice calls.

Diana chose to ignore them all.

If Robert wasn't still somewhat useful, Diana would have blocked all his contacts.

When she arrived at Luxe Haven Apartments, Emily's call came through.

Diana was following the GPS to find her way and hung up directly.

Meanwhile, Emily, who was applying a face mask, angrily tore it off and shouted at Aiden, who was reading a book, "She dared to hang up on me!"

Aiden was furious. "Why are you calling her? Let her fend for herself outside! I want to see how she survives without a proper job. She won't last long without the Getty family! When she's had enough suffering, she'll beg us to let her come back. Then, we'll make her donate her kidney to Laura. She won't dare refuse!"

Emily thought it made sense and nodded. "I never thought she was so selfish. Laura is still the best, even though she's sick, she still thinks of me and has the maid make soup for me. While Diana only knows how to upset me!"
