Alpha's Revenge

“I have the audio of what he said. The system automatically backs up all the footage and sound. I’ll download the information and hide it somewhere for later. Nobody knows about his secret room, so maybe I’ll just hide it here for now but I’ll keep another copy hidden in the forest where no one will find out. The caves that I used to play in by the falls would be perfect. We’ll sneak out tonight and hide until morning. I’ll come back looking dirty and disheveled and say my parents told me to run so I did and hid in the woods. He’s too stupid to know enough to question me and he isn’t a true Alpha so he can’t command me.”

“That sounds like a great plan.”

Little did I know the hell that would be awaiting me for the next year and a half.

Chapter 2 (6 Months Later)

It has been six months since my parents were murdered and their murderer, who was our beta, took over the pack. I’ve been biding my time to kill him, but I’m told by my wolf that the time has not come yet. In another six months my 17th birthday will be coming up, only I won’t be celebrating like normal. I’ve seen the way he’s been eyeing me lately and quite frankly, it is disgusting. Every time we’re in the same room, I just want to slit his throat with my claws. After he slapped me on the ass last month and I attacked him, he keeps me in silver shackles when I’m around him. The chain is long enough for me to still work while subduing me at the same time. He doesn’t know that silver doesn’t bother me as much as it does him and others. I’ve always been this way, but I don’t know why. My parents were this way too, and they said they thought it was because of our pure Alpha bloodlines.

As I finish the dishes, chores are my punishment for denying him my companies. You see, as long as they belong to me, the pack makes no profit while he is in charge. The money goes to my account and if something should happen to me, then the money goes to the many charities that my parents were involved in, so either way, he loses. He became furious when he decided that killing me would be better, but found out that killing me meant the money went to charities. He told me that I was selfish to make the pack suffer and keep the money for myself. I told him that they weren’t suffering. The companies still provide shipments of food and monthly allowances to all families within the pack. They just don’t have control of the companies or the spending of the money. If he did, then we would be in trouble, because he wants to live lavishly, unlike my parents. We didn’t buy mansions and fancy sports cars and clothes with our profits. We made sure the pack had money for repairs, food, clothes, and any other necessities. We are one of the wealthiest packs in North America aside from the Lycan King and his family. Flaunting our wealth was not our way. My parents always said “Never boast about what you have, because just as easily as you acquire it, it can be taken away, so don’t take it for granted.”

He wants to build a bigger packhouse and bigger homes for ranked pack members and I heard that he wanted to buy himself a candy apple red Lamborghini. That doesn’t even make sense, because we’re wolves and don’t need to go anywhere that requires such a vehicle. Basically, we shift and run everywhere, and only need vehicles when traveling long distances, like to another park or the royal palace, which isn’t often. All of his “changes” are just idiotic and costly and very unnecessary.

“Reigna!” I heard my name being yelled by the bastard himself.

“I wonder what he wants now,” I said to myself as I got up from my bed and made my way downstairs to what used to be my father's office. Without knocking, I just entered the office. “You bellowed?” I asked sarcastically.

“I’ve had about enough of your attitude. You will learn to respect me or...” I cut him off.

“Or what? What will you do exactly? We both know that you won’t kill me, so what could you possibly do to me that you haven’t already done?” His nostrils flared, but it didn’t faze me one bit. “What did you call me down here for? My chores are done, and I’ve been in my room out of the way.”

“I wanted to know if you’ve given any more thought to handing over the businesses to me. You can’t run them until you’re 18 anyway, so you may as well hand them over. I’ll run them and hand them back to you when you’re old enough.” He smiled at me and all I wanted to do is slash his throat.

“My answer is still the same. I will not be handing over my companies to anyone. They are mine and mine alone. Besides, the people in charge at the moment are doing a fine job. They report to me, and I’ve seen the numbers of the quarterly reports. Nobody here is lacking in any necessities, therefore there is no reason anything should change before my 18th birthday. And in case I was unclear, I’ve been groomed in business from the time I could read by my father, trained in combat, and my Luna duties if I am mated to an Alpha. The companies can actually be run by me now if I so choose, but I do not want to run them yet. I want to finish high school and then I’ll take over. If that is all, then I’ll return to my room or prison and read.” I turned to leave and that was my mistake. Never turn your back on your enemy, especially when you know that you’ve pissed them off.
