"Annul the engagement!" James Smith angrily smashed the cup at Amelia Johnson's feet, shouting furiously.

As the hot coffee splashed, Amelia felt a sharp pain in her ankle and instinctively recoiled to the side, bewildered and aggrieved.

"Mr. Johnson, your Johnson family is simply too much. Not only did you saddle me with a dim-witted fiancée but also expect me to raise her child from another man." James said angrily.

Hayden Johnson was utterly disgraced; he had not anticipated that James would suddenly arrive and confront him upon hearing the news.

Looking at Amelia's prominently swollen belly, he couldn't help but feel guilty.

Amelia fell down the stairs and sustained a head injury, leaving her with the mental capacity of a seven-year-old child. To avoid being discovered by the Smith family, Hayden discreetly sent her back to their hometown to recover.

He had hoped that a year or so of rest would restore her, but to his shock, she returned from the countryside eight months pregnant, even with the father unknown.

If it weren't for the visible pregnancy and the ensuing gossip in the countryside, Hayden wouldn't have brought Amelia back. He had already arranged for a private hospital to secretly perform an abortion on Amelia, but James found out before that.

"James, you and Amelia grew up together. Besides, Amelia won't be a fool for life. One day, She will surely recover." Hayden said.

James slammed the table. "Mr. Johnson! She also might be a fool for life, and you think I would marry a fool carrying another man's child? In any case, I will break off the engagement!"

"James, please don't abandon me." Amelia instinctively reached out to grab James's clothes. She didn't understand what they were talking about, but James's demeanor frightened her.

"Don't touch me; you disgust me." James avoided her touch with disdain, not sparing her another glance. Before leaving, he left a harsh warning, "You have one day to return the villa, car, jewelry, and five million dollars that the Smith family gave, or don't blame me for calling the police."

This would completely sever ties between the Johnson family and the Smith family, disregarding any prior relationship.

Hayden was furious and shouted at the butler, . "Take this fool to the hospital and get rid of the child."

"Hayden, don't be so angry. It's not entirely Amelia's fault. After all, she's a fool. It must have been some old man in the countryside who took advantage of her. Actually, the marriage between the Smith family and the Johnson family doesn't necessarily hinge upon Amelia.""

Hayden immediately understood her meaning. "Ava, you're so smart, but this might unduly burden Stella."

"How could it be? The Smith family is also a prestigious family in Emerald City. Most importantly, James is an emerging luminary in the business realm. He will definitely revitalize the Smith family in the future." Ava Davis said.

"Then you handle everything." Hayden said.

Ava's lips curled into a smug smile and she said, "Yes, I'll take Amelia to my brother's hospital for surgery right away. As for Stella, I'll explain everything to her properly."

When Amelia woke up again, she was in the hospital. Her head and abdomen sustained severe trauma, showing signs of a potential miscarriage.

In a daze, she heard Ava insist, "We need to transfer her to BloomCare Maternity Hospital for the surgery."

At this moment, Amelia's head throbbed intensely, with countless fragments flashing through her mind, and her abdomen experienced waves of sharp pain.

"No! Don't hurt my baby. James, save me!" But she couldn't even make a sound. In her struggle, she was transferred to BloomCare Maternity Hospital and taken to the maternity ward, where a doctor said, "A pair of boy-girl twins, with one being stillborn."

Five years later, at Emerald City International Airport.

Amelia finally returned to Emerald City. Returning back this city, she harbored nothing but hatred.

Five years ago, after that car accident, she was taken to her stepmother's brother's private hospital, where she underwent a cesarean section. She was clearly carrying twins, but when she woke up, there was only a dying baby girl by her side.

Soon, Hayden sent Amelia abroad. For the first three months, Hayden still sent money to her landlord. But after that, he seemed to forget about her and no longer sent money to the landlord. The landlord, unable to further receive the rent, eventually evicted her and her three-month-old daughter when it was Christmas, and the weather was freezing.

They had nowhere to go, but fortunately, Amelia met Matthew Moore, who took her in and provided her with the opportunity to continue her studies, ultimately enabling her to become a psychology professor.

This time, she returned not only to deal with the Johnson family but also to continue searching for her son.

A mocking voice suddenly sounded in her ear. "Amelia, my older sister, is it really you? Why did you suddenly come back?"

Stella looked at Amelia in surprise. She noticed that Amelia was dressed in a denim jumper and sucking on a lollipop, looking childish, especially with a lollipop in her mouth, and thought perhaps her mind hadn't yet recovered to normal.

"Where have you been all these years? Dad has been searching for you for five years, and his hair has turned significantly gray from worry." Stella said.

Amelia didn't expect to run into a member of the Johnson family so soon after getting off the plane.

After a long time, Stella was still so hypocritical.

Amelia pretended not to have regained her memory and asked in confusion, "Are you my younger sister? But you look much older than me; your face is lined with wrinkles that even makeup cannot conceal."

Upon hearing this, Stella clenched her back teeth in fury, nearly longing to tear apart Amelia's tender face. But she was more convinced that Amelia hadn't regained her memory.

James emerged from the entrance, pushing his suitcase, and immediately spotted Stella with her flamboyant waves and vibrant attire, about to greet her when his attention was captivated by Amelia.

With delicate features, charming eyes, a white T-shirt, and a knee-length denim skirt, Amelia looked playful and youthful. Her slender and straight long legs were especially attractive.

Stella quickly stepped forward and grabbed his arm, pulling him closer to Amelia. She said to Amelia proudly, "Amelia, your mind is not sharp, but you still remembers James, right?"

After Amelia's mother passed away, James became her support, which filled Stella with deep resentment.

Upon seeing James, Amelia's heart tightened. His ruthless words still echoed in her ears, and she hadn't forgotten them in five years.

After James recognized Amelia, his face turned ashen.

Amelia decided to disgust him, nodded and pretended to be childlike, "James, do you remember me?"

James immediately looked away. "Disgusting! Stella, you know what I hate the most. Let's go back."

"Mommy." At this moment, a cute little girl who had just returned from the restroom ran up and grabbed Amelia's hand.

Sensing the tense atmosphere, Elsie Johnson stared warily at Stella and James.

"Is this the illegitimate child?" Stella smirked.

Elsie retorted, "Which is really rude of you to say, Miss. I am not an illegitimate child. I have mommy and Matthew."

After making a face, Elsie pulled Amelia away, "Mommy, let's not talk to the bad people."

Stella was so angry that she almost fainted. She couldn't stand it, about to chase after them to vent her anger when she saw a black Maybach steadily stop in front of Amelia and Elsie.

"Amelia, Elsie, get in the car." Matthew said with a smile.

Elsie snorted, "Matthew is here to pick us up."

Stella was dumbfounded as she saw a handsome and elegant man get out of the back seat and thoughtfully help Amelia with her luggage. She found the man very familiar but couldn't remember where she had seen him.

"It's Matthew!" James, who had followed them out, looked at the departing Maybach with an unreadable expression.

"Matthew? The heir of the Moore family?" Stella exclaimed. Then she shook her head. "James, you must be mistaken. How could the heir of the Moore family come to pick up Amelia, that fool? Don't kid me. She doesn't deserve it!"

James frowned and said, "You're right. I must have been mistaken. She really doesn't deserve it."
