Chapter 10 The Two Adorable Kids Meet Again

Barry was so freaked out by Leon's yelling that his eyes got all red.

Seeing Barry looking all lost, Leon let out a heavy sigh. He knew it wasn't really Barry's fault and once again, his anger shifted to Tiffany.

'That sneaky woman must've put Barry up to this again!' Leon thought, turning around and dragging Barry away.

Just then, Flora came out of the bathroom and saw someone carrying Barry off.

Flora shouted, "Sam! Sam!"

Barry heard her and peeked out, but Leon kept walking without looking back.

Tiffany, by some stroke of luck, missed Leon and found a worried Flora on the second floor. "Flora, where's Sam?"

Tiffany hurried over and picked up Flora.

"Mommy, a big guy just took Sam away," Flora said, tugging at Tiffany's clothes, looking really scared.

"It's on me! Mom, I had to pee and left Sam by himself..." Flora's eyes filled with guilt, tears starting to form.

A big guy took Sam away?

Tiffany's hands shook as she held Flora. It was Leon!

Tiffany's breath quickened as she realized Leon had taken her son; she had to retrieve Sam.

"Flora, be a good girl. Mommy's gonna go get Sam. You wait in the hotel room, okay?" Tiffany felt her heart break seeing Flora's guilty face and tried to comfort her.

Flora nodded obediently. After Tiffany sent Flora back, she drove straight to the Cooper Mansion.

At that moment, Leon was getting Barry out of the car.

Barry had been sulking the whole way back. He didn't get to ask Tiffany his questions or say goodbye. If he disappeared, would she worry? After all, Tiffany liked Sam a lot.

"Barry, from now on, you're not leaving the house anymore!" Leon said, changing his shoes and getting ready to send Barry upstairs.

"Daddy, but Mommy..." Barry glanced nervously at Leon, only to see his cold eyes.

"Barry, you're not allowed to see that woman again, got it? Have you forgotten? She abandoned you!" Leon's words crushed Barry's already fragile heart.

The butler, Damon, came in from the backyard and was puzzled to see Barry with Leon. Just moments ago, he had been in the backyard, and Barry was still upstairs in his room. Damon had even brought him a meal. How did Barry end up with Leon again so quickly?

What they didn't know was that Sam was hiding in the kitchen corner at that moment.

He didn't like the meal Damon brought; it was too bland, so he followed Damon downstairs to find food and saw Leon bringing Barry back. He hid quietly and thought, 'Daddy hates Mommy so much now. If he knew about me, it might put Mommy in danger!'

"Mr. Cooper, Barry," Damon said quietly, putting down what he was holding.

"Take Barry to his room and keep a close eye on him. Don't let him go out again!" Leon's eyes were full of warning, and Barry lowered his head, obediently following Damon upstairs.

Damon was baffled; he had been home all day, and Barry hadn't left the house.

Leon looked at his dirty suit and headed to his bedroom to take a shower.

Sam let out a sigh of relief, patting his chest. Phew, Leon didn't find him. But man, Leon seemed super mad. And he wouldn't let Barry see Tiffany anymore? So, Barry had been with Tiffany these days? What went down between them?

Leon and Tiffany split up, and then Tiffany took care of them with so much effort. And it was his brother who got accidentally kidnapped back then. Why did Leon say Tiffany didn't want him?

Did Leon say that on purpose? To make Barry misunderstand Tiffany?

Sam scratched his head, feeling all confused. He needed to get out of there. Now that Barry was brought back by Leon, Tiffany must know and be freaking out!

Sam wanted to sneak out but saw the tight security outside, all set up by Leon, and had to retreat to the kitchen.

Damon happened to come out of the kitchen. When he sent Barry back to his room earlier, he noticed the meal was untouched and was thinking of reheating it.

"Barry! Why are you downstairs?"

Damon was startled and quickly grabbed Sam.

Sam was on the verge of tears. He wasn't the young master! He wasn't Barry!

Damon thought he was trying to sneak out again and took him back to the room. Damon half-opened the door, didn't go in, and just reminded him at the door, "Barry, Mr. Cooper is in a bad mood now. You mustn't go out! If Mr. Cooper gets angry, the consequences... sigh!"

Damon patted his head, pushed Sam in, and closed the door.

Sam stood in the room for a few seconds, turned around, and met Barry's gaze.

Barry had heard Damon talking to someone outside. He poked his head out to see and found it was Sam.

The two stared at each other like looking in a mirror.

Barry finally understood why Daddy said those things. It must be because Sam did something while he was away.

"Barry, why are you back? Shouldn't you be with Mommy?" Sam tilted his head, puzzled.

"I was caught by Daddy." Barry explained the whole incident.

"If we're both gone, Mommy will definitely worry! Barry, do you know a way out? I need to go back to Mommy. Or, should I take you to Mommy? She'll be so happy to see you..." Sam said as he pulled Barry's hand, trying to walk out of the bedroom.

"No." Barry's face was cold, expressionless, and he shook off Sam's hand. He clenched his fists, his face showing stubbornness and sadness. "She doesn't want me anymore. Why should I go back?"

Sam realized that Barry must have misunderstood because of what Daddy said earlier.

"Barry, Mommy didn't abandon you." Sam's eyes sparkled as he looked at him, holding his hand, and spoke earnestly, "She birthed us, and right after, you got snatched by some bad folks. All these years, Mommy never gave up looking for you."

Sam's words completely overturned all of Barry's previous beliefs. Mommy didn't abandon him?

"But Daddy said..." Barry was conflicted inside. Sam's words made him happy, but he didn't know if Tiffany still cared about him as much as before.

"I guess Daddy and Mommy must have some misunderstanding. Barry, Mommy loves us very much. I tried asking Daddy why they divorced, but he got angry. There must be some misunderstanding between them" Sam analyzed like a little adult in front of Barry.

Barry was still trapped in his thoughts, full of doubts. So, why did Daddy lie to him?
