Chapter 1 Impatient?
In the hospital room.
Two bodyguards pinned Monica Evans to the ground while her biological father, Henry Evans, yanked her mother Kathie Mellon's hair, dragging her to the floor and cruelly grinding his shoe into her fingers.
Henry added, "Monica, if you don't want Kathie kicked out of this hospital right now, you better agree to marry into the Robinson family for Laura! If you disagree, Kathie won't last long with kidney failure. Just get ready to collect her body!"
"Let go of my mom! Don't touch her!"
Monica heard Kathie's desperate whimpers, her eyes turning red with rage as she struggled to break free and rush to protect her mother.
Six years ago, Kathie had been paralyzed in a car accident and was recently diagnosed with kidney failure, requiring expensive medical treatment that Monica, fresh out of college, couldn't afford.
Desperate, she had turned to Henry, who had abandoned them years ago.
Henry, currently stressed over a marriage arrangement with the Robinson family, therefore forced Monica to marry Brandon Robinson, the comatose heir of the most prestigious family in Maplewood City, in place of her half-sister Laura Evans.
The Evans family had arranged a marriage with the Robinson family years ago, and Henry had been pleased with the match. But now that Brandon was in a coma, there was no way he would let Laura marry him.
This way, Laura wouldn't have to suffer, and the Evans family could still secure the alliance with the Robinsons—a win-win!
"If you obey, I'll not only spare Kathie but also cover her medical expenses," Henry said condescendingly. "You don't have much time to consider. I'll count to three. If you don't agree, I'll have Kathie taken away right now!"
"Three! Two!"
"I'll marry him!" Monica's voice was hoarse and trembling.
She knew Henry was capable of such cruelty. Kathie was her only family, and Monica couldn't let anything happen to her.
Hearing Monica's agreement, Henry finally lifted his foot and had Monica taken to the Robinson Villa.
Monica went upstairs, expressionless, waiting for the stylist to help her change into a wedding dress.
Soon, Laura appeared at the door, looking smug. "Monica, you should be happy. Marrying into a wealthy family means you won't have to suffer in the slums anymore. Even though Brandon is in a coma, he's rich. As long as you take care of him for the rest of your life, you won't end up a beggar. It's not a bad deal for you."
Monica's eyes flashed with anger.
The Evans family fortune originally belonged to the Mellon family. Henry built up his business and became rich by replying on Kathie.
After Kathie gave birth to Monica, Mr. Mellon passed away. Henry, feeling unrestrained, openly brought his mistress home, embezzled assets, and forced Kathie to leave with nothing.
Now, Laura had the nerve to flaunt in front of her!
Monica couldn't take it anymore and slapped Laura hard across the face.
Laura's face swelled instantly. "How dare you hit me, you bitch!" She screamed, clutching her face in disbelief.
At college, Monica had always been timid around her, but now she was acting so bold!
Laura looked like she wanted to tear Monica apart, stepping forward to teach her a lesson.
However, Monica remained calm. "If you dare to hit me and the Robinson family isn't satisfied, you'll have to marry Brandon and take care of him yourself."
Laura trembled with rage. "How dare you threaten me?"
Monica sneered. "I'm just informing you. Right now, you're the one begging me to marry into the Robinson family for you."
Laura, though still furious, didn't dare to act. She gritted her teeth and turned to leave.
Compared to marrying the comatose Brandon, it was more bearable to put up with Monica.
After all, she would have plenty of opportunities to settle the score with Monica later.
Monica knew Laura wouldn't dare go crazy. Though it didn't make up for all the disgusting things they had done, it was a small victory for herself.
Soon, the stylist came upstairs, did her makeup, and helped her change into the wedding dress.
The Robinson family's convoy was already waiting downstairs.
The Robinson family led the way in a black Rolls-Royce Phantom, followed by a line of Range Rovers, clearing the entire street.
The driver respectfully helped Monica into the car. "Mrs. Robinson, please."
Henry, seeing the grand scene, was very pleased and pretended to say, "Monica, take good care of Mr. Robinson after you marry into the Robinson family. Come home often; I'll miss you."
Monica felt disgusted, wishing she could slap him too.
But Kathie still needed his money for medical expenses, so she couldn't completely sever ties.
She got into the car, feeling indescribably sad.
She had once dreamed of a wedding where she married someone she loved, surrounded by the blessings of family and friends.
Now, she was being forced to marry a man she had never met, who might never wake up.
The car drove to the Robinson Mansion.
Brandon's mother, Angelina Johnson, sat on the sofa, scrutinizing Monica with satisfaction.
She spoke calmly, "Since you're married to Brandon now, you're one of us. Take good care of him and try to give him a child soon. If you can do that, the Robinson family won't treat you poorly. Whatever you want, we can provide."
Monica clenched her fists.
A family as wealthy as the Robinsons could easily ensure she and Kathie lived comfortably for generations.
But it seemed impossible to have a child with a comatose man.
Still, she didn't dare argue and obediently nodded. "I will, Mother."
Angelina then had the butler, Brian Dobbins, escort Monica upstairs.
When the door opened, Monica saw a handsome man lying in the bed.
His eyes were closed, with long, thick eyelashes, a straight nose, and a defined jawline.
Monica was stunned. She had never seen such a handsome man before, and now he was her husband.
Brian instructed, "Mrs. Robinson, from now on, you'll be responsible for taking care of Mr. Robinson. You'll need to bathe him, massage his limbs, and administer his medication and nutrients daily."
Monica nodded, watching Brian leave, then lifted the blanket to start massaging Brandon.
She had initially resisted marrying him, but now she felt a bit sorry for him.
She had heard of Brandon before. At twenty-three, he had graduated from the best business school in Phoenixia and had started his own company at sixteen, earning billions with ruthless efficiency, making him a feared figure in the business world.
Such an impressive person, yet his life was ruined by a car accident.
"Hello, Brandon, I'm your wife," she said softly, her hands massaging his legs. "I'll take good care of you from now on."
She was used to massaging Kathie, so she was familiar with the process. But as her hands touched his muscles, Monica froze.
A paralyzed person's muscles should have atrophied, but Brandon's were surprisingly firm.
She couldn't believe it and hesitated before unbuttoning his shirt.
His well-defined abs and firm chest muscles, combined with his tanned skin, were incredibly attractive.
Monica was astonished and reached out to touch her soild muscles.
She thought, 'His body is amazing!'
She couldn't help but continue exploring, finding his legs muscles equally defined, nothing like someone who had been in a coma for a long time.
Just then, her wrist brushed against something hot and hard.
Monica looked down in confusion and saw the bulge between Brandon's legs.
She jumped, realizing it was his penis, and her face blushed.
She muttered to herself, "I thought Angelina's idea of having a child was ridiculous, but Brandon can still have a physiological response. He can react doesn't mean he can have sex, right?"
She was in disbelief and sat on the bed, uncertain of her next move.
After a moment, Monica thought, 'If he's always in a coma, it should be okay to touch him, right? If he can really have sex, getting pregnant with his child would give me a way to protect myself and my mom.' she reached out to grasp the hot penis.
But unexpectedly, a large hand grabbed her wrist and pulled her into a firm embrace.
